Brian’s POV

I waited until Zack and the others left for the after party, I had a plan and I needed them to leave.
I have been thinking about doing it or not the entire day, but in the end I wasn’t strong enough, I had to do it… I just had to.

“You really don’t wanna come, Gates?” Zack asked before leaving and I held my beer up “No, thanks got everything I need here… maybe I’m coming by later.” I answered and he nodded.
And I just hoped he wouldn’t realize that I got his phone hidden in my bunk, it was hard enough to sneak it out of his pants while he was talking to Jimmy.
“You sure? I could also stay?” Zack asked again, turning a final time, and I nodded, already getting annoyed.

“I’m fucking sure, just go.. have fun… at least one of us should” I slurred a little to make him think I was too drunk to do anything else stupid anyway.
“Alright, I think Matt will be back soon, too. He just wanted to discuss something with MB and then come back.” Zack said and then finally moved down the steps of the bus and I moved to the window, to check if he was really gone until he was finally out of my view.

I quickly shut the door and ran to my bunk, grabbing the phone from there and started scrolling down the numbers, why in hell does this fucker need so many numbers in his phone, god!
“Jacobson… Avery.. yes!” I sighed seeing her name and quickly dialed her number, it was already after eleven, but I hoped she wouldn’t be asleep, wherever she was.

“Babe, pickup.. please” I begged and finally I heard someone on the other side.
“Hello?” Ave’s voice said and she sounded happy, loud music in the background, then some giggling, a male voice and the phone was silent and then the music blared again, more laughing and suddenly Maya’s voice.

“Maya, don’t hang up. It’s Brian…please listen-” But I don’t think she even heard me, cause she just said “Sorry… Miss Jacobson is currently unavailable… try again tomorrow!” And hung up on me.
“Maya! Fuck!” I yelled and was about to throw the phone to the floor when Zack came running back, the door burst open and he looked out of breath.

“Gates! Fuck, what the hell did you do?” Zack grabbed the phone from my hands and looked at the last outgoing call.
“You didn’t, did you? Damn it, Brian!” He yelled at me and looked frustrated at his phone.
“I did and you wanna know what?” I asked him and shoved him a little to get an outlet of my frustration.
“What Brian? What? She didn’t pick up? She didn’t wanna talk to you? Surprise Surprise” He shoved me right back and I took a step forward and got into his face when Matt appeared in the door.

“What the fuck is going on here? Get off each other!” Matt pushed both of us an arm’s length away and I narrowed my eyes, I knew Matt would have done the same if he saw the opportunity.
“What is going on? Tell him!” Zack shoved Matt’s arm away and straightened his clothes.

“I called Ave…” Matt head snapped to me at my words.
“How? Was Maya there? Where are they? What did she say?” Matt demanded and Zack sighed “Should have known better… Don’t fucking take my phone again!” Zack pointed at me and left me and Matt alone, he was pissed but honestly I didn’t give a damn, he held a secret from me that he was talking to my girl the entire time… asshole!

“Brian! Concentrate, what happened? What did she say?” Matt asked and I closed my eyes.
“Not much, there was loud music in the background, Ave slurred, they must have been at a party and not realize that it was me calling…” I swallowed thickly before I continued, “There… there was a guy talking to Ave, I couldn’t make out the exact words but, she was laughing… fuck, we need to find them… what if she really moved on?”

“Was Maya there? Did you hear her?” Matt asked without answering any of my questions and I nodded finally “She took the phone when Ave.. was occupied, she said to call back tomorrow…” I plopped down into the bench and Matt fell down beside me.

“That’s it?!” He asked and I nodded feeling more frustrated than ever “That’s it… as if that wasn’t enough… fuck I mean… what does that mean? They are having fun… partying… fuck this!” I let my head sink down on the table in frustration with a loud bang.

“Any hint of where they were?” Matt asked after a while and I sighed lifting my head up again.
“No idea… nothing that gave that away.” I looked at him and he was rubbing his hand over his face.
“What if… what do you think if we ask Jess… she must be talking to the girls, too. Maybe she knows where they are… if we tell her just how much we miss them… and that it’s a big mistake, maybe… she will at least tell us where we could find them?” Matt asked and I looked up, would Jess tell us?

“You think she knows?” I asked him and he just shrugged, “No idea, but we could give it a try, right? It’s worth a try.. and better then doing nothing… at least you heard their voices… I wish… fuck I wish to hear Maya’s voice…” Matt sighed and I regretted telling him about it, but keeping even more secrets wouldn’t help us now.

