Valary's Pov
'Meet me @ 6. Will be at Mom's.
P.S. It's urgent.'

I read the text sent by my sister and keep my phone back in my pocket. I went back to whisking the eggs for lunch while the doorbell rang. "Matt, I'm busy. Can you get the door?" I thought my husband had opened the door but no. The bell rang again and I went out to get it. Brian and Jimmy stood in the doorway. "Hi guys." I said as they came inside. Jimmy pulled me in a hug while Brian waved his hand at me nervously.

"Where's Matt?" Brian asks. "Follow me." I said and took the guys in the living room. Matt was on the couch, playing on the Xbox. "That's why you couldn't answer the door?" I asked him in disbelief. "Huh?" he said keeping his eyes on the screen. "M-A-T-T!" Jimmy sand in a loud pitch voice but my husband did not budge from his place. "Matthew, turn that thing off. Now!" I said loudly, grabbing all three men's attention.

"You got killed, dude." Brian said awkwardly and the other two guys looked at him. "The game...." Brian said and all three of them looked at the screen. Seriously?! They were actually concerned about that stupid game? I grabbed the remote and turned it off immediately. "Matt, you've been sitting here on this couch since morning playing on that stupid thing." I heard Jimmy gasp when I said 'stupid'. "Your friends are here, at least hang out with them instead of sitting here." I said, putting my hands on my hips.

Jimmy nudged Matt with his elbow and he got up. "I'm so sorry, Val." Matt said and hugged me. "It's okay." I said and we sat down. "What's up?" Matt asked the other two and Jimmy got quite excited. "Brian's gonna do it." he said, wiggling his eyebrows. "Do what?" I asked, confused. "Really, man? You're gonna do it?" Matt asked Brian, who nodded his head. "What are you guys ta-" I was cut off by Matt. "Why haven't you done it yet?" he asked Brian. "It's been only four years, Matt." Brian answered. "I'm so proud of you, dude." Matt said to Brian. "Me too." Jimmy said, patting Brian's shoulders.

"What are you guys talking about?" I asked, looking at my husband. "You didn't know, babe?" he asked and I shook my head. "Geez, Brian didn't tell you?" Jimmy asked me. "Tell me what?" I asked. "How could you not tell your sister in law, Bri?" Jimmy asked Brian who just glared at his friend. "Okay, enough of beating about the bush. Tell me what's going on." I demanded. "Brian's gonna do it. It." Jimmy said and I looked at Brian. "What the hell, Brian? You're still a....." I looked at him surprised.

"Can I speak now?!" Brian said, agitated. Matt, Jimmy and I kept on looking at him curiously. "Firstly, Matt." Brian said and pointed his index finger at my husband. "You gotta give some time to your family and friends. Don't just sit in front of that screen playing Call of Duty all the time." Brian said sternly, while Matt gaped at him shocked. "Thank you." I muttered and Brian looked at me. "Secondly, Val. Why were you so shocked a minute ago?" he asked me."I thought you're still a...." I stopped.

"A what?" Brian demanded. "Virgin." I said as my face turned slightly red. "What!" The three men said, absolutely stunned. Two seconds later, Matt and Jimmy started laughing while Brian put his head in his hands. "That deal was sealed long, long ago." Jimmy said in between his laughs, earning a death glare from Brian. "Sorry." I purred.

"Anyways, Val...." Brian said and grabbed my hands. "I gotta tell you something." he said. "Are you practicing with my wife just because she looks like your girlfriend?" Matt asked, while Jimmy laughed. "God, Brian. Just spit it out." I said. "I'm gonna propose your sister." Brian said nervously. "Oh my god! You mean Michelle?" I said excitedly. "How many sisters do you have, Val?" Jimmy asked and I gave him a 'Really?' look. "You're not messing with me, are you?" I said, narrowing my eyes at Brian.

"He's not messing with you, dear. Brian is serious." Matt said. "Yeah, and he's been preparing his proposal ever since we came back from tour last month." Jimmy said. "I haven't talked to her properly since we came back. I thought I'll blurt out everything at a point and she might just freak out. So...." Brian trailed off. "So, he kept a big stone over his heart and didn't communicate with Chelle properly." Matt finished the sentence.

"Brian, I'm glad you're gonna propose. I'm so proud of you." I said and hugged him. "I'm so happy for you." I said patting his back. "I hope she says yes." Brian says as I sit back properly. "Don't worry, she will." I said, smiling. "When are you planning to tell her?" Matt asked. "Next Sunday." Brian said and Jimmy let out a shriek. "Yesterday was Sunday. You lost your big day, Bri!" Jimmy said shocked. "He said next Sunday, Jimmy." I said as we all laughed.

