Big Not So Bad Wolf

Allie's POV:

I wanted to ask this woman so many questions. My mate? Like a soulmate? Wolf? What wolf?

First I find out vampires are really. Now I learn werewolves exist too. Does that mean witches are real too?

What about demons? Angels? Fairies? How about leprechauns? Or nymphs? I've always loved the idea of mermaids being real.

If all those are true what about Big Foot? The Loch Ness Monster? Are there also aliens?

My head hurt just thinking about all of the possible creatures that could be out somewhere in the world. Also the ones that were beyond our world. The universe is so massive there isn't a word to describe it. There's no possible way that humans are the only inhabitants.

The sound of the door knob pulls me back to the present. I jump to my feet. My body serves to block the bed. This maniac would have to go through me first.

The door opens. A man is standing there he has a tray in his hands. I recognize him as the same man who handed Elijah our picnic that day at the observatory.

"Why did you kidnap us? What do you want with us?"

He takes a couple steps forward.

"If you go near her I'll kick your ass." I warn.

Setting the tray down he turn to look at me. He laughs right in my face. My hands ball into fists at my sides.

"I'd like to see you try." He says mockingly.

I step right up. We're now no more than a few inches apart. Collecting spit in my mouth I launch it straight at his smug face.

While he's distracted I swing my right hand up. It connects with his jaw. Suddenly his hand is around my throat.

The blue of his is a replaced with a fiery red blazing hatred all directed at me. The once normal canine extend. His hand squeezes tighter around my neck.

It's really hard to breathe. Blackness circles the edge of my vision. If I'm going to die then I'm going down fighting.

Lifting my leg I intend to knee him where it hurts. He catches my leg in his other hand.

Anger burns deeper in his gaze. I realize I've really pissed off this vampire. Oh fuck!

My life flashes before my eyes. There were so many things I wanted to do. Shaking these thoughts off I steel my resolve.

It's not just my life at stake. There's no saying what he would do to the poor injured girl if left alone with her. I figure out I can get at his arm.

Twisting my head I open my mouth. My teeth sink into his flesh. He hollers in pain  immediately releasing my throat.

He collects himself. After a moment he comes at me again. A voice from far away calls him off.

"You better watch yourself filthy human. If I want to I could tear you apart and feed off your heart."

The door slams behind him. My legs wobble. Sinking to the floor I exhale a deep shuttering breath.

I'm alive. At least for now. Who knows how long that was going to last. Especially if that psycho had any say at all around her.
