Big Not So Bad Wolf

Allie's POV:

We arrive at what could only be called a mega mansion. We were having dinner here? I turn to Elijah.

"I'm sorry if it's not what you were expecting. Tonight is the annual Paw Tags charity dinner." He says.

"Of course I don't mind. Just one question. What is Paw Tags?" I ask.

"Paw Tags is a non-profit organization that helps soldiers receive dogs. All of the dogs are trained at the best facilities.

Paw Tags covers every single penny of the costs. These soldiers fought for our country. They deserve to treated as humans when they come home." Elijah passionately explains.

"Well then I consider myself lucky to be here with such a handsome man." I answer back. His heart for this cause was wonderful.

Elijah walks me around to the back of the house. There is another house back there practically. The building is detached from the house. It's opened to the air. With a big oddly shaped pool in the middle. At both ends of the back are rooms to escape the elements if need be.

People are everywhere. They're even walking on top of the structure. I had honestly never seen so many people in one place before.

With Elijah at my side leading the way I'm introduced to the wealthy attendants of the party. A woman draped in diamonds comes over. She embraces Elijah in a quick hug with air kisses to each cheek.

"As always it's the talk of the town. Well done again Elijah. You can expect a huge donation from my family." She speaks as if I'm not there.

"This is Vivian. Vivian this is Allie." Elijah introduces.

"Nice to meet you Vivian." I say smiling at her.

The only reply I receive is a sneer. She walls away. Hopefully I won't have to deal with her again tonight.

I turn to Elijah. All of this was his doing. Paw Tags was his charity. I couldn't believe I hadn't put it together before.

A while later Elijah and I are seated at our table. Unfortunately Vivian and her date were seated at the same table. I could not miss the flirty looks she was aiming at Elijah.

He seemed not to notice her at all. This gave me great pleasure. I felt a glare and I knew the culprit was Vivian.

Elijah grand my hand under the table I smile despite our company. She can give me all the dirty looks she wants. At the end of the night I'm the one going home with Elijah.

Dinner is served. It's filet mignon with seared asparagus and a side salad. The stake looks perfectly cooked. I cut into my filet.

Glancing at it I see the inside of it is red. Blood covers my plate right away. My stomach turns. So much for being perfectly cooked. 

I force myself to eat. The asparagus tastes great. My salad has the exact amount of dressing I like and the cranberries compliment it wonderfully.

"Something wrong with your filet?" Elijah questions.

"Some just can't handle it rare." Vivian snidely comments.

It's not rare. It is raw. I'm all for stake but I don't want it mooing at me from my plate. Biting my tongue I keep my reply to myself.

"Not every one can handle being around other people." I blurt.

Elijah coughs to cover his chuckle. Her date even has to turn his head to hide his laugh from her. Vivian's face turns red then she lets out a huff before leaving the table.