"So, have you prepared your speech yet?" I ask Brian and he shakes his head. "It's not fully ready, but I have something else." he said and takes out a small black velvet box. He opens it and shows us the ring. "Sweet heavens! That is so beautiful." I say looking at the diamond work. "I hope Chelle gives the same reaction." Brian says smiling faintly. "That reminds me. I'm meeting her this evening, want me to give her a teeny tiny hint?" I said. "I'm gonna have to ask you to keep it a secret. I wanna surprise her next week." Brian said and I show him a thumbs up.

The boys left an hour later. After lunch, Matt sat down with his Xbox again. "Matt, please. Not again." I said sitting down beside him. "Okay." Matt said throwing his hands up. He sat back and I hugged his torso. "No more Xbox." I said and Matt looked at me with a look as if someone slapped him. "For now." I said and he looked relieved. He held me protectively and we talked for hours. It was 5:25 and I got up to get ready. I put on some jeans and a white tank top. "You going somewhere?" Matt asked, coming in the room. "Yeah, I told you I'm meeting Chelle." I said making a ponytail. "I'll go to Zack's for a while." he said. "Okay, but I don't wanna see you on that Xbox when I return. Can you do that?" I ask with a smirk. "I'll try." he said after a pause. "See you." I chuckled and pecked his lips quickly.

I reached Mom's in 15 minutes and rang the bell. Chelle opened it and we hugged. "Is everything okay? You said it was urgent." I said as she pulled me inside. "Yeah, everything's okay." she said smiling. "Where's mom and dad?" I asked as I made my way to the kitchen. "They went out for some work." Chelle said and almost dragged me to her room. "What is up with you today?" I ask as she opens the door to her room. "What's all this?" I asked as I went inside. Her room was full of suitcases, clothes were lying on the bed, and her closet was half empty.

"Are you going somewhere?" I ask and look at her. "Remember my friend Lisa?" Michelle said. "That designer?" I asked after pondering for a while, and Chelle nodded. "What about her?" I ask. "Well, she's in Paris now. We talk often and last month, I showed her some of my own designs. She liked them a lot and showed them to her boss. So I got a call five days ago from Lisa and she said her boss liked my designs too." Chelle said excitedly. "Wow, that's cool. But, what's with all these clothes and suitcases?" I asked. "Val, don't you get it?" Michelle said putting her hands on my shoulders. "Both Lisa and her boss want me to go to Paris and work with them! Isn't that exciting?!" Chelle screamed.

Exciting? Wait, what? She's going to Paris?! No she can't!

"Are you going?" I asked still shocked. "Of course I'm going! It's a huge opportunity." she said. "What about us? And Brian?" I asked and she remained quiet. "No shit, you haven't talked to Brian, have you?" I said looking at her. "I think you need to get updated about a few things that's been happening in my life nowadays." Michelle said and we sat on her bed.

"I don't think Brian wants me anymore." she said and my jaw dropped open. "What!" I said, shocked. "He never calls me now, and we haven't talked since he came back from tour last month!" she said. 'That's because he's busy planning a surprise for you!' I mentally scream in my head.

"Maybe he was busy." I tried to make her understand. but she shook her head. "No. I left him so many messages and he didn't reply to any of them! I wanted to meet him so many times, but he always ditched our dates. He's clearly avoiding me!" Michelle said angrily.

'He's gonna propose you, Chelle. Don't you get it?!' I scream in my head again.

"I always feel he's lying whenever he's talking to me. And I hate that feeling." she said and grabbed my hands. "Val, I can't take it anymore." she said. "Chelle, he loves you. Try and understand." I said. "I need a break. I'll work my ass off in Paris, so I won't get distracted thinking about Brian." she said. "Whoa, wait a minute! You're not leaving because of Haner, are you?" I asked. "I don't wanna stay here anymore. Please, try and understand." she said avoiding eye contact.

"Now I get it." I say quietly. "You do?" Michelle asked me with hope gleaming in her eyes. "You're not leaving because of Brian. You're leaving because you wanna stay and work in Paris! Right?" I ask and she looks away from me. "What are you talking about, Val? You know I can't live here with Brian around." she said.

"Are you kidding me, Michelle?!" I shouted and she looked at me hurt. "What the fuck did Brian do now? Did he hurt you? Did he do anything to offend you?!" I said getting pissed. "He does not love or care about me anymore!" Michelle screamed at my face. "He does, you silly! Or why the fuck would he be planing to propose you?!" I spat angrily.

"What?" Michelle looked at me shocked. "Nothing." I said and quickly made my way downstairs. "Wait, Val." Michelle blocked my way and looked at me. "What did you just say?" she asked. "Nothing. I have to go now, Matt's waiting for me." I lied. "You said something about Brian proposing me. Come on, say it!" she demanded. Oh my god, now I have to spill the fucking beans........
