Sweet Things (Rewrite)
Chapter Four
Erin’s P.O.V
I was back inside and Matt was with Zacky and Johnny and Brian was of course off being his usual flirty self with some random girl, he was drunk and you could tell
“Sanders really? My cousin?” I asked giving him the worst glare of my life
“Hey can’t blame a guy for trying” He said and I was pretty pissed with him but Zack pulled me away and to a less bass booming room. He smiled at me and I felt pretty in the zone with him, for the past two years we would flirt and such but he never really fully made a move… maybe tonight was the night?
“So you are definitely gonna come to band practice next week right?” He asked and I rolled my eyes and nodded trying to smile through it.
“Yeah of course I will be there… when have I ever missed one of the days?” I asked, I spent a lot of time… hopefully now I would get Hannah to go with me since I could see her and Jimmy hitting it off outside, Zack was talking and I was watching and I put my hand on his and trailed it down locking my pinky with his.
“Are we gonna talk about us… or your band?” I asked raising my eyebrow at him, Zack was the quiet one around people he didn’t know but to me he was crazy and a bit of a bad boy and I mean, he was honestly exactly the type of guy I was into… not to mention that eyebrow game… strong.
“Us?” He asked flat out and I just let out a small laugh smiling widely.
“Are we gonna go another year of this? Because I mean I think we both know what we want” I said and he couldn’t help but smile back at me, he leaned in and I was pretty sure he was going to kiss me but my phone ran loudly, it was my dad’s ringtone and even though I ignored it the first time he didn’t stop
“Why don’t you take it, I know that if he is calling you like that it means either its super important or you are in major trouble” Zack stated and you could see the disappointment spread across his face, but you really needed to take the call
“Dad! WHAT?! I told you I was going out!” I said snapping
“Erin you do not give me that tone, not when I come home and the house is a mess! I bet you were doing exactly what I think you were doing! You leave without even cleaning! You get your ass home right now!” He shouted at me through the phone.
“I DIDN’T DO IT!” I shouted back
“RIGHT NOW YOUNG LADY!” He said he was being stern and he hung up before I could even try to tell him anything. I turned to Zack who already probably heard half of what my dad said hence why Dad would never say magic or craft on the phone.
“I am so so sorry but I have to go, I had really hoped to spend more time with you tonight and put this outfit to good use” I said giving him a wink
“Well let me walk you out at least!” He said being a little bit of a gentleman, he walked me out and I made sure to stop by Hannah so that she didn’t think I was just walking out on her since she wasn’t exactly wanting to fully come tonight.
“Hey so dad called me… pissed as fuck apparently and SUPPOSEDLY but not proven I trashed the house and he used the ‘young lady’ card on me so I gotta go… Do you wanna come with and I can drop your off or what?” I asked her and Jimmy instantly butted into the conversation.
“I can take her back… I mean if that’s okay” He said and I couldn’t help but glance at Hannah who nodded and I could see the go away look and I couldn’t help but laugh at the situation, I walked to my car down the street with Zack and turned around smiling as I made it to the door
“Well I am at least glad that you came” Zack said a little awkwardly, whenever he flirted with me he got all shy and it was adorable but it like he forgets the courageous loud mouth girl I am
“We should hangout sometime soon… like you and me” I said and he took a second and I made a hand motion with it and he understood.
“Goodnight I guess?” I said and I was about to turn but he pressed his lips against mine right at the last minute and I kissed him back pulling away getting in the car letting the window down
“Night E… definitely gonna hang out soon” He said winking… there was the Zack I knew, he
stepped back and I drove home… not being able to stop smiling even though I knew dad was waiting there ready to kick my ass.
Third Person
Erin was speeding home, she was happy and the kiss actually happened between her and Zack and that was great and all but earlier when her dad came home the house was a wreck and everything was scattered on the floor, obviously he was livid and seeing that Erin knew how to control things, he assumed that she had a fit and threw things off shelves like she used to as a kid, when she got inside her dad was sitting down on the couch surrounded by trash bags full of unsalvageable items
“I can’t even being to describe how disappointed I am Erin” He said and that definitely hit right in the heart, Erin sat down in the recliner next to the couch ready to plea for her social life.
“Dad come on this wasn’t me! I was with Hannah we went to the party!” She said loudly already getting worked up but she took a breath… she remembered the incident when she was a kid and she had studied and practiced so often it wouldn’t happen
“I DON’T BELIEVE YOU! YA KNOW WHY BECAUSE WE HAVE FUCKING BEEN HERE ERIN! NOW CLEAN UP WHATEVER IS LEFT AND GO TO SLEEP! WE WILL TALK IN THE MORNING!” He shouted not even giving her a chance and went upstairs, Erin was a mess and texted Hannah letting her know that dad was being ridiculous but it wasn’t till around about 1am that Erin got a call from Hannah
“Hey E just got back! So he didn’t even hear you out?!” Hannah said and Erin was still going through the stuff that was around the floor, she could hear Hannah throwing things on the beg and taking jewelry off
“He still assumes it was me, he is using that time I was 7 against me when I threw my fit and things flew off the shelf! But like this place was trashed and like… ya know… I would never EVER do this! HE NEEDS TO CHILL!” Erin said yelling away from the phone cursing her father
“GO TO BED!” Was all he shouted back and Hannah was trying not to laugh
“Okay that incident was brought on when we were little and he is just mad and being unreasonable… by morning he will listen, who would do that though?” Hannah asked and Erin didn’t even know but she had a slight moment when she picked up one of the pictures on the floor of her and Hannah at homecoming making kissy faces and it was like she heard a voice
There is no way to fight it
Erin just threw the picture on the table
“Yo E? You okay?” Hannah asked after Erin had fallen silent for a moment and Erin just shook it off.
“Yeah you’re right, he is just being dramatic and we both need to sleep it off, hope you and Jimmy had a great time I know that he really likes you” She said smiling into the phone lying on the bed
“He is a really good guy and I really like him, we will talk tomorrow if your dad doesn’t kill you! Sweet dreams E!” Hannah said and clicked off and Erin lied there staring at the ceiling, thinking not only about her dad and her powers but about the totally amazing kiss from Zacky.. she hoped for much more and better days soon…
