Girl I Know

An Eventful Breakfast

I woke up in the early afternoon, on a couch in a location I was unaccustomed to, it was only then that I realized that Casey and Savannah were camped out around me on separate couches. I groaned stretching as I reached for my phone that was dead. “Great,” I mumbled as I slowly got up off the couch and stood stretching my arms above my head standing on my tip toes. I noticed someone on the back deck and made my way out there as Casey and Savannah continued to sleep comfortably.

“Morning,” I mumbled to Matt who jumped as I announced my presence.

“Morning,” He nodded at me smiling. It was then that I noticed he had really pretty eyes to accompany those cute dimples. “Sleep well?”

“Yeah, what the fuck happened?” I asked as I leaned on the railing, shading my eyes.

“Well,” he chuckled, “you girls got a little too drunk to drive, which is cool, we didn’t mind, we just didn’t want you leaving and possibly getting hurt so we had you sleep over.”

I laughed, “Well that explains the headache. I usually don’t get hangovers though.” He handed me his aviators. I smiled and took them gratefully slipping them on, they were a little big for my face but shaded a little bit of the sunlight.

“You hungry?” Matt asked as he leaned against the railing crossing his arms.

“Yeah, I could eat, plus, I know those two are gonna be hungry when they wake up. Got any pancake mix? We could make food for everyone then send the wake up call?” I said being thoughtful of everyone.

He nodded, “I believe we do, also believe we have a couple dozen eggs and some bacon that we can whip up as well. Which do you wanna be in charge of?”

“Pssh, Pancakes are my bitch. You can do the eggs and bacon,” I smirked at him and walked back in handing him his shades.

He laughed and showed me around the kitchen, grabbing the pancake mix down for me and grabbed me a big mixing bowl/cup thing and electric griddle then set me up on the counter while he took over the gas stove and set to work for scrambled eggs and bacon. “So where are you originally from?” Matt asked me as we set to work cooking.

I laughed, “Not gonna let that one go are you?” I asked recalling he tried to ask the same question last night, I added water to the pancake batter in the bowl.

He laughed and I gotta admit, it was one of those deep laughs that I couldn’t help but smile at, “Nope, I feel that you know us better than we know you. So spill munchkin,” he smirked at me.

I gaped at him, “I’m not a munchkin.” I stirred the batter for the pancakes.

He laughed again, “You’re only what, like 5’5? And maybe 21? Shit…you are legal right?” He suddenly looked a little nervous.

I laughed, “Yes I’m legal! I’m 23! And I’m 5 foot 6!” I gently smacked his bicep with the spatula. As the electric skillet finally heated up and was hot enough for me to spray and put the batter on.

He put his hands up in a defensive way, “Alright, alright.” He chuckled, “Still a munchkin to me though. I’m like 6 foot and 26.”

I rolled my eyes and laughed, “May wanna tend to the bacon before you get grease burns on you,” I said as the grease popped and hit his arm.

“Ow, shit!” he said as he quickly flipped the bacon.

I laughed, “Told you.” I smirked at him and flipped the pancakes. He pouted at me and I rolled my eyes, “Missouri.”

“What?” He asked looking at me completely confused.

“Keep up,” I snapped my fingers playfully and laughed. “Savannah and I are from Missouri. From what I know of Casey, she’s from around here. She is actually 25, went to school here.”

“Oh,” Matt nodded, “I thought she looked familiar. Does she have any older siblings?”

“Yeah, an older brother, but I can’t remember his name, he’s not around much since their parents died,” I shrugged as I looked around for plates to put finished products on.

“Second cupboard to the left,” Matt directed me. I followed his directions and found 2 big plates and a large bowl for the eggs.

“Thanks,” I smiled at him as I flipped the pancakes again letting them get a little darker on the original side to make them even.

“I smell bacon,” Zacky said as he stumbled into the kitchen.

I laughed, “Morning to you too Bright eyes.”

“Morning,” he yawned and grinned at me.

“Shit I forgot the coffee,” Matt mumbled noticing the coffee pot hadn’t kicked on.

