Know Me By Name

So it seemed Matthew and Kaylee started a revolution of sorts. The angels paired with whom they loved, sometimes even those who had already been paired for years. Heaven was in bliss, until He called all the angels to gather.

Thousands of them gathered, waiting impatiently for the news the Heavenly Father had. It had to be important if He wanted them all there. His voice boomed across the land when the last angel had arrived.

"My children, I have created Earth, and I have created Man. From Man, I too have created Woman. They are my children as well, and Earth is their home. They are Adam and Eve. My angels will not go down to Earth without my permission. As we have rules, so do they."

The surrounding angels all agreed with Him, but Lucifer couldn't take it any longer. The creatures He had created were nothing special, these humans. Why did they deserve His creation of Earth more than the angels, more than his real children? The angels were the ones who obeyed His every order while Man was given Heaven on Earth without having to lift a finger to His will. Man would one day disappoint Him, and Lucifer was sure He would not punish them. To Lucifer, it was the final straw, and she needed to be heard.

"Your beloved creatures disobeyed you!" Lucifer shouted it so all the angels could hear. "Did you tell your children that? Those Humans are not worthy of the world you've created for them. You toiled tirelessly for six days, and yet they were corrupted. Why do you love them more, Father?"

Lucifer's outburst was met with complete silence.

All the angels looked at her in confusion. What was Lucifer talking about? Man still lived in the Garden of Eden where they did all He asked of them. But to Lucifer, that seemed wrong apparently.

She stared at the angels surrounding her and waited for it to click in His head. She had sent her serpent to the Garden; she had to prove to Him that there was no way this was going to work. When He discovered what she had done, He was in a way that none of the angels had ever seen.

For the first time, God's wrath was felt. He took Lucifer and ripped her wings from her back. Blood rushed down in trails as she screamed. The loss of her wings was unlike any pain ever felt. It was like her soul had been teared from her, like her skin was being peeled off as her feathers floated all around the angels.

Black and red, scaly wings sprouted from her back and thick, black horns grew from her head. Soon her eyes turned solid black, a sure sign she had been corrupted. Angels were not meant to look as Lucifer did.

She fell to the earth she so desperately hated. Lucifer hated her Father and all He had created, including the angels she once thought of as siblings. They had refused to stand up for her, to stand by what she believed was right.

So Lucifer took a new name, one that God Himself would never be able to say. It was a name He had not given her, one only she felt could describe who she was at her core: Satan.
