I Will Wait For You

I’m sitting on my couch watching a movie, when Alexa bursts through the door.

“What the fuck?!” I scream at her. “You scared the shit out of me!”

“I can’t believe you don’t lock your door.” She says, simply, as I regain my composure.

“I will from now on!”

“What the Hell are you watching? Is this porn? I mean I know you don’t have a man right now, but I told you, all you need to do is…”

“Would you shut up? I’m not watching porn. I’m watching Fifty Shades of Grey.”

“Oh! I’ve been wanting to see this!”

“Well you can borrow it. Is that all you came over here for, to criticize me about watching movies, and not locking my door?” I ask, as I take the movie out of the DVD player, and hand it to her.

“You’re not going to finish it first?”

“I’ll watch it some other time. Just don’t ruin it for me.”

“I’ll try. So what are you plans tonight?”

“Nothing. I was going to watch movies, but you sort of screwed that up.”

“Sorry! I just thought I’d ask if you want to join me tonight.”

“Join you where?”

“I’m going out; I want you to come with. Maybe you’ll run into Matt again, who knows.” She winks at me.

“Why so I can get drunk and have sex with him again, or worse, some other random guy? No thanks. I’ll take my chances here at home.”

“Please?! Don’t make me beg!”

“If I agree to go, will you promise not to let me drink so much this time?”

“Fiiiine. Just please go with me!”

“Fine, I will.”

“Yay! Now go get dressed, so we can go!” She says, pushing me toward my bedroom.

We walk into the bar, and I immediately spot Matt and Brian.

“Did you know they were going to be here?” I turn to Alexa.

“Not at all.” She says pulling me to where they are sitting, with three other guys.

“Are you sure about that?” I ask her, as we arrive at their table.

“Hey, girls, nice to see you again.” Brian greets us. He gets up, and hugs Alexa. He smiles at me, as he sits back down. Alexa sits next to him. Are they dating?! What is going on?

“Alexa, would you mind coming with me to the bathroom real quick?”

“We just got here!”

“I don’t care!” I grab her wrist, and pull her behind me, to the bathroom. “What’s going on?” I ask her, as the door swings shut behind us.

“We’re hanging out with Avenged Sevenfold!”

“A week ago, you didn’t even know who they were!”

“I’d heard of them before, just never really took the time to listen to their music. I didn’t really know what they looked like. Once Brian told me last week that he was in a band, I researched them. Their music is really good, Lake! Plus, they’re totally hot! Win win!”

“So you and Brian are what exactly? How’d you know they would be here?”

“We are friends, I guess you could say. Hopefully we will be more, eventually.” She winks at me.

“He gave me his number last week, before we left the bar.”

“Did you sleep with him?”

“No. I didn’t drink quite as much as you did. Although, I wouldn’t have to be drinking to sleep with him.”

“When were you going to tell me all of this?”

“I thought I’d surprise you… Surprise!”

“I can’t believe it. I wasn’t planning on seeing Matt again.”

“You said you didn’t know if you wanted to see him again!”

“That doesn’t mean I want to see him again!”

“It doesn’t mean that you don’t want to see him, though! He’s gorgeous, how could you not want to see him again?!” I can’t help but laugh at her. “See, now you’re thinking about him naked, and you want to see him again!”

“Stop.”

“You’re blushing!”

“Stop!” I can’t help but smile.

“Please just hang out with us. It’s not like I’m asking you to sleep with him.”

“Fine.”

“You’re trying to act mad, but I know you’re picturing Matt naked right now.” She laughs, and disappears out of the bathroom, not giving me a chance to respond.

She is right, though. I can’t help myself. He’s too attractive for his own good. Man, I wish I could remember how he is in bed! Maybe I should sleep with him again, not being drunk, so I know. I smirk to myself, as I’m thinking.

I am so bad.

I head back out to the table, and take a seat next to Alexa.

“Lakyn. You still have to meet the rest of the band!” Alexa says.

“Guys this is Lakyn.” Alexa introduces me to the three unfamiliar guys at the table. “Lakyn, this is Johnny, Jimmy, and Zachy.” She says pointing them each out to me. “And you’ve already met Brian, of course… and Matt.” She winks at me, and I elbow her in the side.

“Nice to meet you, Lakyn. You can just call me Zach.” Zach says, reaching a hand out to me. I shake it, followed my Jimmy’s, and then Johnny’s.

“Nice to meet you all.” I smile at them.

“Is this the Lakyn you were telling us about?” Johnny asks Matt. Matt gives him an evil look in return.

“Not now, Johnny.” Matt says to him.

“He told you about me?” I ask Johnny.

“Umm… yeah. Just that he met you last week, and you seemed really nice. That’s all.” He smiles, nervously. I can tell that he’s hiding something, though.

I give Matt an odd look, and mouth for him to meet me at the bar. I then excuse myself.

As we get up to the bar, I decide to just order another drink, while I’m there. Matt steps up next to me, and orders one for himself.

“So we meet again, huh?” He says, as he stands next to me.

“I guess so… Did you tell your friends about me?”

“Well, Brian had already met you, so he doesn’t really count…”

“I’m not talking about Brian, Matt.”

“I may have told them some things.”

“Things? What things?”

“Maybe that we slept together…” He says, nervously rubbing the back of his neck.

“What?! Are you kidding me?!”

“I’m sorry. I’m a guy, I talk to my friends about these things!”

“You guys tell each other about every girl you sleep with?”

“Oh, and I suppose you didn’t tell Alexa that we slept together? I guess you guys don’t ever talk about those kinds of things.”

“Okay, fine. I told her we slept together.”

“So, we are even, then.”

“Fine.” I down my drink, and order another, before heading back to the table. Matt follows behind me.

“Another drink?” Alexa asks, as I sit down next to her.

“Oh. I’m sorry, I forgot to ask permission. Mother, may I have another drink?”

“Jeez, you get testy when you drink. I’m just trying to help. You told me to help you.”

“Oh fuck what I said, let’s just enjoy ourselves.”

“I second that!” Jimmy yells in agreement and high fives me.

“I don’t.” Alexa says. “Remember what happened last time you got drunk, Lakyn?”

“Actually, I don’t really remember much.” I laugh.

“That’s my point.”

“Lex…” I start to say, and I turn my head to look at her. But we aren’t in the bar anymore, we’re in the car. I’m driving, and then Alexa is screaming, there’s tires screeching, glass shattering, and suddenly I’m falling.
