Hannah

I’d never moved house before in my entire life. I’d been living in the house that my parents brought me home to from the hospital for twenty-two years so this move was bound to be a little difficult for me at first since I was moving across the world into a completely new country.

For the past week or so I’d been sending all of my personal belongings from Scotland over to the new
house and Erin had been there to make sure everything arrived. I decided to splurge a little and treat myself to some new bedroom furniture and have it sent straight to the new house to save on more shipping costs.

I was overcome with a little too much emotion on my first flight out of Scotland – I actually found myself
crying and already missing my family and friends. The second flight was much better because I’d gotten
most of it out of my system, gotten a touch of alcohol in my system and I was just so hyped about being
mere hours away from finally being with Erin. She’d been there for me through so much, especially this past year and when I admitted that I needed a new start and she had suggested that I move out to the states with her it had been a surprisingly easy decision to make. She knew me better than I knew myself sometimes and such a drastic move was exactly what I needed.

When I finally set foot on American ground, I had to take a moment to breathe.

“I’m definitely not in Scotland anymore,” I whispered to myself, hauling my messenger bag more securely onto my shoulder as I walked towards baggage claim.

Erin had offered to meet me at the airport, but I told her to meet me at the house and avoid a clichéd movie moment. I sent a text message to both of my parents from the back of the cab to let them know that I had landed safely and that I missed them and promised to Skype them as soon as I had recovered somewhat from the jetlag that I was already feeling.

I must have dozed off on the ride to the house because the journey didn’t seem all that long, and before I knew it the driver was helping me unload my cases from the trunk and I was paying him the fare. I picked up my cases from the curb as the taxi pulled away and I could only stare up at the house that I would be calling home from this moment onward.

I only made it to the edge of the lawn with my things before I dropped everything and took off running
towards the front door of the house, completely unable to hold my excitement in any longer. I rounded some
of the movers, jumped some boxes and ducked underneath others while calling to the movers, asking them to bring my cases inside for me.

“I’m here!” I called out into the large, practically still empty house, hoping to draw Erin to me from wherever she was hiding.

Suddenly, I heard her coming from the landing upstairs and I watched as she ran down the stairs as quickly as her legs would take her before be tackled me in the tightest hug I’ve ever been given, but I could only return it and fight back my tears of happiness. I couldn’t put into words how good it felt to finally be with Erin after all this time. Once we finally broke out of the hug, she led me into the kitchen.

“I am so glad that you made it!” She squealed “How were the flights out here?” She asked, grabbing two
shot glasses from the kitchen cabinets.

“Long,” I laughed “And very tiring, it’s gonna take a while to adjust but I’m so happy to be out here, E!” I
squeaked, noticing the way Erin’s eyes lit up at my nickname for her.

“Well, let us make a toast…” She offered, grabbing the alcohol “To the new place, a new life and our own piece of heaven!” She poured the shots out and raised her glass as I copied her action “I am so extremely happy to have you here with me!” We downed the shots and I raised my eyebrows at her.

“Girl, you know you wanna do one more!” I laughed, and I was right. Erin poured us another shot before
kicking me out of the kitchen and insisting that I get some sleep and rest up.

I cautiously made my way up the stairs and looked around, taking note of the room that Erin had claimed for herself before making my way to my bedroom. I was walking down the corridor when the lights went off, and I couldn’t help but laugh.

“This house already hates us!” I yelled to Erin through my laughter.

“Be quiet and sleep soon!” She yelled back, laughing as well.

I stepped into my bedroom and closed the door behind me, smiling as I looked around the room that was filled with my new furniture and all of my boxed up belongings that were piled all over the room, the boxes still taped up. Despite the fact that my bed wasn’t made up or anything, as soon as I landed on the bare mattress I slipped into unconsciousness.

Third Person

Matt had been waiting for her at the airport. He knew exactly when her flight was getting in and she wasn’t hard to spot when she left the airport and walked towards the taxi-rank to hail a cab – all of that ginger hair was hard to miss.

Once Hannah was in a cab and on her way to her new home, Matt tailed the cab easily in his black SUV with tinted windows. The young woman was completely unaware that she was being followed, and Matt intended to keep it that way until the time was right to finally introduce himself properly and get his plans moving along swiftly. After a little over thirty minutes, the cab finally pulled up outside the house that the girls were finally moving into, and Matt just continued to drive on by and avoid drawing any attention to himself. It was late, Hannah was bound to be exhausted, so Matt made his way to the end of the street where he had told Brian to meet him as soon as he was finished scoping the place out.

He watched and he waited patiently, despite having excited himself a little over finally being in the same
country as the red-headed beauty. Matt could see the house from his vantage point and smirked to himself when he noticed every light in the house just down the road go out, and he knew that Syn was finally getting to work. A couple of minutes passed before the lights finally turned back on and just a few moments later Synyster was climbing into the vehicle with him.

“I see you took the time to bring something back,” Matt commented, noticing the lipstick stained shot glass in his friend’s hand “Although, all you needed to do was scout out the area, how are we looking?” He asked, glancing back at the house to see Hannah’s bedroom light turn off again.

“Well, she arrived exactly when you said,” Syn told him “The house is big enough that we can easily go
undetected. We can set up some cameras and some sound stuff, too.” Matt inhaled deeply before starting the engine and driving off.

“Very good,” He mused “So, how was it being in the same area as Erin?” Matt asked, even though he knew exactly what reaction he would get from Brian – the man was obsessed.

“Let’s just say the stalking shall soon begin,” Brian chuckled a little darkly “What a wild ride this is gonna
be.”