“I got it,” Zacky smiled as he got up and walked over near me at the counter, “Pancakes look amazing and smell amazing. How did you sleep?” He asked as he set up the coffee pot and got everything going.

“Well, thank-you,” I smiled and moved the first batch of pancakes off the skillet and onto the plate I had set out as Matt moved the first batch of bacon onto a plate covered by paper towels and set to work on the second batch. “How about you?”

“Not bad,” He smiled and turned on the coffee pot after pouring the water in. “We should probably set up the second coffee pot since everyone’s probably gonna need a cup.”

Matt nodded, “Definitely will need the second one today.”

Zacky reached down under the island and pulled out a second 12 cup coffee pot and set it up the same as he had with the first one as I flipped the second batch of pancakes. “What time is it?” I heard someone meekly ask from the doorway.

I looked over and saw Savannah standing there stretching, her hair going everywhere, as she rubbed her eyes. I laughed, “Uhm, about 2?” I looked over at Matt for confirmation.

“About 2:30,” he nodded in confirmation as he tried to hide the smile that had begun to spread across his face.

“What are y’all laughing at?” Savannah asked, her southern accent really coming out to play this morning.

The boys broke out into huge smiles at the use of y’all and the southern drawl and I shook my head, “May wanna put your hair up sweetheart,” I smiled at her.

She gaped at me and instantly reached for her hair tie around her wrist, she had forgotten her hair was in a bun last night and instantly pulled it up in a bun, “Shut up!” she yelled at the boys flustered.

I laughed softly, “I’m sorry baby, come have a seat, pancakes, bacon, eggs, and coffee are almost ready.”

She came over and took a seat at the island bar stools as she subtly watched Matt’s backside as he turned back to cooking. I shook my head laughing. Matt raised an eyebrow at me, “What?”

“Nothing,” I smirked and flipped the pancakes again as he finished the second batch of bacon then began working on the eggs. “I think one more batch of pancakes should be good, don’t you?”

“Yeah, we usually eat 3 or 4 each, there’s what, 6 in a batch?” Zacky asked.

“Yeah, about that,” I nodded, there were actually 5 in a batch, but yeah, close enough.

“Yeah, 4 times 5,” Zacky got to thinking then looked thoughtful, “Let’s do a couple more, just in case,” he grinned innocently.

I laughed and nodded, “Wanna make more batter?”

He nodded, “Sure.” He went over to the sink pulled out another bowl from the cupboard and mixed more batter together as Savannah pulled out milk, orange juice, butter, ketchup, and tabasco and set it on the large table in the dining room.

“Where are plates?” She asked everyone.

“Second cupboard,” All of us answered nodding in the direction and she laughed amused.

“Thanks,” she grabbed the plates and set them out in the 7 spots around the table. “Silverware?”

“Right here in front of me,” Matt said as he nodded down and stepped towards me, careful not to step on my feet.

She came over and opened the drawer, catching him in the groin with the corner, Matt halfway dropped the floor, “OH MY GOD!’ Savannah yelled embarrassed. Zacky and I laughed as Matt grabbed onto the counter top.

“Mother fucker,” he stepped back from the stove top so he didn’t burn himself.

“I’m so sorry,” she said as she instantly turned to him trying to aide him.

“I’ll be okay,” He tried to assure her.

Savannah truly felt horrible about it and I shook my head as I finished the 3rd batch, “Got that batter done Zacky?”

“Yeah,” he handed me the new bowl. I poured it into the mixing bowl, knowing it’d be easier to measure out and smiled at him kissing his cheek. “Thank-you sweets.”

He chuckled blushing, “No problem.”

“I’m seriously alright,” Matt laughed at a crimson Savannah, “I promise, no harm done. I can still walk.”

“Are you sure?” Savannah asked as they went back to the silverware.

“Yeah, I’m good,” Matt laughed.

“Alright,” Savannah shook her head and grabbed silverware and went back to setting the table as Matt turned around watching her movements chuckling and shaking his head.

“She’s a mother hen,” I laughed as he nodded.

“Noticed,” He laughed. “Hey Zack, grab the cheese out of the fridge please?”

