Maya’s POV

“NOOO!! YOOOOUUUU HAAAVVVE TO COME!” Jimmy kept on screaming and it didn’t look like he planned to stop anytime soon “PLLLLEEEEAAASSSEEE!!!”

“YYOOOUUU HAVE TO COME!! YOU CAN’T LEAVE JESS AND I ALONE TONIGHT!!!!” He insisted and I rubbed my temple, damn we still had so much to do before the opening tomorrow, but then again, look at the guy, how could anyone right in their mind say no to him.

I looked over to Ave knowing, she would be the one who needed to be strong, Jimmy was a weakness I had right from the start, so I couldn’t say no to him, not ever.

“Okay, okay, okay!” Avery stepped forward, her hands up in surrender. “We agree, just stop yelling!” Avery sighed and I had to grin, so she couldn’t say no to him either, but I couldn’t blame her. Her eyes met mine and she shrugged like she wanted to say ‘What should I do’ And I nodded, well why not have one last adventure before our grand opening tomorrow?!

Jimmy had a face wide grin on when I nodded and he excitedly looked around “My queen is waiting in the car, you girls hurry and close up, then we need to go… WE NEED TO GOOOO!” Jimmy screamed the last part and I cringed a little.

I moved up to him and patted his cheek softly “Honey, we are still in our store, and we don’t want to scare the neighbors and possible customers away, we are coming with you, but for now you gotta turn the volume a little down, can you do that for me?” I asked softly and Jimmy seemed to calm down.

“But only because you are coming with me… and not contact to the others. It’s a secret mission, but you know that, don’t you?” Jimmy narrowed his eyes at Ave who had her phone in her hands.
“Come on Jimmy, we at least gotta tell the guys that we are leaving…” Ave whined when a thought popped into my head, Matt wanted to pick me up… I had to tell him I wouldn’t be here or he would be worried.

“No contact!” Jimmy insisted and I sighed “Just let us leave a message then” I told him and he sternly shook his head.
“This wouldn’t be secret mission if you leave messages… I see it’s been way too long since I took you on an adventure like this… but we will do that more often, you are getting out of shape for my fun adventures!”

Jimmy turned around shaking his head and Ave and I began to close up the store, I really had to leave a message for Matt, I didn’t want him to worry too much.
We had been so good these past weeks, since the guys were back home, I didn’t want to scare him with me being gone without a sign, even though he must know Jimmy would be behind that, which still wouldn’t ease his mind probably.

Especially since Matt was finally healthy again, and the stupid throat infection had completely subsided, he had wanted to go to the studio right away, but I could convince him to stay home for a few days and hell did we use those days… I even arranged that little nurse outfit he wanted… and god, he made up for it.

“Earth to Maya? What’s going on in that pretty little head of yours?” Jimmy asked while Ave closed the door behind us.
“I bet I knew who is in that head? And his name starts with an M- and ends with an -att!” Avery said and chuckled “Those two are glued to each other, haven’t you noticed Jimbo? They are even worse than before?” Ave sang and I rolled my eyes “As if you and Brown eyes were any different. My new best friend is called voicemail, I spend hours on talking to that thing, instead of my best friend!” I shot back and Ave blushed a little, served her right, I stuck my tongue out to her.

Jimmy held the car door open and let us get in, we greeted Jess and quickly caught up on everything that had been going on, we hadn’t seen her in a while, cause she had visited her parents and after she came back Jimmy had closed her in in his home, so this was practically the first time we really saw her.

“Ladies! Ladies… LADIES!” Jimmy yelled between us and finally our chattering stopped.
“I allow my queen to send a text to one of the boys… but not Matt and Brian. You get to choose between Zack or Johnny! We will leave them a hidden message they can or cannot pass over to Matt and Brian… that’s up to them. We will then start our mission, the send text may be the starting signal.” Jimmy announced his voice serious and he motioned Jess to pull her phone out.

“Who shall it be?” Jess asked and I looked at Ave and we both said in unison “Zack” We nodded and Jess signaled she was fine with that.
“What should I write, babe?” She looked at Jimmy and he tipped a finger against his chin, thinking deeply.

“Write, ‘Hidden and safe, the precious three, don’t be alarmed, no need to be. The night will be mine, the price is to pay, the music finally will start to play…” Jimmy nodded to himself and I frowned.
“Read it to me” Jimmy said and Jess read the text again, Jimmy nodded to each phrase and I looked confused over to Ave, what the hell?

“What does that mean?” I asked and Jimmy’s eyes widened “YOU don’t get it? Oh my.. It’s been too long, right? How could I let this come so far, I knew I should have taken you on a mission right after the Big Bear thing, but no… I wasn’t allowed to…” Jimmy shook his head frustrated, cursing under his breath.

