Selfish Beneath The Skin

1. We've All Been More Than Eager To Sin

April, 2008
Long Beach, CA.

“Oh. My. God. That was the best experience of my life!” Eden squealed as we poured out of the venue amongst a crowd of other people.
“I can’t believe we were so close!” I shared her excitement. We had just seen our favourite band Avenged Sevenfold play live, they had recorded the whole show for a live DVD and we had made it to the third row, which was beyond a dream come true for us.
“So. Close!” Eden breathed, her hazel eyes still wide with euphoria, “Close enough to see Shads huge bulge! I mean did you look at it, Am? He’s well hung. I would not mind seeing what’s underneath those jeans…,” I could see in her face that she was imaging that very sight.
“You know he’s not my type,” I laughed at her.
“Amelia, honey, how can anyone say that M. Shadows is not their type? He’s like a god! A sexy god…a sex god, I bet!” Eden purred, her mind clogged up with all things M. Shadows.
“He’s good looking, just not my type,” I repeated, “Synyster Gates on the other hand…,”
“Hmm…whatever floats your boat!” She laughed as we headed away from the venue.
“He definitely does,” I nodded dreamily.
“Whatever, I think we need a drink,” Eden announced, leading me in the direction of the nearest bar. I followed my friend, both of us still buzzing with excitement from the experience we had just shared.
Eden led me to a crowded, loud bar that I had never been to but it seemed as though she knew it well, which didn’t surprise me. Eden was the type of girl who never said no. She loved a party, an excuse to drink, a wild night out. Anywhere that there was alcohol and music and cigarettes and guys; Eden would want to be there. She was a bit of a wanderer; she never held a job or an apartment for very long and she liked to go off exploring – usually with guys she’d just met – but would always return to see me in Long Beach.
Myself, on the other hand, I was the opposite of Eden. I had gone to college straight from school when Eden had been off exploring Europe. I had a passion for photography and so had studied it at college and was now trying to start my own business as a professional photographer while also working in Forever 21 to pay for my apartment while I tried to establish my career.
Somehow, despite our differences, Eden and I had remained friends. We met in kindergarten. I remember it well as that was when I first experienced the type of person she was. This popular girl, Jasey, had brought in a brand new doll and was teasing Eden, saying that she would never have one. Eden lost her temper and the doll lost her head. I was the only witness. So when Jasey and Eden told two different stories, our teacher came to me to settle the case. And I backed up Eden’s story. I knew it was a lie but there was something about Eden, I liked her and I wanted to stand up for her. From that day on we were best friends and I knew that she would always have my back. Sometimes I’d think about how I shouldn’t have lied about the doll when I knew Eden had pulled her head off but then I would reassure myself because Jasey was bullying Eden, she had provoked her.
Now here we were; me trying to sort my life out and Eden still living on the wild side. We would go ages without seeing each other and yet when she came back into my life and crashed on my couch, we would pick up where we left off like no time had passed.
“I can’t believe they finished with A Little Piece of Heaven!” I was sat at the bar, still in awe over the show we’d just seen.
“Critical Acclaim was so badass,” Eden agreed, “And like, how do you think you get a job as one of those Scream dancers?”
“Is that your next career move?” I laughed.
“Can’t you imagine me, up shaking my ass beside M. Shadows, every night?!” She laughed, slipping off the bar stool and shaking her hips at me, “Onstage and off…,” She added with a wink.
“You only think of one thing,” I laughed as Eden passed me a shot that she had just ordered. I threw my head back as I took it and immediately she was placing another in front of me.
“When it comes to Shadows, yeah, he is the ideal man!” She laughed and ordered us another round of drinks. She could drink like a camel and so never thought twice and would buy me the same amount of alcohol as her until I could barely stand.
“I’m gonna go see if they have any Avenged on the jukebox,” She grinned, walking away from me, flipping her long dark hair over her shoulder as she went. I rolled my eyes and picked up my drink, sipping it slowly. I’d finished the drink by the time my friend returned, I looked round a few times to check on her and saw she was chatting to a tall, muscly guy with a beard and lots of tattoos; pretty much Eden’s type. She came bounding over after ten minutes, her eyes sparkling.
“More shots!” She exclaimed, buying eight. I shook my head and we worked our way down the line of tequila, one by one, until we had had four each.
“Wow, that last one,” I laughed and winced at my friend as I threw the last wedge of lime down on the bar.
“You need to practice handling your drink Amelia,” Eden laughed and I saw her eyes flick past me and focus on something behind me. The next thing I knew, the guy she’d been chatting up had his arm around her and was speaking quietly into her ear, making her giggle. I awkwardly checked my phone and looked around the bar as they flirted in front of me, ignoring me completely. As much as I loved Eden, she had her flaws; she could be manipulative at times and selfish. It never used to be that apparent to me but the older we got the more I began to realise how she could bend people to her will, she was just had that type of character. And although she could be the sweetest, most thoughtful friend, Eden was always looking out for number one.