Hannah

When I woke up this morning I felt much more rested than I had when I’d arrived last night, although, two flights and a few hours of sleep had left me feeling pretty disgusting and in desperate need of a good shower. I rolled off of my bare bed and made my way into the bathroom, noticing as I went that the rest of the house was silent so I assumed that Erin was still sleeping in her bedroom down the corridor.

In the bathroom, I took a couple of minutes to figure out how to turn on the shower and adjust the
temperature to exactly how I liked it and then I stripped out of my clothes and tossed them in the hamper that Erin had already placed in the room when she had first gotten here.

Once the weight of my journey had been completely washed away, I shut the water off and stepped out of the shower, grabbing a towel from the rack and started to dry myself off before wrapping it around my body and taking a second towel to wrap my hair in. As I walked back to my bedroom I could hear Erin moving around in her room, so I quickened my pace and got ready for the day as fast as I could. I dried my hair and left it in its natural waves-slash-curls and applied minimal makeup before getting dressed.

I was supposed to go out and pick up a car for myself in a couple of more hours, so I decided to unpack my things and set up my bedroom exactly how I wanted it. I made my bed, hung my blinds, put clothes in my dressers, filled my shelves and set up my computer desk. Once I was satisfied, I looked around at my hard work and decided that it would do for now and reminded myself that I had all the time in the world to make it look even better and add more belongings into the space.

I hurried downstairs and into the kitchen where I found Erin pouring out two mugs of coffee, and I crept up behind her and hugged her from the back, surprising her, making her scream out and almost spill coffee all over the place but she quickly recovered, laughed a little and turned around to hug me back.

“This is so weird,” I commented, breaking out embrace after a minute “I mean, we’ve talked about this for so long and getting everything set up had taken a while, but now we’re both finally here,”

“I’m so happy that we finally did it, though.” She mused, handing me one of the mugs. As I was taking a sip of the hot liquid I realised that both of our mugs had ‘Mrs’ printed on them and I shot her a questioning look “It was a present from one of my friends back home, a joke – she thought it’d be funny.”

I could only laugh and shake my head at her before taking another drink.

“Shit,” I cursed, placing my coffee down on the counter “I forgot to charge my phone when I got here last night,” I groaned, remembering that I’d left it in my messenger bag by the front door.

“I’ve got you covered,” Erin chuckled, sliding my phone down the counter to me “I knew that you would
have forgotten, so I charged it for you before I went to bed last night,”

“You’re a lifesaver!” I announced loudly as I turned the device back on and it immediately started vibrating with notifications and text messages.

Two were from both of my parents in response to the texts that I had sent them on the ride to the house,
some Tumblr notifications, a Facebook notification and one text message from a contact marked ‘IGNORE THIS NUMBER’, and before I could even read the message my stomach churned in the most horrible of ways.

“Hannah…” Erin spoke softly “Hey, is everything alright?”

My thumb tapped on the message before I had a chance to stop it and I found myself reading the message, my thumb hovering over the message box to respond.

I hope you made it out there safely. I hope to see you soon. – A

I snapped myself out of it, closing the messaging app and locking my phone before quickly slipping it into my pocket.

“Sorry,” I apologized to E with a big smile “Sort of zoned out there for a minute, I’m fine, everything’s
perfect.”

Matt

Hannah was supposed to meet up with one of the guys at the local garage in town this afternoon, so I
was already there when she finally arrived with a huge smile on her face, and an eager attitude about
her. Her outfit for the day was perfect for showing off all of her amazing tattoos, and I had to force
myself not to stare. Unfortunately, it wasn’t time for us to meet yet so I had to keep myself hidden in the
back by one of the work benches where she most likely wouldn’t notice me. You see, there are
advantages of having friends plastered all over town.

I watched the owner of the garage walk out from his office, and when he saw Hannah his body
language changed completely, he was smirking, wiping grease from his hands and looked like an
animal about to pounce on its prey.

“You must be Hannah,” The owner smirked even wider, eyeing Hannah from head to toe.

“That’s me,” Hannah smiled politely back at him “Is she all ready to go?” She asked.

“Just about,” He nodded, finally looking at her face “One of my guys is just finishing getting her all
polished up for you,”

“Perfect!” She cheered happily, adorably.

“Shall we step into my office for a minute?” The guy suggested, touching the bare skin of her arm
“There’s some paperwork for you to sign and, of course, the matter of payment.”

“Don’t you worry about that,” Hannah winked at him breezily “I’ve got every last penny right here,” She
patted her messenger bag.

The two of them walked by me and I ducked my head, looking away from them for a moment as they
passed so that I remained unnoticed by her.

I couldn’t hear what they were saying once they were inside the office with all of the noise in the garage
going on around me, but I could see them through the small window in the wall, and what I saw I didn’t
like at all. This disgusting pig of a man was touching her arm and obviously making her uncomfortable
while she read over the paperwork that she was about to sign, and once she leaned over slightly to
signs where she needed to sign, his hand moved down onto her ass and I was about to blow a fucking
fuse, but she stood up straight and started yelling at the guy. He didn’t seem to phased by her yelling,
and raised his hand to brush back some of the loose strands of hair that had fallen out of her ponytail
and were framing her face but she was quick to grab his wrist and bend his arm halfway up his back,
causing him to writhe and try to move away from her. She said something to him before letting him go
and scribbling her signature on the pieces of paper. Before he had recovered, she tossed a fully loaded
envelope of cash down onto the desk and stormed out of the office and across the garage to her new
car.

I turned around and watched her take the keys from one of the younger mechanics, smile politely at him
before sliding into the driver’s seat. She started the engine and I had to admit that for the car that it was
sounded beautiful, and then she backed out of the building and drove off. I hurried outside just in time to
see her tearing off down the road, and I couldn’t help but smile as she faded into the distance for now.

“Soon,” I said to myself “Soon…
