Big Not So Bad Wolf

Allie's POV:

It was great to see Elijah loosen up. The playful way he joked with me was unexpected but totally enjoyable.

This side of Elijah was really refreshing. I wanted to see more of it. So when the waitress comes back I order their chocolate cake.

The cake comes to the table. There are two forks on the plate. I grab my fork and dig in like my life depends on it.

I moan as the moist cake touches my tongue. What can I say? I'm a girl who loves her chocolate.

Elijah's fork goes for the plate. Dropping mine down I block his path. Our forks wage war.

Neither one of us is willing to back down. Loud laughter from a few tables away catches my attention. I turn my head and Elijah wins the victory.

Elijah gloats flying his fork in front of my face. He brings the bite to his mouth. Opening wide he eats it while smiling around the fork. I stick my tongue out at him.

The laughing draws my attention again. It's a table of four guys. All are covered in tattoos.

Suddenly the table goes silent. Four sets of eyes turn to look this way. I couldn't be sure but it seemed like their faces were directed at my table.

I'm a little surprised to see a familiar face among the men. As if it had a mind of its own my hand lifts giving him a wave.

Zacky's POV:

We're all having a good laugh. Then I smell it. The unmistakably sickly sweet smell that belonged only to one thing on this planet. A vampire.

The guys clearly smell it too. I can tell because they also stop laughing. We all turn to look.

A few tables down I spot Allie. She's with that douchebag from the other night. Elizabeth I think was his name. I chuckle to myself.

Looking back up I Allie waving at me. A smile lights up my face.

"You know her?" Brian questions.

"She's hot. Want to set me up?" Johnny blabs.

I ignore both of them. It none of their business anyways. Putting my hand up I want back at her.

Elizabeth seems to finally notice my presence. He doesn't look happy at all. The sneer on his face just makes it uglier.

Matt sits silent his gaze darting between Allie and I. The look on his face is pensive. He's clearly thinking about something.

I couldn't help but wonder what. When he got like that I knew there was no way I'd be hearing his thoughts. Matt was a fortress when he chose to be.

Unknown POV:

The disgustingly sugary scent filled the air. It could only belong to a vampire. It's not hard to find the vile thing.

I notice that it's not alone. There's a woman with it. Clearly she's human. She waves at Zacky.

Zacky raises his hand waving back at her. The air changes. It's almost as if I'd been punched in the nose.

I would recognize this anywhere. I also know that it means trouble.