“Am, Heath here is gonna take me up the coast, he’s got this spot he wants to show me. Says it’s beautiful in the moonlight. We’re gonna ride up on his Harley, that okay?” Eden smiled after ten minutes of kissing and whispering with her new bearded friend.
“Uh, yeah,” I nodded. I was kind of glad, the shots were making me feel a bit ill.
“Great! Thank you Am! I’ll see you tomorrow,” She grinned, hopping off her bar stool to follow this guy, Heath, “You know how I love men with motorbikes!” She added, kissing my cheek before running out of the bar.
I sighed, slipping off my own stool and zipping my hooded jumper up before heading out of the bar. I couldn’t quite work out where we were in relation to my apartment so I started to head back toward the Long Beach Arena where we’d seen A7X play earlier as I knew my way from there.
As I walked through the fresh air I could feel the alcohol that I had consumed had gone to my head and it didn’t help that I hadn’t eaten in several hours. I was heading around the side of the arena, a short cut towards the East Village where I stayed, when I saw someone approaching.
“Hey, excuse me, are you from here?” A familiar sounding voice came from a figure in a dark hooded jacket. Wearily I tightened my grip on my phone in case I needed help and wrapped my other hand around my keys.
“Yes,” I nodded as they got closer.
“Where’s the nearest hotel?” He asked as he got even closer to me before stopping in front of me. I looked up into the face of the guy, his hood up. My mind was jumping to conclusions; at least see what he looks like in case you need to describe him to the police. And then I realised who I was speaking to.
“Oh,” I answered, staring at him, my mouth open.
“Or it doesn’t have to be that close,” He shrugged.
“You’re Synyster Gates!” I gasped finally managing to string some words together. I could feel my heart beating fasters and between the excitement of meeting my musician and the tequila shots I was feeling warm and kind of ill.
“You know who I am,” Gates nodded, pulling his hood down.
“I’m a huge fan!” I told him, “I was at the show, it was incredible!”
“Well…thank you,” He smiled, “Look, I really need a place to stay, do you think you could walk me to the nearest hotel? I wouldn’t mind the company.”
“Of course,” I nodded, I was freaking out.
“So what’s your name?” He asked me as we started to walk.
“Amelia,” I smiled, in awe.
“Pretty,” He smiled back and I felt like I might faint. “So just a place to stay, maybe not the most obvious one, I don’t want anyone to find me,” He told me.
“Oh,” I replied. “How come?”
“The guys are all heading back to Huntington Beach with friends and family, I had a fight with…someone and I think I’d rather head back tomorrow,” Syn explained to me.
“Okay,” I nodded, feeling embarrassed that I had pried for the information, “You know, I have a spare bed if you want to crash? No one will know,” I said. Why had I just offered that?! Way to sound like a creepy fangirl, Amelia.
“You know, that would be great! Just don’t like…tell the internet where I am or whatever right?” He laughed and raised an eyebrow at me.
“Oh, no, I wouldn’t,” I shook my head.
We made small talk all the way to my apartment. He asked about my favourite songs from the show and my favourite songs in general and asked what I did for a living. Having a few drinks in me, I babbled on, talking away to him. When we got to my apartment, I led him upstairs and opened my front door. As I stepped in, I tripped up and felt his arms catch me before I fell flat on my face.
“Thank you,” I breathed, turning my head to see my face was inches from mine.
“You gotta be a little more careful,” He said softly.
“Blame the tequila,” I laughed lightly, suddenly conscious that he could probably smell it on my breath. Focussing I realised that I could smell whiskey on his breath, I hadn’t noticed him seemed particularly drunk on our walk but then again I was a bit drunk and not as observant as usual. I looked up and our eyes met just moments before our lips then also met.
Wondering if I was dreaming, I let Synyster Gates kiss me, he pushed me against the wall of my apartment, kicking the door shut behind us. His hands ran down my body, pulling my jumper off down my arms and dropping it on the floor.
He lifted his mouth from mine and started to plant kisses down my neck, which made me gasp. After a minute or so more, he placed his hands around my thighs and pulled me up his body so that my legs wrapped round his waist.
“Where’s the bedroom?” He breathed in a low sexy tone.
“That one,” I showed him and he carried me through to my room, placing me down on the bed before crawling on top of me and pulling at my clothes to get them off. I kissed him more, still in disbelief of what was happening and knowing that I’d probably wake up from this dream any moment.
He had me down to my underwear and he’d pulled off his clothes so was just in his boxers, his hard erection obvious. He then pulled them off so that he was now naked. Synyster fucking Gates, naked in my bed. This had to be a crazy dream. Gasping, he slipped a hand into my underwear, stroking me with his fingers and feeling how wet I’d become.
“Oh my god Syn,” I gasped.
“Yeah baby,” He breathed, pulling my panties down my legs and slipping himself into me in one quick motion. I moaned loudly and realised this was definitely not a dream.

