Unknown Person

“Sir, she is finally within reach, what would you like to do next?” The man asked his boss.

“Very good, drop the package off… I want her to know that no matter what, she can’t run forever” The boss said laughing loudly. They had been waiting for her arrival for a while now.

“Yes sir” The minion said knowing just what to do.

“Don’t get caught, she will not know you are around till I want her to… stamp it like it came from her hometown.” The boss stated knowing that the plan that was made needed to be executed to the letter.

“Your wish is my command” His minion nodded and did just as he asked showing up at Erin’s front door in the blink of an eye.

“See you soon baby...:” He smiled deviously setting down the package in front of the door… that was that.

Zack’s POV

It was early and I was having a cup of coffee staring at the clock… erin was on my mind and why? Why was I feeling so much when my girlfriend was asleep upstairs.

“Don’t be an idiot Zack” I told myself and heard someone knock on my door and when I answered it was Brooks.

“Hey man what’s up?” I asked and he looked a bit concerned.

“Something isn’t right and it was starting to get to me…” He said and I motioned for him to come inside and I grabbed him a cup of coffee for him sitting down at the kitchen table.

“What happened? What did you see?” I asked him curiously and he leaned in placing his arms on the table putting his hands together.

“I saw some random guy and he was like talking really bad to Erin and I saw you come in and it went away” He said and that was super confusing.

“We can’t do anything, Erin cannot find out about any of the guys” I said frantically and Brooks got really frustrated by my answer.

“I have a feeling she will find out, see you at the beach, just ya know… watch her a bit for her safety” He said to me before he left to get ready and now my whole morning was thrown off…

Erin’s POV

I was getting ready for the beach and honestly for the first time in years I felt more comfortable than I ever had. When I opened the door to leave and meet up with the group I saw a box lying on my doorstep but I was ready to leave so I shoved it inside and went along with the day. When I arrived the sun was amazing, the guys were having a good time and I just loved that it was a chill day.

“Erin what was Nebraska like?” Val asked and I made a face just thinking about it.

“Ugh Nebraska was freezing during the winter and would always snow… and then we had the worst humidity ever so summer was nasty… it was also just really boring out there… college towns and such, nothing worthwhile” I said and she just laughed cause she could tell that I definitely loved it out here more.

“And the men? Any hotties?” Michelle leaned over and came into the conversation.

“Oh yeah! What were they like Erin!?” Val asked and I just took a moment and I was trying to find my way out of this topic and fight back the tears that were coming…

“They were fine I guess, nothing special” I said and I was starting to think more about ‘him’ and my past and I was not ready to face the thoughts in my head. So I got up and grabbed my bag, shoes and towel and I left the beach without a word and when I got inside I couldn’t believe I was still thinking about this… I dropped my stuff and grabbed the package and my heart dropped when I opened it, reading the note inside.

There were photos of me inside the box… photos from dinner last night, pictures of everyone… I didn’t want this for them, to effect them in any way. I went upstairs and changed and lied down in bed thinking about all my options before I drifted off to sleep.

*I knew it was a nightmare because there was no way time turned back to this day… I walked down the hallway trying to be as quiet as possible but it wasn’t enough because I felt Jake throw me against the wall pinning me to it.
“How in the fuck could you do this to me you little bitch!?” He screamed at me and grabbed my chin forcing me to look him right in the eyes. A year before this happened I had just started dating Jake and we were happy… but what I didn’t know was that there was something bad about him… something powerful and that no person could even begin to comprehend…
“Jake just leave me alone! You brought this on yourself!” I whined trying to break from his grip.
“When I told you my secret you swore that you would keep your pretty little mouth shut! And what did you do?? You fucking betrayed me!” He yelled and landed a blow to my face*

I shot up from sleeping, sweating and breathing heavily, nearly in tears from remembering that… I ran my fingers through my hair and I tried to just breathe as I headed downstairs for a drink. I cleaned up the photos and placed the note back inside hiding the box and I jumped when I heard my doorbell.

“Who is it?” I asked nervously.

“It’s Zack” I heard and opened the door, he entered quickly and looked around like he was worried.

“You scared the shit out of me Erin! And Val thinks that she did something wrong! What the hell happened…” He said getting loud and then at the end he got quiet again.

“I think that I shouldn’t be friends with you and the band... honestly I just think it’s for the best…” I said to Zack and he was floored by what had just come out of my mouth. I went and opened the door and he just tilted his head to the side and I turned my gaze away from his and he walked out the door and I saw him look back but I just shut the door.

I had to keep my head straight…
This was all for the best.
