Untold Misfortunes

Bargain with the Devil

Matt had fallen asleep, gripping my waist, while keeping his face nestled into my hip. I stared at him for as long as my eyes would stay open. His hair was longer now, long enough that I could run my fingers through it and I found myself doing just that. He looked so peaceful while he slept, it made my heart ache.
"Oh, Matt, I've missed you so much." I found myself whispering to him as tears stung my eyes.
He was such a beautiful man, as odd as that sounds. He enjoyed life, rocking to music and drinking beers and living life just as he wanted to. That's how I wanted to remember him at all times. Even when I went to Australia, my mind would wander to how his smile made my heart sing and how his rough voice made me want to do anything he wanted me to do. Or how his honey hazel eyes shined in the bright sun of California, and how he had that sparkle of life in them, that I always cherished.
I never wanted to see him on the day I left. I never wanted to see him broken or hurt and desperate for me to stay. I never wanted to see him so heartbroken again. I couldn't handle how his pain would lash out in anger and how that when he did show his angry side, it terrified me; especially when it was directed towards me.
But Matt would always have a special place in my heart, no matter what rash decision I decided on. Which was why I started to slowly move his arm from around my waist and gently replace my hip with a pillow.
"I love you, Matt and all the other guys. Never ever forget that. I promise to get Jimmy awake for you guys," I paused, my lower lip quivering. "You just may never, ever see me again." With that being said, I quickly spun away from him and left the house, making sure to be quiet as to not wake Brian.
I sat in my car for a few minutes, taking deep breaths, trying to shake the tears that wanted to fall. I was doing this to help them, to get my brother back. It was the only thing that I could do, as I pulled my car out of the driveway and headed to the place my nightmares began at.
Luka's house was just as I remembered it; dark and looming tall. I hated it, but I parked in his driveway, hoping that he was home. I walked up to the door, slamming my fist against his front door.
"What you want?" A petite girl answered the door, fully nude. She pursed her lips staring me down and I suddenly felt very uncomfortable with her staring at me.
"Ivy Sullivan." She said again. "Come on in, Luka's waiting for you." She opened the door further and as I walked in, I noticed multiple men and women in the house, completely nude.
"I assume you remember where his room is, then?" She asked and I nodded as I headed up the stairs and down the hallway to the door at the very end. Oh, how I hated this room.
I knocked politely, three times, then waited. He trained me to be like that, and now that I was in his house, all my old mannerism he trained me to be like, were coming back. It was like the scent of the house, had my mind foggy and remembering just how much of a good girl I could be.
He answered his door with a smug smirk and shirtless. "Ivy, I'm glad you came back, babe."
"I'll only come back if you do two things for me."
I was going to bargain with the devil, and if it killed me, so be it.