The next morning I woke to the sound of a phone going off. I sighed as I realised I had a splitting headache and the sound wasn’t helping. I opened my eyes and focused on the figure getting dressed in my room. I gasped. Synyster Gates had actually slept me last night. There he was in just jeans, searching around for his clothes. I glanced over and saw that the vibrating noise that had woken me was coming from a phone that was beside me on the bedsheets. The screen was lit up with the icon for a missed call, beside that the number 27. And call number 28 was coming through right then, the caller I.D. reading ‘Michelle’.
“Thanks for list night,” Syn’s voice broke through my thought bubble as he grabbed the phone from the bed. I looked up at him, unsure what to say. He waited a moment before mumbling a goodbye and heading from my bedroom. Moments later I heard the front door open and close. That was it; Synyster Gates had come to my apartment, slept with me and then left. Left to go back to his girlfriend. I suddenly felt used. I wasn’t a creepy fangirl, I was a groupie. I lay my head down on the pillow and screwed my eyes shut. A while later, I wasn’t sure how long I’d stayed in bed, I was alerted by voice calling my name.
“Am? Amelia?” Eden came into my room, she’d used the spare key I’d give her when she stays.
“Eden!” I said, sitting up in bed, holding the sheets over my naked body.
“I had some great sex last night!” She grinned at me.
“So did I. I had sex with Synyster Gates,” I mumbled quietly. It felt weird to say it out loud.
“What?” She asked, she hadn’t heard me.
“I had sex with Synyster Gates!” I said louder.
“What?!” Eden exclaimed, looking at me like I was crazy. It didn’t look like she believed me.

Author’s Note:

So this is my first story on this site! I haven’t written in about 4 years or so but I’ve recently got back into A7X after a while and also back into writing, I’ve got loads of ideas to share. This one is based off an old story I posted on the site I used to write on, which now doesn’t exist! Hope you enjoy, please comment and let me know!

That's not her best friend... best friends don't/wouldn't kidnap their other best friend's child. Amelia should call the cops on Eden. Wonder if she took her son abroad (over seas)--or to see Synyster Gates..so he'll know that he has a child?

Love it. :)
