The Other Sullivan

Comic-Confrontation

Beep. Beep. Beep. The sound of the alarm clock went off. Could it really be five in the morning already? The redhead rolled over and let her hand free from the tangled mess of sheets and blankets to smack the clock. It was a typical day for one miss Jenna Sullivan. A day where she'd be heading to Comic-Con. After a quick shower, she stood in her bathroom, blaring the radio as she curled her hair and sung into the curling iron. The song came to a close and that was when she stopped. A more familiar band started playing through the speakers. Avenged Sevenfold. Jenna quickly turned the station and stared at herself in the mirror. She hadn't brought herself to listen to them anymore. Too much had happened since the death of her big brother. The thoughts of the past were wiped away as she looked at the time and hurried to finish getting herself ready.

This girl was two entirely different people. In person, she was Jenna Sullivan. The funny, nerdy, video gamer who spent way too much time obsessing over Wonder Woman and her much too fat Chihuahua. But to the internet, she was Sully. The sexy, tattoo clad girl gracing the pages of Suicide Girls for men and women across the globe. She never intended to be naked on the internet. It was something that happened one day when a friend from her art program asked if she could take photos of her for her portfolio. One thing led to another, clothes were off, and Jenna decided to join Suicide Girls. For some reason, she became quite popular. She attributed it to her Star Wars tattoos and big boobs. That pretty much covered the interests of all men.

Who was she today? Sully, of course, as she was helping with the Suicide Girls booth at Comic-Con. Jenna loved going to conventions. She always met the most interesting people and today was no different. She greeted fans of Suicide Girls, took pictures and signed their shirts. She even signed a few chests of both guys and girls. She'd just came back from having lunch with one of the fellow SG's when she heard a familiar voice, "Look what the cat dragged in." He said. Jenna whipped around to be standing in front of none other than Brian Haner Jr.

"The cat may have dragged me in but it looks like he barfed you up all over the carpet." She retorted, a smirk growing across her face. She hadn't seen him in ages and when he wrapped his arms around her into a hug, she didn't deny him. Brian had always been like a big brother to her. Even when she was ten years old trying to follow around Jimmy and being told to get lost. "What are you doing here?" She asked curiously, letting go of his embrace.

"Me and Matt are here just walking around and looking at shit," Brian answered, motioning over to where Matt Sanders was standing signing an autograph for a man dressed up as Captain America. Jenna's eyes shifted from Brian to him and tried to mask her emotion. She hadn't seen Matt in a year. Not since everything between them happened. She was no longer on the best of terms with him and that was fine with her. She wanted nothing to do with Matthew Sanders in all honesty. Now he was standing fifteen feet away from her and all she wanted to do was scream at him to leave. Just when it couldn't get any worse, his eyes met hers and she instantly broke the gaze.

"Oh." She finally said after realizing she was supposed to be conversing with Brian. "How have you been? Touring a lot?" It was small talk. Jenna really didn't care what he'd been doing. Her thoughts were concentrated on the guy who screwed her over royally and ruined his own life in the process from what she'd read online.

"Yeah, we got back a little while ago. We're in the studio again. You should stop by and hear some new stuff." Brian explained, smacking her in the arm a bit. "We don't see you anymore. You should stop taking your clothes off for strangers online and start taking them off for us." He joked, a huge grinning plastered across his smug little face.

"Because that's SO appropriate. I'll keep my clothes off for strangers. At least then I don't have to see their reaction to me naked." Jenna shook her head seriously but started laughing. "I'll try to stop by sometime, just let me know when you're there and I'll see what I can do." She nodded. This girl was lying through her teeth. No plans were going to be made to see those boys in the studio. Never again. She wanted them to be like that extended family she only saw once a year.

Matt came sauntering over to greet her as well. He couldn't really avoid her. Not here, not when Brian was already talking to her. He'd look suspicious if he didn't at least say hello. "Hey Jenna," He said with a forced smile. Jenna could read right into that expression of his. What he was really saying was 'Hi Jenna, I'm sorry I ignored you and blamed you for breaking up my marriage.' She simply nodded a greeting back at him. She was not going to give him the satisfaction of her words. "We should get going. Arin wants to meet up with us." He told Brian. But Jenna knew he really just wanted any reason to get far away from her. Far, far away from her Sullivan temper.