“Yeah no worries,” Zacky went to the fridge and grabbed the shredded cheese and came over to Matt and handed the bag to him. Matt added the entire bag of cheese to the eggs.

I laughed, “You like your eggs with your cheese Mattie boy?”

He laughed, “I’m sorry, it came out a little fast.”

“I SMELL FOOD!” Jimmy came bounding into the kitchen running into Savannah who shrieked in surprise.

“Yes sir,” I laughed, “Pancakes, eggs, bacon, and coffee at your service.”

“PANCAKES!” Jimmy smiled reminding me of a little kid.

“Hey Jim, why don’t you go wake up the others and we’ll eat? Eggs are just about done as soon as the cheese melts on them,” Matt smiled at his friend.

“Alright!” Jimmy ran out of the room waking up Casey on the way out.

“I’M FUCKING UP ALREADY!” Casey screamed at him. I shook my head laughing.

“She’s definitely not one to be woken up,” I laughed shaking my head.

“No she’s not,” Savannah agreed as she sat there looking around, “Where are the mugs for the coffee?”

“Right here,” Matt handed her a mug from one of the cupboards behind his head, not wanting to get hit by a door again more than likely.

“Thanks,” She gave him her cute smile as she poured herself coffee. “Is there sugar?”

“Yeah, right here,” Zacky handed her a small jar and Matt handed her a spoon.

“Awesome,” She took the items and went over to the table picking her seat happily. Matt took the eggs off the stove top, pouring them into their bowl and put a large serving spoon in it and then carried it over to the table along with the plate of bacon.

I finished the 4th batch of pancakes, started the final batch then carried the pancakes I had done over to the table before grabbing a mug out of the cupboard and fixing my coffee. Zacky stood next to me watching my process, “So, are you coming to the show tonight?”

“I had planned on it,” I grinned, “So long as this guy that invited me doesn’t get me drunk again and take advantage of me.”

“I didn’t take advantage!” He laughed.

I chuckled, “Didn’t you? A girl could have a lot of trouble if her phone dies,” I teased him. “Just kidding.” I tacked on knowing damn well I didn’t care if my phone died or not.

“Morning,” Casey mumbled grumpily as she walked in.

“Morning,” everyone answered her.

Slowly one by one everyone came in the kitchen, “Who the fuck sicked Jimmy on everyone to wake them the fuck up?” Brian asked coming in. Apparently he wasn’t one to be woken up either.

“Matt,” I grinned.

“You’re so getting payback for that later Shads,” He grumbled as I grabbed a mug and handed him coffee.

“Thank-you doll,” he smiled gratefully at me. “But isn’t this my house? Aren’t I the one who’s supposed to dish up the breakfast and beverages?”

“You were sleeping, figured I’d help myself and dish it out for you,” I grinned at him.

He laughed and nodded, “You’re hired, when can you start?”

“30 minutes ago.” I grinned and flipped the pancakes.

“Can I have some coffee too please?” Casey asked me putting on her puppy face.

“You can have mine,” Brian smiled and handed her his before grabbing a new cup out of the cupboard and pouring himself more. “Vengeance, make another pot.”

“Jesus, did I turn into Christ over night?” Zacky threw his hands up into the air. I raised an eyebrow at him curiously. “We all have our stage names, I’m Zacky Vengeance, Matt’s Matt Shadows, Brian is Synyster Gates, Jimmy is The Rev, and Johnny is Johnny Christ. Usually as the youngest, Johnny gets asked to do the annoying tasks.”

I laughed and shook my head, “What a big baby you are Bright eyes,” I teased him.

“She called you out Zee,” Brian laughed and Johnny nodded.

“That she did, I like her, can we keep her?” Johnny grinned as he came up and grabbed a mug and poured himself a cup of coffee.

“I’m a packaged deal boys, you keep me you gotta keep my girls too,” I winked at Savannah who was already engaged in a conversation with Matt and Casey was talking to Jimmy who was animatedly waving his hands all over the place in the middle of a story. I shook my head laughing, I had the feeling this was the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

I knew something like this was going to happen, but it still makes me sad. Savannah and Matt were so cute together and I loved Tennessee and Zacky.

Fuck Casey. She's a cunt
