This Means War

Addie's first day was nothing but a blur.

Meeting new people, listening to incessant blabbing about the rules and going to her classes for only ten minutes to know what to expect from the teachers. So basically an hour and a half hearing not to do things that weren't common sense or particular rules about hats and hoodies, foods and drinks, etc.

Today was round two, Addie wasn't particularly happy waking up a 5:30 AM just to make sure she'd be at the bus stop on time, which was 7:10. Her alarm beeped while she cursed to herself and hit her hand on the off button. Within a miracle's reach, she managed to get out of her room in the dark without tripping over a pair of the shoes scattered and dirty clothes. She had just moved in, you couldn't blame her for a big mess on a teenager's floor.

Addie did all the basics for school, showering, brushing her teeth and putting on anything hygienic. Her makeup was a tad less sloppy than yesterday's because she was kind of catching the groove of waking up and attempting to make a wing. It was already difficult, so add on a sleepy girl who isn't even awake completely.

Another boring bus ride to school and she was in awe once she stepped inside. Addie had never seen so many people crowded into one building, and she's been to at least four high schools. She shuffled through the heaving stream of students just so she could get to Spanish 2.

It was downstairs in a secluded corner, so it took awhile to get to if you weren't careful with your directions. Addie finally made it and sat in the back corner, which found out to be a mistake.

Once kids started filing in, the loudest two boys decided to sit next to her one right across, the other diagonal. At first Addie didn't really mind, until the decided they were going to alter her attention so she couldn't hear the teacher.

"Would you mind being quiet?" She asks, rather pissy.

"Uh no thanks hun, I only answer to my girlfriend." The tallest one diagonal from her retorted.

She rolled her eyes and stared at the front while both of them laughed at the tallest one's joke. It really wasn't that original nor witty. Finding it even more annoying, Addie bit her lip to keep herself from spilling out any remarks to the stupid junior's next to her.

Finally they seemed to quiet down, but the one next to her seemed to want to have some kind of conversation, until it went south.

"Hey do you send any yknow, photos?" He asks cockily.

"Excuse you?" Addie scoffs, "I don't know who you think you are mister "Brian" but there's no way I'd send you anything because obviously you aren't intelligent or interested in top priorities."

Brian's face turned from playful to cold, quickly. Addie had been asked questions like that and her answer was always the same. She knew better than that. If anyone found them or anything she would never make Juilliard or be able to be in any rock band that she wanted. She didn't want to be exposed either, what she had and her body was personal, no one else's business.

Brian and later on to find out that his friend's name was Jimmy, kept talking to each other as obnoxiously as possible, pissing off Addie even further. Once the bell rung, she ripped her backpack from the rear of her seat and sprinted out of the class to avoid the two.

Finally getting to go to Calculus, she escaped, or so she thought.

Addie was happy to be by herself in another corner while every other spot was filled, considering what happened last block, she didn't want another annoying class period of 84 minutes.

However, half way through the syllabus and rules, a taller boy came in, brown eyes, black hair and that same stupid crooked smile she saw earlier. Both of them wore hard cold eyes and a pissy frown once they discovered they'd sit next to each other.

"This day just couldn't get any worse." Addie sighed.

She moved her belonging's and let Brian sit there while she twiddled her thumbs and thought about how surprising it was to see him in a college class. If that wasn't surprising enough, he stayed quiet, not bothering to talk to the jocks in front of us, did I piss him off that bad? Then again I didn't care, he was just another sleezebag like the rest.
