Confession of a King

twenty two

“What’s your favorite color?” I asked the tall man sitting in front of me. It had been weeks since I actually saw him, between me being out of work and him being locked in solitary for biting someone.

He furrowed his brows and looked to the floor; his thinking face. It took him about a good minute before his head shot up and his eyes brightened, “I’m going to say orange! No… yellow! So bright and full of energy. I enjoy things that are bright and full of energy, Ivy. Like the sun. Like the stars. Like Mars!”

“Mars?” I laughed, “Is Mars bright and full of energy, Jimmy?”

“Have you ever seen it?” He looked at me, dumbfounded, “It is red… Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit. Yellow shmellow. I like anything bright and full of energy.”

“I am sure of it,” I smiled. “Yellow suits your personality. You are always on go. I can understand that.”

“What’s your favorite color, Ivy?” Jimmy questioned me, the look on his face that he was dying to know the answer to it.

I shrugged my shoulders, “I’m going to say gray.”

“Gray?” he let out a giggle. “Gray is not a color, Ivy. It is a shade. Pick a color… any color.”

“Gray is my color and I’m sticking to it,” I grinned at him while he continued to mutter on about how gray was not a color.

It had been a week since I came back. Since I was confronted by Sandy about something happening between Matt and I. Since Mr. Morgan sent me an e-mail about the incident report. Since my family pretty much disowned me for being impregnated by a murderer. Since I told Matt I loved him back. That was a lot for one week.

“I have information for you,” Jimmy snickered to himself.

I raised an eyebrow and turned off the tape recorder. I didn’t want to get Jimmy in trouble again, not after he killed Adam for Matt, which was actually for me. “What kind of information?”

He snickered again, “Word on the street is that Adam was working for some big gang lord, right?” I nodded and he continued, “Behemoth. That’s what Christ told me.”

“Christ was the one that told you?” I asked quietly.

“Oh, you thought that your knight in shining armor was the one that talked me into killing Adam?” There was that snicker again, “Oh, Ivy. You have much to learn about the gang world.”

I was relieved that the request didn’t come directly from Matt’s mouth. Obviously Matt was the one that relayed the news to his short, little henchmen to put out the request to Jimmy, but it made me feel better that Matt didn’t directly go up to Jimmy and tell him to kill Adam. I was sure there was probably some deal made somewhere, or sweet talking on Christ’s end, but that was between the two of them.

“What is the information, Jimmy?” I asked while biting my lip, nervous now that we were talking about Behemoth. I hadn’t heard his name in over a month.

“Patience,” Jimmy looked at me and nodded his head, then continued. “How did Behemoth learn about Shadows love for you? That’s the question without the answer. Right my dear, Ivy? Well, look. You would probably think that it came from another gang guy in this place… maybe Big G?”

I snarled, “I knew that pig was up to something the minute I fucking met him.”

Snickering, Jimmy rolled his eyes, “What did I say? Patience. It was not Big G, little lamb. You have been tricked by your own kind. This information was not leaked through the inmate’s cells. Through our half of the prison walls.”

“What are you saying?” I was confused, starting to grow heated. “My own kind?”

“There are good cops. There are bad cops. Some cops make deals with gang lords, Ivy. Your prince, Shadows, is not exactly one of those that is good with deals and cops. The cops hated him before and hate him more now. So the bad cops went out to find the one person that hated Shadows more than them,” Jimmy spoke, as if he was telling a story.

“And they went to find Behemoth…” I whispered, mostly to myself. My voice rose and I looked at Jimmy with wide eyes, “They are sacrificing my safety for the possibility of driving Matt into insanity.”

“Or getting him killed,” Jimmy responded.

“I need the name,” I growled. I knew who it was… who it had to have been, but I needed to hear it. I needed to know that son-of-a-bitch was using me and could possibly kill me, just to continue his torture of the father to my unborn child.

“They call me The Rev,” Jimmy snickered. “And this officer’s name rhymes with mine.”

I slammed my fist on my desk, “That fucking prick. How did you find this out?”

“Solitary. They think I’m crazy. They think that the walls are thick and that I can’t hear them. I heard it all, Ivy. I heard it all,” Jimmy nodded his head. “You need to get out of here.”

I frowned, “Jimmy, I can’t do that. I can’t leave. Not yet.”

“Soon, Ivy… before it is too late,” he sighed as the alarm went off on my phone, signaling that our time was up. “Talk to Shadows. He’ll know what to do.”

I nodded and got up from my seat. On my way to the door I paused and turned on my heel, facing Jimmy strapped in the chair. I smiled to myself and walked over to him, wrapping my arms around his long, lanky body and the chair, awkwardly hugging him and whispering thank you. I opened up the door and Billy came in, unshackling the inmate and throwing his cuffs on. Jimmy was escorted out of my room and I took the few minutes I had before Matt was coming in here to compose myself. I looked out my window, pulling back the black-out curtains that I had Matt install a while back when Red made a comment about seeing what went on in my office. God, I fucking hated him. If only I could kill him myself. Wait, Ivy… don’t think that way… I told myself it was pregnancy hormones making me contemplate murder. That made me feel better about the thought, at least. My mind wandered to how I was going to break this news to Matt, and came up with a plan. I needed him more than ever right now, in more ways than one. Knowing that someone who was on the legal side of the spectrum was plotting my death really had me on edge. I needed to be loved. Needed to be wanted. Then I could tell Matt everything I just found out.

