Follow The Tides, Wherever You've Been
Ready For The Worst, Before The Damage Was Done
Matt turned to Brian. He looked absolutely enraged.
"You fucking kissed her?!"
"She kissed me back!"
"I can't believe you kissed her, Brian! You had your chance with her, you know that! Fuck! You're such an... Wait, she kissed you back?" Matt stopped yelling, as he caught onto what Brian had said. He turned back to me. "You kissed him back?"
"I'm sorry, Matt. I got caught up, and that's no excuse... but, I just... I have no excuse for you. I'm sorry. I'm really sorry." I said, my eyes starting to well with tears. Matt looked heartbroken. His head dropped, and he stared at the floor. All was quiet for a few minutes, before Matt spoke up again.
"We've been together for over seven months... I was waiting for the perfect time. I was going to ask you to marry me." His voice broke a little, as he said the last part. "I guess I waited too long, huh?" He looked back up at me, and I saw tears welling in his eyes, as well.
"Matt, I..." He cut me off.
"No, it's alright. I guess you finally figured out who you really wanted. I'm just sorry it took this long for you to figure it out. I wish I hadn't been so blind as to not see it, though. I would've never asked you out, if I'd known you still liked Brian."
"I'm so sorry." I could barely speak, because my throat was getting sore from trying to hold off my tears.
"It's okay. No need to apologize. We'll be over. Then you can have your chance to start anew with Brian." He didn't give me a chance to say anymore, before he walked out of the room, followed by Jimmy, Johnny, and Zacky, leaving me alone with Brian.
"I'm sorry..." Brian started to speak.
"No. I am. This is all my fault. I never should have came out here to California, then none of this ever would've happened."
"Don't talk like that. If you hadn't come out to California, we would've never met an amazing girl, and one of our greatest friends."
"Nothing good has come from me being here, Brian. I'm going home." He came over and grabbed my shoulders.
"I won't let you leave, Bradley. I want you here."
"I'm leaving, Brian. If you value your happiness, or Matt's, you will let me." He let go of my shoulders. "Will you please leave the room? I just want to be alone." He looked at me, sullenly, but reluctantly left the room, leaving me to myself.
The rest of the day I laid on my bed, thinking of all of the things that had gone wrong. I cried over and over again, and refused to leave the room, or answer when anybody knocked on the door, until finally a restless sleep consumed me.
