Crossroads

This Is Now Your Life

Brian's POV

Roxanne had wanted to get on the road as soon as possible, but I desperately needed a shower, I hadn't had one since I'd left Orange County. The water pressure in the bunker was heavenly, and for a moment, I almost forgot how I'd wound up here. Reality hit me like a ton of bricks again once I shut the water off.

I was miles away from home, in a strange place, trying to come to terms with the fact that just about every evil thing I had ever heard stories about and watched movies about, really existed. Vampires, Werewolves, Ghosts, Shape-Shifters, Zombies, something called a Wendigo, and a Rugaru. Though of course, I had already known that Demons existed. I'd known that since I had first summoned Crowley for my own selfish gain. Angels had come as a surprise, though. And Castiel was not what I had imagined when I thought of the celestial beings.

The life I'd led since that night in 1999 had been a wild ride, but had passed in the blink of an eye. Ten years of living luxuriously, travelling around the world and playing sold-out shows to thousands of screaming fans. Ten years of writing music, touring, writing, touring again, and finally maturing to a point where I'd wanted to settle down. All that had been torn away from me when Michelle had died.

Rage burned through my veins at the thought, a lust for vengeance igniting within me. I would find the demon that killed her, and I would kill them slowly, painfully. I would make them suffer the way Michelle had suffered, as the flames had licked away at her until there was nothing left. Not even a body. Nothing but a pile of ashes.

I turned the door handle of one of many bedrooms within the bunker, where I'd taken up temporary residence for the time being. It was a simple room; stone grey walls and white linoleum, a few historic photographs hanging on the walls. A wooden desk and chair sat in one corner, topped by a small green lamp, an old leather-bound journal and a pen. All of which were covered in a layer of dust. In the centre of the room, pushed against the wall, was a double bed with plain beige-coloured sheets.

I made my way over to the bed where my discarded clothes laid and cringed at the smell. They reeked of three-day-old sweat, cigarettes and whiskey. But I had no other clothes. Grasping at the towel I'd secured around my waist, I left the room and walked down the hallway to the main area of the bunker. Roxanne sat at the table, her elbow resting upon the surface, hunched over Sam's laptop and twirling a lock of her wild brown hair around her finger.

"Hey." I said, clearing my throat to get her attention.
"What?" she asked, not taking her eyes off the screen.
"My clothes stink and I have nothing else to wear."
"So?" she shrugged, still fixated on the laptop.
"You think there'd be some spare clothes laying around here?"
"Maybe." She let out a frustrated sigh, finally giving me her attention.

Her eyes widened at the sight of me, scanning my body briefly, before she shook her head and quickly closed the laptop, getting up from her chair. She passed me quickly, and I got the hint to not get any ideas from her reaction. Still, I smirked to myself as I followed her down the hall. Shit as my current circumstances were, it was slightly comforting to know that I still had an impact on women. She led me to another of the bedrooms and rummaged through the dresser.

"Here, these are Deans, but they should fit you." she said, holding a pile of clothes out to me. "You guys look to be around the same build."
"Thank you." I smiled.
"Yeah, whatever." she shrugged. "Just get dressed so we can get going."
"Okay, your Highness." I replied as she walked away.

I went back into my room to change and was slightly taken aback when I saw my reflection in the mirror. My hair had dried in its natural curls - sticking out at weird angles and devoid of the usual shine in the absence of hair products, and light stubble had begun to form along my jaw, adding to the usual scruff under my chin. I wore Dean's smokey-grey jeans instead of my usual black, a black t-shirt with a round neckline instead of the V-necks I always wore, and a red plaid flannel shirt draped over top.

A knock came at the door.

"You decent?"
"Yeah."
Roxanne opened the door and leaned against the frame, folding her arms. "Well, you certainly look like a Hunter now." she smirked. "But question is, can you do the job?"

Notes

We all know Brian was absolutely killin' it in that red plaid jacket at the Grammy Museum, so I decided to throw him in Dean's clothes from the episode "Who We Are"

It's about time he donned the official Hunter's dresscode, and we know that means Flannel, lots of it :P

Sorry that I've been absent for so long. I have spent the past month Binge-Watching the FUCK out of Supernatural and catching up. Hence the lack of updates. But Krampus left me on a high, and I MET MARK SHEPPARD!! CROWLEYYY!!

And I got to go to Karaoke with the actors who play Gabriel, Gadreel, Abaddon, Young John Winchester and Rowena later in the evening, it was the BEST!! I'll be going back to Melbourne again in June, for All Hell Breaks Loose 9, AND HOPEFULLY I'LL GET TO MEET MISHA COLLINS!! MUCH EXCITE!

Annnd I bought myself a little scale model of The Impala aka "Baby" for Christmas

Isn't she beautiful?

Anyways, now that I'm all caught up, I'll hopefully be updating a bit more often. I also have some more stuff in store for Roxanne as I'm taking my Cosplay of her waaay too seriously and have started my own Hunter's Journal for her, to colour in her backstory a bit more. I may or may not post it here, would you guys even be interested in that? Since it's more of a prequel and has little to nothing to do with Avenged?? Let me know.
Otherwise, just stalk my Tumblr: http://ghost-on-a-sea-of-wine.tumblr.com/tagged/Hunter%27s-Journal

But okay, I'm gonna wrap up what's easily the longest Author's note in history
See ya'll next time!! xx

And maybe get my Hunter's Journal signed by Jim Beaver ^_^

I wanted to do the photo op so bad but I was paying for two people at the convention. The conventions are so much fun.

its about time Brian gets in the hunters dress code. Plaid and flannel all the way.

@M Shadows;
If you ever have a chance to go to a Supernatural convention, I highly encourage it! They're absolutely wonderful, I was almost in tears of happiness the entire time.
And I'm so glad you enjoy this story so much. ^_^
