Erin’s POV

I moved the final box out and arranged the new decorative pieces in my house, this was a new start to my life and I was ready to go on with the new chapter. I re-read the note my uncle left in my house before I arrived.

‘I always knew that you’d make it here to California one day, so happy to support you in your new start.

I set the note in a box that kept previous notes and a few memories. I was thinking back to the previous months and before I got too deep the doorbell knocked me down a notch. I moved quickly to answer the door and I took a moment to register who was at my door…

“Hey there! We noticed you just moved in and thought we would pop in to meet the new girl of the neighborhood! I’m Lacey and this is my husband Jonathan” The brown haired beauty stated to me sweetly.

“Please, call me Johnny” He said extending his hand out to mine and I took it and his and then Lacey’s.

“I’m sorry I swear I am not as lame as it seems, I’m Erin Williams, Nebraska born, big fan of Avenged. Nice to meet you, both of you. Please come in!” I said motioning inside and they entered and started looking around.

“This is really nice, did you do all of this alone?” Lacey asked admiring the color scheme and my decor.

“Some of it was done by my uncle before I arrived here but mainly by myself yes, I have always wanted my place to be like this” I said feeling accomplished by getting my dream house.

“You’ve also got a room for music I see” Johnny stated happily pointing to the room filled with guitars and recording software.

“Oh yeah, I have always been a music freak, I actually got my first guitar to learn Seize the Day” I admitted and tried to keep myself from totally fangirling.

“Hey whoa relax, I am totally flattered and happy to meet a fan and someone who is passionate about music as well, although I don’t see a bass that is currently being used and that offends me!” He joked a bit with me and I giggled.

“I have always wanted to learn so I bought one, haven’t gotten there yet” I said and oddly I was a bit more calm than before.

“Sorry to break from music but we have dinner with the group tonight, maybe Erin would like to come and meet the other neighbors, well more like ‘hooligans’ as I say” Lacey said laughing a bit and I smiled widely but it felt wrong.

“I really appreciate the offer… but I don’t want to impose. I don’t think the guys want some random girl ruining their downtime” I said before Johnny could even give his opinion.

“Lacey give Val and Michelle a heads up that we are bringing Erin with us, I will keep those fuckers at bay, they’ll love you Erin don’t worry!” Johnny said rubbing my back for a moment and Lacey got on texting the girls right away.

“So, shopping?” Lacey asked putting her phone away and honestly, I wanted to so of course I agreed. We went to a few different stores just looking for the perfect outfit. I went for a two piece black outfit putting a silver studded leather jacket with it. I was fixing my hair as Lacey and I chilled at her place and she brought in some wine.

“Hey thank you for being so awesome to me, you and Johnny are so humble and honestly I am like so thankful for this” I said to her and she hugged me and smiled.

“The guys are super chill I promise, I’m sure with your love of music and definitely your fashion sense, you’ll fit right in with us!” She said and we finished up the wine before being taken to the restaurant by a personal driver. When we got out of the car I was instantly pulled into a hug by the Dibenedetto twins startling me a bit.

“Hi! I’m Val and this is my sister Michelle, Lacey has been messaging me about you for the past two hours! Gotta say I am loving that outfit on you!” Val giggled and Michelle agreed with her.

“You two are the queens of fashion, I am a huge fan of Saint Owen!” I said to them and they both lit up happily.

“Thank you so much! Now come meet everyone!” Michelle said and they pulled me right inside the doors where I saw the whole band conversing.

“Hey guys this is Erin! Our new neighbor!” Michelle introduced me and they all seemed as chill and sweet as Lacey said they were.

“Matt Sanders, happy to see a new face in the group!” Matt started off and gave me a shoulder hug, he moved me a little so I could meet Brooks and his wife.

“Hey, welcome, my name is Brooks and this is my wife Jen, we are thrilled to meet you” He said and shook my hand, he was formal and sweet. His wife hugged me and smiled, she seemed a bit more eccentric than he was.

“So great to meet you! I can’t wait to hang out!” Jen said and I nodded in agreement… I actually felt like everyone liked me so much. Brian moved past everyone getting impatient and he got his hug in just taking a good look at me.

“Syn Gates, but you can call me Brian, glad to have you here with us, you seem pretty badass” He said and I just giggled a little nervously. I was waiting and finally Zack came up to me… he seemed very… off?

“Zacky Vengeance, call me Zack” He said and he was very short with talking to me and I didn’t even get a word in.

“Meaghan, Zack’s girlfriend” She said stepping in from of him and looking me right in the eyes. She was colder than he was but I just brushed it off and started enjoying the night with them talking about music, tour and what was next for Avenged. I talked to them about my hometown and that I needed to escape and I felt that my old life was going nowhere. They got a brief look into my unfortunate happenings but after that I went back to talking with them about happy things… 3 hours later I was ready to call it a night.

“This was really great! Thank you all for welcoming me into the group, I need to head home now but thanks again” I said smiling widely and the moment I got up Val chimed in.

“Oh Erin! Come to the beach with us tomorrow! I will get your number from Lacey and text you before we head out there!” Val said happily and she got up and hugged me again.

“That sounds great! I will see you tomorrow!” I said and waved to everyone heading outside to grab a ride home and Zack came up behind me.

“Hey wait!” He called out and I turned around and looked into his eyes. It was silent for a moment but there was something there and I couldn’t put my finger on it.

“Zack… what?” I questioned.

“I umm… got a ride for you. Just wanted you to get home safe.” He said and I didn’t even know what to say to him.

“Thanks, I guess… umm, I will see you tomorrow” I said trying to figure out why things were the way they were.

“Yeah totally” He said and opened the door for me and I got in went home. When I got inside I changed and sat down on my couch… what a day..

Things were only just beginning though...

I chose to rewrite this after some big life changes, and I mean I missed the hell out of the story!
