Matt’s POV
**Fast forward one month after Bree’s funeral**
The guys and I piled into my escalade and made our way to Coby’s house. No one has seen or heard from him since Bree’s funeral and we were all starting to get worried. Not even a phone call or a text, and we all know how much of a text-a-holic Coby is. I even called his parents to see if they had heard from him, and nothing. I just hope nothing is wrong.
Coby’s POV
My house is cold and dark. I turned the A/C down to its coldest setting and closed all the blinds and kept all the lights off in my entire house. I couldn’t even tell what time of day it was even if I wanted to. I haven’t eating anything since I got back from the funeral, nor have I slept in over a month. I didn’t even care that I felt like I was slowly dying inside. Every time I close my eyes to try to get some sleep my mind wanders to her and I can see her every time I close my eyes, It was haunting me. When I would see her she would always be crying, she trusted me, trusted me to keep her safe and I failed. I let her die. I felt my eyes begin to water, I just let them fall, it was no use stopping them, I’m just surprised I have any left in my entire body. I am so cried out already, but once they start they wont stop.
I faintly heard the sound of a car door shut outside but I ignored it. Soon I heard footsteps come up the walkway and stop at the door. I could hear the guys arguing outside and a long pause, or what seemed like a long pause to me, before there was a loud knock at my door. I didn’t move, well more like I couldn’t move. I had no energy in my entire body from not eating so I ignored it hoping they would just go away and leave me along to die in peace. After a minute there was another knock on the door. This time followed by a voice.
“Hey Coby, its Matt, you in there?”
This time I tried to muster any energy I had to go answer the door and try to convince Matt that I was ok. I tried to get off the couch, which turned out to be a horrible plan. As soon as I started to lean over the couch everything started to spin and before I knew it I was landing head first against my hardwood floors. The last thing I heard before I blacked out was my front door being busted down.
Matt’s POV
Outside we heard a loud thump, and that’s when I made the decision to knock down the door. He would probably be pissed at me later, but at the moment I didn’t care. I needed to make sure that he was ok.
I entered his house stepping over the door in the process. The house was dark considering it was Noon, and extremely cold. I looked toward the living room looking for a light switch. When I found it I flipped it on and Coby’s body came into view. The rest of the guys filed in behind me, mouths open, shocked at the scene in front of us.
As I walked closer I could see how pale he was. I knelt down beside him and tried to shake him awake, but all I got was a painful groan. His entire body was freezing and when I checked for a pulse I could barely feel anything, Now I was freaking out. I picked him up, and god was he light, and boney. I took him outside and laid him in the back seat of the car.
“Guy’s lets go, we need to take him to the hospital NOW!” I yelled. I knew something wasn’t right with him. I should have known better to leave him alone like this after the funeral.
The guys all ran back and hopped in my car. The ride to the hospital was silent, no one really knew what to think of the situation, or if Coby would be all right. The one thing we all knew was that Coby’s life was in danger, and it wasn’t going to be easy.