“Hidden and safe… precious three…” Ave mused “That’s us, right?” Jimmy nodded “Good little Gnome, not too far gone as I can see.” Jimmy said approvingly to Ave and she smiled triumphantly.

“Brian and Matt shouldn’t worry… I got that as well… but what price to pay and music play?” I said out loud and both Jimmy and Jess got a smirk on their faces, did that has something to do with writing for the new record? But then why need us for that?

“You can send it now and our mission will start” Jimmy announced, when Jess hit the send button Jimmy turned around and handed me and Ave two scarfs. “Jimmy, what is that about?” Ave asked uncertain and I took the black scarf as well while Jess sighed “Really? Do I need that too?” She asked also holding one scarf in hand and Jimmy nodded.

“I am the only knowing, I am the Knife Master and you three precious beings, will be at my mercy.” He grinned and I rolled my eyes, we were in on this anyway, no way out. I took the scarf and blindfolded myself and Jimmy nodded just before my eyes went dark, after some more discussion the car finally started and Jimmy took off with us into the unknown area.

We drove for quite a while, Jimmy was humming something under his breath, but it was nothing I knew, at least that’s what I thought.

“First destination, you wait here… I’ll be back in a few” Jimmy said and then the door opened and slammed shut.
“Jess, do you know what he is planning?” I asked and heard some rustling, like Jess turned around in her seat, even though she was blindfolded as well “No, he just said he needed all of us to finish something, but not what and not how or where…” She said and the door opened again, Jimmy started the engine and off we drove.

After another drive we stopped finally, Jimmy took of the blindfolds and handed each of us a cup with liquid in it, I looked suspiciously at the drink and sniffed at it.

“You won’t know what it is… do you remember the party I made, where I made the perfect drink… THE PERFECT DRINK?! That’s it!” Jimmy announced and I shrugged downing all of it and Jimmy’s eyes widened “Careful, Knife girl, it’s heavy stuff…” He said but downed his cup as well, Ave and Jess followed but took a little longer.

The alcohol burned down my throat, it indeed was a heavy mixture and instead of leaving it with that, he did a refill three times, we were already laughing and getting a little tipsy by these drinks when
Jimmy announced that that’s exactly what he needed - us just in the right mood and to proof his calculations he said three cups would achieve that, while he would need at least one more.
“Who will drive us back afterwards?” I slurred, the alcohol seemed to hit me pretty damn fast and my eyes moved over to Ave, she swallowed the last drop and blinked her eyes “This is making me drunk fast…” She slurred and giggled.

“Who said something about driving back?! I planned everything through and yeah it does, doesn’t it?!” Jimmy chuckled but then put a serious face on, but why didn’t I believe him that he planned any of this… probably because I knew him better than that.

“You are in the right mood, now follow my lead” He got out of the car and took Jess and Ave’s hand while I kept a firm hold on Jimmy’s shirt, afraid of losing them, even though it was only slightly getting dark outside, how much time had we spend driving and drinking now?!

Jimmy led us towards a house I haven’t seen before and then pressed himself against the garage side wall, holding his finger to his mouth to silence us.
My phone buzzed and I quickly pulled it out to get a look at it and to shut it off, seeing that it was Matt calling, ohhh… Matt…

“Shut it off! Knife girl, don’t you dare think of picking up” He hissed and I pushed Matt’s call away and shut off my phone with a heavy heart.

“Whose house is this?” Avery asked quietly and Jimmy grinned “That’s for you to find out, little gnome.” He moved forward and the front door opened, we all pressed ourselves firmer against the wall, hoping not to be seen.

“Dude! Have you heard anything from Jimmy?! The guys been asking about him?!” Jason’s voice was heard and now I knew whose house that was.
“No idea, probably shut himself into his house writing…” Dan’s voice sounded back and then Matt Berry’s “Or he took the girls on one of his rides? Lucky bastard, I would want to be on one of those too… I mean, having those three girls just for myself…” Matt’s voice got husky and then a slap sounded “Shut up, they are all taken” Jason again and some more chuckling “As if you wouldn’t be thinking the same” Matt again and I had to suppress my giggle, these guys were hilarious!

“Gotta go, see you guys later!” Dan’s voice again and then a door slamming shut and a car engine starting and driving away.
“Are we safe?” I asked and Jimmy held his hand up signing us to wait.
“Wait some more” He mouthed and then the front door shut and we all sighed in relief.

“What are we doing here Jimmy?” Jess asked and both Ave and I nodded, why were we at the Berry’s house?!
“I need inspiration… and for that I need you girls, I need action and we need to find out what the Berry’s plan together with The Body and I need my spare drum kit… and all that I can find in this house, BUT-” Jimmy looked at each one of us.“I need you girls for the distraction part to help me. I got some Mary Jane with me for our fun… and some more special drinks but first we gotta get either rid of the Berry’s or drag them to our side… what do you think we should do?!” Jimmy asked and I looked at Jess and then at Ave shrugging, the alcohol making me dizzy but in a good way, definitely good way.

