Follow The Tides, Wherever You've Been
The Move
"Sweetie, Sam is here to pick you up!" My mom calls from the bottom of the stairs.
"Okay, be down in a sec!" I yell back to her. I smile slightly as I look myself over in the mirror. I am finally satisfied with my life. My newly acquired flat stomach is just the beginning of my new life. I am moving out, away from my parents, and I can't wait to arrive in California for many days laying in the sun on the beach. My mom sweeps a glance over at me as I carry my stuff down the stairs.
"Bradley, I cannot believe you are going to California! And you are going to do so with only two boxes of your belongings." My mom says to me.
"Mom, I already told you, Sam and I will get furniture and the whole she-bang when we get to our new place. I am leaving a lot of things here in case things don't work out there, or in case I want to come back and visit my always loving parents." I smile at her. She hugs me, and tears start flowing down her cheeks.
"I can't believe my baby girl is all grown up, and moving away."
"I will come back and visit in a few months, when we get everything settled, or maybe you could come visit me at the new place."
"We would like that." My father says walking into the room to join me and my mom.
"I love you mom, and daddy." I say hugging them both and planting kisses on their cheeks. They both say goodbye and they love me, and Sam helps me carry the two boxes out to his truck. I blow kisses to my parents as Sam and I pull out of the driveway, and head to the highway. We both know we have a long ass drive ahead of us so we have decided to take shifts sleeping and driving. We had already decided on this months ago, as we both have never really been too far out of Minnesota, we were wanting a road trip, and we would be stopping many times along the way to pick up souveniers from the many places we would be visiting.