“Alright, you wanna talk to Jess and I distract Jimmy so he won’t know what we plan?” I asked Matt and he nodded “Yeah, I will talk to her you go on a trip with Jimmy… alright?”
I sighed “Just a hint, just a small hint… that’s all we need, damn it.”

Maya’s POV

I gotta admit that I was a little stunned when Ben had kissed me, but after all the drinks we had and the special drink he made us I could have mistake some of his advanced earlier already.
He had been nothing but nice this evening and he had been nothing but a gentleman, which for Ben Bruce was more than I thought he ever could be.

I had heard stories about him and I have seen him around a couple of girls before and let’s be honest he was a guy out for the hunt and nothing else.
So I was surprised when I pulled away from the kiss and he looked, well… a little disappointed that I stopped but didn’t push for more right away.

And I had to say that the kiss was more than just a little distraction, he was a good kisser and the piercings in his bottom lip were a nice distraction, making me not picture Matt all over, cause of that I was afraid, honestly I had been thinking about what would happen if I would find someone who attracted me enough that I would go for it again, because I haven’t done that… since my break up with Matt.

I haven’t neared any men since months… so Ben had been the first to take that step and took that choice away from me and I was kind of glad it was him. With him I didn’t have to be afraid that he wanted more and I didn’t have to tell him more than I already did, that way he knew, not in detail but he knew some of the things that happened, and that was enough for him to get that I was hurt.

The later it got and the more alcohol was entering my body the less I cared that the kisses grew heavier and hungrier and that we were still outside his patio, heavily making out.
When his hands moved up to my breasts kneading them until I couldn’t suppress the moan anymore I heard a slight chuckle from him and opened my eyes.
He immediately kissed me again before I could even say something, god, he was really good at this distraction thing, no question about it.

“Ben.. wait” I said when his mouth was slowly wandering down my throat and when he heard my voice he leaned a little back, his eyes were glazed over just like mine must be but I still didn’t want this to go too far and if he expected more from me, it was loss.

He met my eyes for a moment and then nodded, “Alright… but you gotta give me a couple of minutes before we can go anywhere, because, fuck… I won’t be able to walk right now” He covered his crotch with his hands and I had to chuckle, leaning back against his side while he groaned “That’s not helping, Maya.”

“Sorry” I patted his cheek and was glad he was still not mad at cock blocking him and I was coming to think, why I didn’t just… do it…if someone was the right person for a fun without attachment, it would be him probably.

I shook my head and stared up at the early morning sky, I hadn’t even realized that it was getting morning already…
“It’s been exactly what I needed…” I was still drunk or high or better still a combination from it but it was beginning to wear of now.
“Yeah, wish I could say the same, babe” Ben smirked at me while he adjusted his pants and I elbowed him in the side “Just kidding, ouch.. You not up for jokes, huh?” He laid his arm back around me and pulled me into his side.

“I had a great night too… how about I bring you home, you got classes this morning? Or we wanna get breakfast somewhere? We could take Ave with us and James…” Ben asked and only mentioning breakfast and my stomach began to growl, but then I realized… AVE!

“Shit, where is Ave?! I totally forgot about her!” I sat up so quick that I had to grab on to Ben to steady myself again and he just chuckled “She was with James the entire time, don’t worry. He didn’t leave her alone… she is fine, probably home already.” Ben suggested and I calmed down a little, right…

“I need to go home, see if she is there and get ready for my class… I fucking hell, can you call me a cab?” I asked and frowned, what time was it even?
“Yeah, wait… maybe I can find Sam, he didn’t drink… he must be around somewhere, he can drive us.” Ben got up and opened the door I tried to calm down a little and followed him, after a couple of minutes Ben came walking back with Sam by his side and he smiled at me but looked tried “Hey Maya, haven’t seen you all evening, but nice to have you in our home country” He grinned and I nodded, too much talk for me so early.. or late.

“Thanks.. did you drink? Or could you drive me home? I could walk, but-” I started to trail off, not really knowing if I would get home in my state of mind now.
“Don’t worry. I’ll drive you home, I was the only sober ass tonight, but hey… at least now I can help you out.” He motioned towards the door and when I walked out Ben followed and I frowned “What are you doing?”
“Making sure he brings you home...” Ben shrugged and I had to smile “Not trusting your band mates?”
“Nope, you should never trust a bass player, love” Ben said and shoved Sam forward who just showed him a finger.

When we arrived at the apartment which Ave and I shared, she was not there of course… I tried to call her but she didn’t pick up… I got worried and I was glad I wasn’t alone, Ben stayed and tried to get a hold on James as well, but he didn’t answer either…

I went to the shower while Ben made sure I didn’t miss Ave’s arrival or any calls, but when I came back out still nothing new.
Until I heard someone at the door, I scrambled to the door and found the crying Avery, James behind her, his shirt was wet, must be from her tears and I narrowed my eyes on him, what did he do?!

