Dont Pray For Me

PHOENIX POV

It only took us 30 minutes to get ready today since we decided not to get dolled up. I pulled on some black cargo shorts and an Asking Alexandria shirt before slipping my vans on and throwing my hair into a high ponytail. When I came out I seen Rae wearing a pair of tan cargo shorts with A Day To Remember shirt, her hair up in a messy bun and a pair of vans that matched mine.

"You guys are definitely twins" Jimmy said as I eyeballed our matching attire.

"Bullshit, you two planned that" Brian said not believing that we really didnt have this planned.

"They got ready in two different rooms dumbass" Johnny said to our defense.

We grabbed all of our stuff before leaving to the shooting range.

We all loaded our guns silently when I got the greatest idea. "How about a contest? I asked looking around at the rest of the guys and my sister. "What kind of contest?" she asked. The thing about Raevyn is she loves competition, so she was in, no matter what it was. "Whoever gets the least amount of bullseye shots is buying the first 3 rounds of alcohol at the bar once the mission is over?" I asked.

"Deal!" they all yelled.

Once we got our big ass headphone things over our ears we took our spots and aimed at the targets that were hanging in front of us at the end of the room. I took a couple deep breaths as I steadied my hands, the clock ticking down up above us.

And we all began unloading our clips into our own targets. Once empty we took off our earphones and counted how many times we missed the bullseye.

"See this is not fair!" Christ complained, "Im not the shooter, im the hacker!" he kept going on and on about how he would kick our ass in a competition based upon hacking something. We walked outback to where I could set up my rifle, I always loved being a sniper, it was much more fun for me to see how far I can get before I miss a target. I layed down on the ground with my rifle, with my legs bent at the knees, up in the air and ankles crossed. Im not sure exactly why I lay like that, I guess its just a thing for me. I ALWAYS do it, no matter what.

I looked into the scope and studied the target that I could barely see with my naked eye, and let out a couple breaths before holding one last breath. I squeezed the trigger and picked up the walkie talkie to see if I hit my target. Jerry, who owned the place, came back through. "Straight through the heart Voodoo Doll" he said and I threw my fist up in the air.

"Fuck yea babe! thats a new record!" Rae said to me.

"Voodoo Doll?" Zack asked with a laugh.

"He has nicknames for us, mine is Voodoo Doll and Rae is RagDoll" I said with a shoulder shrug. Hes that guy that cant remember names for shit so he give them nicknames instead and it was always fine with me Rae didnt mind it either.

We still had time to kill so we decided to go to the batting cages and placed more bets each of us grabbed a bat and helmet and stepped into our own cages. It had been forever since Ive had this much fun, even though it might be ending once our mission was over.

"Whoever hits the most gets to pick the movie for movie night" Brian said.

"What the hell, you guys have a movie night?" Rae asked looking over at Matt.

"Sure do, every sunday night we get together in the living room and watch a movie before bed" he said to her.

"Fine, deal" I said, looks like were werent going to get rid of them that easily.

I was so preoccupied with the mission and this new romance that out of 15 baseballs I hit 5, wayyyy off my game. Of course Zack barely got any hits as well but in the end Matt won. The sun was starting to go down and we decided to grab a bite to eat before going back to the our house to grab some things.

Once we got everything we needed we met back up with the guys and waited for a text or a call from Larry so we could get the address of where the guy lived. I was getting antsy so I decided to go out and smoke a cigarette, soon I was joined by Zack.

"Thanks beautiful" he said to me as I lit his cigarette for him. "No problem cutie" I winked at him as he smoked.

"So I know we've known each other for a while, but I want to get to know you on a deeper level" Zacky said to me. I looked towards him and lifted an eyebrow. "Youve already seen me naked Mr. Vengeance, how much deeper are we talking here?" I teased.

"Go on a date with me" he said.

"Better yet, will you be my girlfriend?" he asked and I started to choke on the smoke I just inhaled. I guess that drew my sisters attention because she ran outside with the rest of the group behind her as Zacky laughed.

"What the hell did you do Nix?" she asked and I pointed towards Zacky as I tried to get everything out so I could breathe again.

"Vengeance what did you do to her?" she asked him with a stern look on her face.

"I asked her to be my girlfriend" he said with a laugh.

"And what was her answer?" Rae questioned looking over at me after I got my breath.

"What?" I asked her while looking to see that EVERYONE had their eyes on me. I didnt hear a word they were saying while I was choking.

"What was your answer Nix?" she said and my heart began to thump really hard in my chest.

How could I let someone in after the last one literally tried to take the life out of me? There was no easy was to let him down. I couldnt let myself get that involved with the wrong person again this time it might actually kill me.