“Do you think you girls will manage to drag them to the dark side or should we get rid of them?!” Jimmy winked and I saw Ave swallow thickly, probably thinking what he meant with getting rid of them?!
“Ave can totally drag Jason to our side” Jess chuckled and I had to suppress a loud giggle and Ave slapped my shoulder and then Jess, but missing both of us nearly, staggering forward.
“That’s just… oh whatever, as if MB wouldn’t fly for you, Maya… so don’t play innocent, you just heard them!” Ave crossed her arms over her breasts and Jimmy grinned.

“Alright, the decision is up to you… I’ll get the equipment and you tell me when I get back how we will proceed… I’ll be back in a minute, then I need to hear the plan” Jimmy said and then suddenly threw himself onto the ground, crawling all the way back to the car leaving me, Jess and Ave speechless… so a decision needs to be made!

Brian’s POV

“You get wrinkles if you keep that face up, Haner?!” Matt’s voice sounded beside me and he plopped down on the couch, his legs propped up on the small table.
“Huh?” I looked at him confused and he chuckled some more “That’s makes it even worse, believe me.”

I frowned, still not getting what he was talking about, I was lost in thoughts, I had so many ideas and concerns and just disturbing thoughts running in my head that I couldn’t keep up with him and his stupid comments.
“What’s up with you? You look a little stressed? Got problems with the little one?” Matt asked finally and his face turned more serious.

I shook my head, it was more the opposite, all these days since we came back from Big Bear were near to perfection, I knew it wouldn’t always be like this, it couldn’t be, but it became clearer and clearer to me that, Ave was the one… the one woman, I would never let go again.

The words from Zack were swirling around in my head and I couldn’t shake them off, I wanted Ave to be mine, I wanted to have her all to myself and I wanted the world to know, that she was taken.
That Ave and I were family, that she was supposed to be my… my wife.

Damn, I wanted to marry her! I wanted to make it official, since Big Bear I haven’t talked to anyone about my plans, had thought maybe they would subside, but they gotten stronger and stronger, more ideas forming, the more I wrote on the song for Ave the more it was building up inside of me and the clearer the vision I became, and maybe… just maybe now was the time to at least let Matt in on my thoughts.

“No, Ave and I are good… we are damn good actually.” I finally answered Matt’s question and he nodded, but he didn’t seem to completely believe me.
“Yo?! Guys, we gonna get something to eat, what you want?” Zack yelled from the entrance and I shrugged “Where are you going?” I yelled back and he and Johnny shrugged “Haven’t decided, so if you don’t have a favorite, we just gonna take what we like and you gotta live with it!”

I rolled my eyes “Fine, then get enough from whatever for all of us” And with that Johnny and Zack left and it seemed like the perfect moment to confide in my friend.
“I probably won’t be eating much, gonna pick up Maya from the store in a bit” Matt smiled and I haven’t seen my friend this happy… like ever, maybe that meant he would understand me, he did already in Big Bear, but now that the thoughts got even more concrete, maybe he would tell me it was bullshit and too early, or he would encourage me to go through.

Maybe… I should even ask Maya, she was more similar to me than any of the guys, that is… maybe that could give me some hints about how Ave would react?
But shit.. I’m gonna try it with Matt first.

“You gonna take Maya out for dinner?” I asked jumping in thoughts and Matt leaned back nodding “Yeah, we planned to have a nice dinner at our favorite restaurant, some dancing and celebrating before the busy days start with her being the owner of a popular store… You didn’t have plans for Ave?” Matt lifted his eyebrows at me and I shrugged feeling a little dumb, I had been secretly planning a lot, but haven’t thought about something like that… Shit!

“Now, stop the bullshit, Brian.. What’s going on? I don’t have to fucking beat you up because you have something going on behind Ave’s back? Because I would fucking beat you up, you know my destiny is aligned with yours because they are best friends and I am not letting you ruin anything for me…” Matt narrowed his eyes and I had to chuckle.

“Don’t worry. You don’t have to beat me up and you don’t have to send Maya to do that either. It’s really quite the opposite.” I tried again and Matt frowned “What’s that supposed to mean?” He asked and I closed my eyes briefly and then pulled out the papers with Ave’s song.

“I completed it” I held the notes and lyrics out for Matt to look at and he whistled after reading, “That’s a fucking great song, I told you before, and you figured out the harmony… damn it’s amazing. Should we record it right away?” Matt asked sounding excitedly but I shook my head.

