Sunny Disposition

He pulled away, and removed a strand of hair from my face, staring straight into my eyes. Slowly our faces began moving towards each other's again, I didn't want this, I really didn't want this - but it seemed almost impossible to stop. The taste of his sweet minty breath enchanted me as it sighed around my lips. His soft lips seemed to fit perfectly in mine, making my heart flutter uncontrollably. He was so gentle, so cautious. It was only a moment before he pulled away, with a straight face. I've never been with anybody since Matt, and I felt like I had done the worst and cheated on him - even though we had been separated for years.I'd had dates, a few awkward one night stands - but nothing serious. It felt so so wrong.

But so right.

"Brian," I sighed pushing him away slightly. "What was that?" I frowned, talking peacefully.

"I'm s-"

"No, I don't want you to apologize to me just don't do that" I ordered, frightened to show him that it could have been the best and most heated kiss of my life. "I know you're going through a hard time and we've missed each other, just - don't do stupid things like that"

Brians POV

"Okay," I frowned. A frown full of sadness and desperation perhaps. I could hardly believe what did to Sophia. I didn't regret it. Somewhat, shocked at myself for doing it. Matt would kill me if he found out I kissed 'his girl'. She's a girl I've always had feelings for, nothing major - but the moment I saw her, something just told me to do it. We (she..) decided to forget about the whole situation and grab a drink whilst Zack, Matt and Johnny were in their hotel rooms getting ready for something or other - and have a long and awaited catch up.

I slumped down on a chair. She walked up to the bar and took the stool next to mine. Her medium length hair framing her heart shaped face was auburn, probably tinted to hide any trace of self believed grey. Her eyes were grey, too. Her skin was fair with a few freckles, smooth with only the beginning of a few worried wrinkles. Her perfume was light and sensual and suited her perfectly.

"So," I coughed.

“So..” She replied turning her attention to her drink that had just arrived. It was one of those fruity things with both a fruit skewer and a paper umbrella. We sat in silence waiting to see if the conversation would go any further. My eyes were drawn to her and he couldn’t resist just looking at her. She let out a long labored sigh.

“You're gawking..” She looked straight into my eyes with thousands of traces full of emotion, both happy and sad.

“I’m sorry.” I stammered averting my eyes back to my drink. But within a minute I found myself looking at her again.

“What is it?” She demanded. “Why are you staring at me?” she chuckled, fiddling with the umbrella on her glass.

“Nothing," I laughed back. "You've just changed so much, it feels so weird to see you again"

"Yeah, I know - it's crazy. One minute I'm thinking what it would be like to be with you all again, now I am, and nothing feels different. It just feels normal"

"You and Matt?"

"Well, no - but, being around him again, and you - it's normal. Even though you snogged my face off, and Matt sobbed his eyes out" she chuckled. "It's still normal. I just expect the guys and Jimmy to walk down those stairs an' I know that isn't gonna happen - and that seems to be the only weird thing about it"

"God," I shook my head with disbelief. "I'm dreading tomorrow Soph, I don't think that I can put myself through it"

"You need to," she added. "We, need to"

The morning slowly passed, still with no sight of Matt, Zack nor Johnny. It was almost like me and Sophia had the whole morning catching up and sharing stories. I found out that Sophia part-time taught music in a high school, 3 days a week. She told me how badly she hated it, the kids at the school, she told me about her dog, her mom, her house, her car.. everything. Then the conversation, somehow fell onto the unfortunate subject of Matt.

"Has he met anyone?" she pushed, nosily. "Like, anything serious or anything?"

"No," I huffed. "We're all lady free" I playfully chuckled, hoping to switch over the conversation.

Finally, and in time, the 3 guys came into the bar after a couple of hours.

"Drinking already?" Johnny smiled, walking over to Sophia with wide and open arms. She dashed out of her chair and sped towards him, hugging him tightly. Zacky had the happiest smile on his face, so did Matt - which in turn made me smile. I realized at that moment, we'd never smiled since James died last week, and how we really needed her.

Matt's POV

Staring at her, smiling and laughing so beautifully yet at the same time so unfeminine, as her laugh howled sillier than a room filled with cackling witches - All I could simply say to myself was; 'I need her back'. And I'd do anything to have her back.