“He-he-he… knows…” She fell into my arms on the couch and I tried to soothe her “He knows everything” She sobbed again and I looked up to Ben and James, they looked as helpless as I did.

“It’s okay Ave… what does he know? What happened?” I knew exactly who ‘he’ was so I had no need to ask for that.
Ave told me about the call and I sucked in air, Matt must know something too… but would that change anything? No, it wouldn’t…

“But Ave… that doesn’t matter, does it? He was the one being a jerk... again! He betrayed you for fucks sake! He should know you are out having fun, he should know that you deserve having fun as much as anyone else does, little gnome” I told her and Ave was still crying, “But… I had no idea… that it- it was him…” Ave looked at me with her eyes full of tears and my heart broke for her and a little bit for me again, how fucking perfect that on the first night we were out having fun, this had to happen…

James’ POV

I didn’t really know what to do, Ave was still looking so crushed that I just wanted to hold her and hug her, but I couldn’t, not now. She wouldn’t want that now, would she?

Even if it was only meant as a friendly gesture, when I saw the shock on her face when she woke up next to me this morning, I was a little offended, at first… but then I realized that for Ave her relationship really was not that over over… as it should be.

“Ave, are you really sure that I can leave you?” Maya asked standing at the door, she had some classes to attend to and Ben the gentleman, that he not is normally, suggested he could bring her there.

“I’m okay… don’t worry.” Ave said quietly and I was torn between wanting to stay and not knowing if it was the right thing, but hell I couldn’t leave her alone now.
“I’ll stay and be your company if you like? We could head out to get some breakfast… I know my ways around here… so if you like…” Maybe that would help her get to other thoughts, being alone would only bring her back to the one topic, right?

“No you don’t have to-” Avery started but Maya interrupted her with a smile “That’s a brilliant idea. You go have a nice breakfast and I will be back before you know it…” Maya kissed my cheek and shoved me onto the couch next to Ave before she kissed Ave’s forehead and grabs her bag and nearly runs out of the door.

“You really don’t have to be here. I am not the best of company right now.” Avery sighed loudly and I chuckled “I had pretty much fun with you yesterday, so I think I will stay and enjoy your company some more… And Ave, don’t think I don’t know what heartbreak is, alright? Because I learned that lesson, too… if you wanna talk to me about what happened I’m here… if you wanna talk to me about anything else, I’m all ears.”

Avery looked up from wringing her hands and met my eyes for a moment “It’s too hard still, but thanks, maybe I will come back to that sometime…” She whispered and I nodded “Good, so how about, you quickly get in the shower and redress and we do a quick stop at my home so I can change my shirt and then we get something to eat? You must be starving…” I asked and Avery nodded.

“Sounds like a plan… and thanks… for yesterday… I think I had fun too, even though I don’t remember most of it.” Avery gave me a small smile and I nodded.
“Don’t worry, we will just repeat the fun part and reduce the alcohol a little so you also remember what had been going on.” I playfully shoved her shoulder and she chuckled “That’s a good idea. Excuse me, I will grab that shower we have been talking about.” She got up and after about 30 minutes she came back in jeans and a shirt, her hair pulled up in a ponytail and I had to say, she never looked cuter.
“You ready?” She asked and motioned to the door. “I am as long as you are.” She nodded and held the door open.

Next we quickly stopped at my home and I jumped into the shower and grabbed a set of new clothes and then I took Avery to my favorite bakery, I told her what my favorite dishes were and we ordered a little bit of everything while we sipped our coffee.

Avery was still distant and looked sometimes at her phone with something that was a mixture between hope and disgust and I tried to distract her as best as I could… until she shrank back when her phone really began to ring.

“Hello?” She asked carefully and then sighed loudly “Oh Maya… no, I’m fine. James and I are having breakfast… we meet back at our apartment, sure… okay see you… don’t worry. Bye” She put the phone away and chuckled.

“What?” I asked and Ave rolled her eyes “She called me from class, and I think the professor caught her and she just said it was an emergency call… She wanted to know if I’m alright and that she will come home after her classes are done.”

“She is crazy sometimes, right?” I chuckled and Avery nodded “You have no idea…” But apparently she was also able to get Avery to other thoughts and that was good, maybe… if the girls were up to it Ben and I could think about some nice things to do, while they were still here… because I had to admit, I enjoyed Ave’s company and why not enjoy it some more if it was possible.