"Fine, fine. You're a fucking wet blanket, dude." Brian complained with a shake of his head and gave Jenna a squeeze goodbye, but not without whispering in her ear, "Seriously, let me know when you want to hear new music. There's some songs about Jimmy."

Jenna nodded to him, "I will," She stressed to him and smiled slowly, "See you soon." She waved as the boys turned and began walking away. Standing there, she watched them leave. Really, she watched Matt leave. How many times did she watch him leave before? Countless. Then she noticed something, his head turned over his shoulder to stare at her. It was only a moment but it felt like forever. In all the times he'd walked away from her, how many times did he look back? None. Until now.

Hours later, make-up cleaned off, sweat pants on, Jenna couldn't stop thinking about her run in with Matt. She sat in the middle of the sofa, her computer opened up in her lap. She was about to write a blog entry when there was a knock at her door. Could it really be Matt? Was he seriously knocking on her door at ten o'clock at night? Closing her computer shut, she got up to find out. Her green eye peered through the peephole. Nope, not Matt. But it was her best friend Lucy. A grin crept up on her face as she opened the door. "Hey ladybug!" She exclaimed. "I didn't know you were coming over."

"Have you checked your phone? I sent you like four texts." Lucy laughed loudly, making her way into Jenna's apartment. Lucy was the other half to Jenna. If the girl had been a lesbian, she'd be all over that. The only difference was that Lucy had far more facial piercings. Oh, and jet black hair. Her friend made herself at home as she flopped down on the couch. "How was Comic-Con?" She asked excitedly.

"Oh, I guess I haven't checked it in a while." Jenna stated, her mind had been elsewhere. Shutting the door behind Lucy, she took a seat next to her. Her apartment was quite modest. The living room was relatively small only consisting of a much too big L-shaped sofa, coffee table and tv. Behind the couch was a collage of picture frames featuring friends and family. Many of her brother Jimmy. Jenna had loved him dearly. She was heartbroken when he died. "It was good. I had a lot of fun. And…I ran into Brian…and Matt." She explained, her words flowing much slower from her mouth when she mentioned her brother's friends.

This run-in peaked Lucy's interest. The girl shook her head adamantly. "No. Nuh-uh. You are not going down that road again, you hear me? I don't care if his marriage finally failed. You will waste no more time on fucking Matthew Sanders." Her best friend knew everything that happened between Jenna and Matt. Of course she knew. She needed someone to tell at the time. Now Jenna just regretted telling her everything. She didn't want someone to tell her to stay away from him.

"I know what you're saying, okay? Believe me, I know." Jenna said quietly, pulling her knees to hug her chest. "Seeing him today, I don't know. I guess I just feel like he owes me an explanation or something. You weren't there. You didn't see his face. I haven't seen him in a year. He totally knew I was going to be at Comic-Con today. I'm ALWAYS there for Suicide Girls. He knew he was going to run into me." She tried to reason with herself and give Matt the benefit of the doubt. There were still old feelings that lingered and were never resolved. He hurt her. He hurt her bad. And some part of her still wanted to forgive that dimple faced lunatic. Maybe it was because she'd known him since she was a little girl. She'd known him since before he and his wife started dating. She was at the freaking wedding. And now she was, according to him, the reason they separated.

Lucy's voice started to get very serious, "Listen to me. He doesn't owe you shit because he's a jerk. And you do not need to waste your time on jerks. If he wanted to see you that badly, he would've called you a long time ago. He doesn't care about you. Face it." Jenna's eyes rolled at her friends statement. She let it go. What she didn't need to waste time on was arguing her case to Lucy. Jenna would just have to wait and see what happened.

Once Lucy fell asleep during MTv's Girl Code, Jenna pulled up her blog again and began reading entries of old and starting to write a new one. Her blog was something just for her. A private place where she could get all her thoughts down.

Notes
