Seventeen and Pregnant

Jimmy pulls into the drive way and I just stare at their house. I haven't seen the house since we were kids. I am so afraid of the way that this is going to turn out. I swallow hard and unbuckle my seat belt and climb out of the car. Jimmy fusses with Phoenix's car seat and takes her out. She stands beside Jimmy and waits for him before she moves.

"Come on daddyyy!" She yells dragging him by his hand.

"Well what about your mother?" He chuckles.

"She walk alone." The little brat.

I laugh and follow them up the steps instead of knocking on the door he just goes right in.

"Mom! Dad! Were here!" He lifts Ph up and Carry's her threw the house with him.

When I finally make it to the house I shut the door.

"Daddy mammy and pappy seeping." She puts her hands on her hips and stares at him. He chuckles.

"You have your mothers attitude little one."

"Noo. I me own person." He chuckles and kisses her head.

Arriving in the kitchen behind Jimmy his parents are sitting at the kitchen table talking waiting on us.

"Hey Jimmy...Oh, is this Pheonix?" Barb asks as she stands to take her

"Yes, shes feisty mom watch it." He chuckles as Ph glares at him. He will pay for that comment later.

"She is increadbly beautiful. Pheonix. I am your Mammy. and that is your pappy."

She burrys her face in Barbs shoulder and then looks up.

"Me Pheonix. I three." She holds up four fingers and we laugh.

Barb hands Pheonix to Joe and then looks at me. I know that she is angry with me...and she has every right to be mad at me. I am expecting her to yell at me but she doesn't she just pulls me in for a hug, and I return the hug, I smile at Jimmy who smirks his 'I told you so' smile.

"Thank you for coming home Lexi. I hated to think that we would never see our granddaughter again."

"I am sorry that I left like that. I just figured that everyone would be much better off without me."

"That is not true regardless of the situation. We would have helped you."

"I know that now and I don't ever plan on leaving. I am really happy."

"Good. Now come eat."

Breakfast with Jimmy's parents went better then I expected and they absolutely fell in love with Ph. They knew she was Jimmy's daughter in more ways then one. They are taking her for the weekend. We too her to the park for awhile and just spent time talking and catching up since we haven't talked to each other in awhile.

He pulled me closer to him as the air started to get cooler since it is fall in California.

Phoenix started getting tired so we decided that it would be a good time to go to my parents house since it was a good drive and Ph would get her nap in.

He held my hand the entire way and I couldn't be any happier. I don't know how many times I should say that. But it is the truth.

I have been the biggest screw up ever.

Now my life is finally falling into place.

Phoenix and Jimmy and My best friends...that's all I need.

Dinner with my parents went okay, but not great, turns out their pissed as hell at me and would rather they have nothing to do with me anymore.

I am hurt by this they still want to be able to see Phoenix, and would like to take her once in awhile.

I told them that if they want to see her then they had to see me, and that's when they threw us out and told me to never come back.

Wonderful parents I have!
