Where Do We Go From Here ?

"Val!' I yelled from upstairs she was giving River a bath and getting him ready for bed she gathered up Rivers other clothes off of the bathroom floor Zack's barbeque was fun but I felt there was tension in the room between Emma, Michelle, Brian, and Dan they didn't even bother to look at each other the entire night our game of beer pong was in session and everybody had a great time but those four I gave Zacky my checklist I know I'm being overbearing but I'm becoming more stern when it comes to touring... "Where is Val?!"... I thought to myself. I waited patiently downstairs until she finally walked downstairs covered in bubbles and her hair was a mess.. God she looked ridiculous... I thought to myself.

"Yes my loving husband ?" Val asked coming downstairs.

"What took you so long ?" I asked

"I had to give River a bath and put him to bed something you should be doing!" Val yelled.

"Can you try not to yell ?" I whispered

"I'm sorry." Val said biting her fingertips.

"Did you and River go the park ?" I asked

"No we actually went to the beach." Val replied

"Who goes to the beach in the middle of December ?" I asked

"We do." Val shot back.

"Who did you meet at the beach ?" I asked

"I met up with Alex's wife Hollie if you must know." Val replied.

"Okay." I said

"Now can I go back to bed ?" Val asked

"Okay go to bed I will be upstairs soon." I said

I paced around the living room pinching the bridge of my nose and getting angrier by the minute I couldn't blame Val for being fed up with my bullshit I was so caught up in getting ready for this tour that I had forgotten how to be a husband and a father my family needs me right now but I'm acting like a complete asshole that I pushed them away and I want to make it up to them but right now my main focus is this tour and making sure nobody fucks this up I closed down my computer and turned out the light and headed for bed wondering where I went completely wrong.. I need to fix this. I thought to myself.


The Next Morning

The sunlight had shown through my curtains Val still sound asleep next to me last night had me rethinking a lot Val and River need me the most I sat up stretching my arms and walking towards the hallway to check up on River who was fast asleep I didn't want to wake him so I walked downstairs to put on a pot of coffee and sit on the couch next to Bella who was also preoccupied with a chew toy hanging from mouth I sat there just watching her she didn't have a care in the world that's what I loved about her.


"Daddy!" River yelled running downstairs.

"You have to be quiet bud mommy is still asleep." I whispered.

River put his finger over his mouth and sat next to me on the couch grabbing the remote from my hands and putting it inside of his mouth and began chewing on it he looked over at Bella and smiled I can't get enough of him. Val and I loved him so much I called to check up on Zack but he's probably still asleep... Was I that much of an asshole ?" I thought to myself.

Brian and Emma were in the midst of wedding planning while trying to take care of a newborn son so I just hungout with River all day this what I need honestly according to Val I don't spend that much time with him but that's going to change sooner than later I walked around with River on my hip I'm going to be Mr. Mom for the day just to give Val a break just for today she needs her rest I'm stepping into some pretty big shoes right now but it won't be that hard would it ?


I ran up to River's bedroom and what I saw was a completely spotless room Val actually takes her time and cleans this house the bathroom was a different story but no worries I've got this covered if I can survive the rest of the day being a cleaning machine I had to sit River down on the carpet next to Bella had no problem barking at whoever rang my doorbell and she had no problem protecting River from strangers.. God I love that dog. I thought to myself.

I looked through the glass door and saw Alex's wife Hollie standing at my front door with a tray of cookies I had to admit she had a beautiful smile... Stop it your wife is upstairs I thought to myself.

I opened the door and invited her inside she sat on the couch I wanted to start a conversation right then and there but I was still busy cleaning when I invited her inside she waited so patiently to acquire my attention I had set the dish rag inside of the kitchen and started a conversation.

"So what brings you by ?" I asked

"I wanted to thank your wife for keeping me company." Hollie smiled

"She's not awake yet." I smiled back

"Oh can you tell her I stopped by ?" Hollie asked.

"I sure will." I replied

"Can I walk you to your car ?" I scratched the back of my neck.

"Sure." Hollie smiled.

I closed the door behind me and began walking Hollie to her car the way her hair blew in the wind had me mesmerized she was lucky she was married to Alex because if she wasn't I'd have my way with her... God! stop thinking like that Matt! I thought to myself.

I walked back inside closing the door behind me to see Val finally awake but she seemed angry this couldn't end well time to come clean before I end up sleeping on the couch again tonight.. Time to face the truth Matt I thought to myself.