“Honestly… One of the reasons, I’m keeping it away is… I want Ave to hear it… first” I said carefully and Matt began to look confused.
“You want me to sing that to Ave? That’s kinda.. weird.” Matt said with a small smirk “Which doesn’t mean I wouldn’t… But you tell that to Maya then, when all I can sing to her is a song about Insanity” Matt chuckled and I had to join in.

“No, actually… I wanna sing that to Ave… but not just like that… Shit, listen… I have been thinking about this for quite a while… I want… I want to make it official, I want to seal the deal, like I told you on Big Bear.” I finally admitted and Matt seemed to get right away what I meant.

“You wanna propose?” He asked a huge smile spreading on his face “Damn, man.. that’s fucking awesome! Who would have thought you would be the first!” He clapped my shoulder, hard and made me wince a bit.
“I.. Yeah… I haven’t planned everything through, and maybe I could need your help.” I finally said and Matt nodded eagerly.

“Sure man, so we gonna make this song perfect… and do you have a ring? You can’t fucking propose without a ring, man?! And… oh shit, you thought about talking to Larry?” Matt’s winced and I shook my head that was one of the things I had pushed far away from me.

“I want to ask him… I mean.. I fucking should, right? But you know how protective he is… and after everything went the way it did, I have no idea how he will react… and I don’t want Ave to find out… It’s been already pretty fucking hard to keep everything I was planning from her” I sighed loudly, I didn’t even want to have any secrets from Ave, but I also didn’t want her to find out what I was doing. I wanted it to be a surprise, but that was pretty hard to be honest, because we weren’t apart, and I didn’t want to be apart from her.

“So, what’s the plan?” Matt asked and pulled his phone out “Damn, it’s getting late… I haven’t heard from Maya all day since she left… I’m gonna call her and tell her I’ll be a little later… so she won’t worry” Matt pushed a few buttons on his phone and waited, frowning.
“She pushed me away and didn’t pick up… what’s that about?” He tried again “Straight to voicemail, what the fuck”

“Probably busy with Ave in the shop… I’m gonna call Ave in a bit” I said and looked at my phone, also no message or call, damn I was so used to spending nearly every hour of the day with her, that I couldn’t sit still not knowing what she was doing.

“What do you say, Shads? Would you go with me to Larry? I mean… Ave and Maya will be busy with the opening, still preparing some things. Larry planned to show up here anyway for the grand opening, so… what if we catch him before that?” I asked, that thought had been running around in my head for long, but I would need the help of my best friend, I knew that.

“Yeah man, sure. I’m with you, I wouldn’t worry too much… I mean… he knows Ave loves you, and as long as you don’t fuck up, he’ll approve, maybe you just need to fucking… think about some good lines to tell him. Like what you plan for Ave in the future, how you will make her happy all the fucking time… and if you want a family with her someday, but that of course her job is important as well and you support her.” Matt seemed like he zoomed out and was talking to someone else but me, had he been thinking about this as well… for Maya?!

“Are you still talking to me?” I asked with a lifted brow and Matt chuckled when he looked back at me “Man, I just thought about Maya, I would love to take that step, but I’m afraid she will chicken out. That I could ruin everything with asking her to be mine for always, but I’ll get her there… maybe after Ave’s got the ring on her finger I can convince her, that I’m an even better husband then you are.”

“So I can count you in?” I asked and Matt nodded “Sure man, you wanna take the others with you? Or should this stay between us?” Matt asked and I thought about that for a moment, I had to tell them anyway, but not today… “For now between us, but maybe soon I’ll come clean about the plans… Let me call Ave now.. I have no idea where Zack and Short shit went for the food, but I’d rather spend my evening with Ave then with those two who probably won’t come back anymore.”

I pulled my phone out and my call went straight to voicemail “Hey love, call me back when you get this, I wanna take you out to dinner, just you and me… Love you, bye”

“She probably won’t reply to that” Zack’s voice sounded from the entrance, food in hands and both Matt and I turned around “Why would you say that?” I asked frowning, what the fuck does he know about my girl now?!

“Zack received a message from Jess about an hour or two ago, with some weird text… and well, we could bet that Jess better half is involved in that, so you should be prepared not to see your girls this evening or better all night” Johnny set the food on the table before us and I ran a hand through my hair, did I really wanna know what Jimmy was up to?!

“Fucking read it then, Maya and I had plans for tonight, damn it! I really hate that guy sometimes… you remember what happened the last time? Skinny dipping with the three girls?” Matt said and I cringed, I will fucking kill him if he was up to something like that this time!

“I fucking remember… and damn that was a sight!” Zack said excitedly and I groaned “Will you fucking shut up and read!” I told him and Zack put the food away, and grabbed his phone and read out loud:

“Hidden and safe, the precious three, don’t be alarmed, no need to be. The night will be mine, the price is to pay, the music finally will start to play…” Zack finished and I looked at Matt with a frown “Damn it… what the fuck is that supposed to mean… and what should we do now?”