Billy walked Matt into my office and I pulled myself from the window, closing the curtain behind me and facing the two men. Matt’s hazel eyes lit up when he saw me, a slight smile playing on his lips, his dimples faint. I returned the same smile, showing my teeth and licking over my bottom lip. Okay, Ivy, we need to make this work. If he had broken out of the restraints once before with Maria due to officer error, he could do it again.

“I know Mr. Morgan really wants him fully restrained in here, but I’d really appreciate it if you’d be nice enough to not do his ankle ones,” I looked at Billy, batting my eyelashes and making my eyes twinkle. I could feel Matt’s gaze on me harden, not liking that I was flirting with someone.

Billy nodded his head and smiled at me, “This can be our secret, pretty lady.”

I had found out from Sandy that Billy was the sole officer in here that didn’t believe that something was going on between Matt and I. I had also found out that he had a pretty solid crush on me. Everything that played on my advantage right now. When Billy sat Matt into the chair across from my desk and started to put on his wrist restraints, I made it a point to position my body very close to his own, so that his bicep was brushing against my thigh in my tight, black pants. Matt let out a growl when Billy noticed my position and looked up at me, smiling. He had barely tightened the restraint on Matt’s right wrist, and hadn’t even touched his left one.

“Ivy, would you be free for dinner some time?” Billy asked while standing up and making eye contact with me.

I took my hand and grabbed Matt’s left restraint. His hand grabbed my wrist and I lightly kicked him in the shin. He let go of my wrist and I put the restraint lightly over his own, making it seem like he was locked in the chair. “I’ll see if I can free up some time for you,” I smiled, sweetly. “I do need to get to work though.”

“Absolutely,” Billy beamed and exited the room, closing the door behind him.

I went over and locked the door, feeling Matt burning holes into the back of my head with every step I took. After locking the door I stood at it for a few minutes, waiting for the sound of the restraint popping. Soon enough it sounded, and two tattooed, muscular arms wrapped around my waist, pulling me into a hard chest.

“If you ever flirt with a guy in front of me again I will kill him, and you,” Matt whispered in my ear, then nipped at it.

I laughed and shifted myself in his arms so that I was facing his hazel eyes, a glint of jealousy and anger in them, a glint of Shadows. “You’re so sexy when you’re jealous,” I purred out, running my hand down his abdomen, stopping when it got to the top of his pants. “Do you really think I would ever want someone else when I have all of,” I smirked at him and slipped my hand into his boxers, grabbing him, “this?”

“Come here,” he growled, pulling me closer to him, pressing his lips to mine in a rough kiss. This kiss was hungry. There were teeth involved, pulling at each other’s bottom lips and taking nips of each other’s skin. I had longed for the feeling of his skin on mine in this manner, regardless of how loved I wanted to feel earlier. I wanted him, all of him. Matt and Shadows. I wanted them both.

He let out out a moan in my mouth as my hand stroked him up and down. It didn’t take long for me to have enough of flicking my wrist. I pulled my mouth from his and dropped to my knees, ripping his pants down to his legs and wasting no time to put all of him in my mouth. I looked up at that beautiful face, his hazel eyes locked on the movement of my head. He threw his own back and growled out a few curse words when I reached the base, gagging lightly. His left hand grasped the hair at my scalp, twisting it and taking control of my everything. He looked back down at me, locking his eyes in mine again as he began to guide my head at his chosen pace, groaning to himself as I moaned around him, telling me how beautiful I looked on my knees. A few more pumps with my mouth, and he pushed me back down to the base again, another gag erupting from me. I was then practically lifted off the ground by my hair and thrown onto my desk, my pants coming down quickly. He positioned me how he wanted me. My backside in the air, facing him, my chest and face pushed into the desk, that hand still in my hair, my back arched almost painfully.

It didn’t take long for him to slam into me, the hand that was in my hair now covering my mouth and muffling my screams of pleasure. His other hand was busy leaving bruises on my hip, holding me in place while he had his way with me. We hadn’t had rough, animalistic sex, in what felt like an eternity, even if it had only been three weeks ago. I was in heaven. I was in pure dominating, aggressive, Shadows heaven. The hand covering my mouth moved to my throat and pulled me toward him, my upper back now touching his chest, my head falling back and onto his shoulder with a low moan. I was so into the way I was feeling, I almost didn’t notice his lips on my jaw, making their way over to my lips slowly. I turned my head and allowed my lips to meet his, our kiss not matching up with the sex. Our kiss was soft, it was loving, it was caring. That was all Matt… all vulnerable Matt. Matt breathed out that he loved me against my lips, and I replied against his. He then embedded that hand back into my hair and pushed my face down onto the desk again, slamming into me harder until we both came moments later.

After we were done, cleaned up as best as possible and dressed, Matt allowed me to put the restraints on his wrists so that it didn’t look like he busted out of them. His chest rose up and down, still catching his breath, as he sat across my desk from me. My breathing matched his, my thoughts tracing back to the small human in my uterus. He still didn’t know about what was going on, but soon it would be time to tell him. We had other things to worry about right now, like both of us staying alive enough to have and see this kid.

“You look like you have something on your mind,” Matt spoke, softly, studying my face.

I pursed my lips and nodded, knowing what I was about to bring up was going to stir the pot of his emotions, “Red was the one that told Behemoth about us.”

“Excuse me?” Matt’s voice boomed, his eyebrows flying up and his fists clenching. “That’s the final straw. He’s a dead man.”
