No More Lies, No More Pain. [Re-do]

After Austin and I introduced ourselves, Audrey stumbled over to us, already smelling so bad from the alcohol. She wrapped one arm around my shoulder and laughed. “Evey! I am having such an awesome time! I think I have an eye candy to leave with tonight.” She then looked at Austin, who I could tell was trying hard not to laugh. “Well, hello. And who are you?” She asked in a seductive manner.

Austin smiled and extended his hand out to shake. “I’m Austin.”

Audrey shook his hand and stood a little closer to him. “Nice to meet you. I’m Audrey. This may be blunt of me to say, but you’re hot.”

Austin chuckled. “Well thank you.”

He grew a little more nervous as Audrey continued to flirt and get closer to him. I looked around and spotted the guy that Audrey had been dancing with since I came up to the bar. I then tapped on her shoulder. She turned around with a smile at me. “Audrey, I think your date is looking for you.” I then pointed to the guy on the dance floor.

She chuckled. “Oh Evey, you can be such a cock block sometimes.” She then looked back and forth at Austin and me a couple of times. “Oh I see!” She said as she came closer to me. “You scored a good one tonight. I will leave you two alone.” She smiled before taking a couple of steps away from us. She then turned around and winked at us. “Have fun you two.”

Austin sighed in relief but then raised an eyebrow to her ‘have fun’ comment. “What did she mean by that?”

I shook my head. “Don’t worry about it. She’s just a little drunk.”

“Obviously.” He chuckled. “So listen, it’s getting a little crowded in here. Would you like to go out for coffee with me?”

I nodded with a light smile. “I’d love to.”

We then got up from the bar and I signaled Audrey to let her know that I was leaving, and she just gave me two thumbs up and a wink. Austin and I left the club and we took a cab to his suite. It was almost two in the morning and nothing else was open. When we walked up to his suite, I was feeling a bit nervous inside. The last time I went in a suite alone with a rock star, I ended a marriage. But Austin seems so different from Brian, he’s more like the type of guy that wants to be your friend and get to know you first before taking you home and screwing you. Which I feel is what I always wanted from Brian. We may have gotten to know each other as time went on in our relationship, but we never really took the time to just be friends first.

We finally reached the top floor to the hotel he was staying at and made our way into his suite. When he unlocked the door, I hesitated to go in. I felt a little bit of a déjà vu.

“Are you comfortable with coming in? I could take you home if you’d like?” Austin asked a little nervous.

I quickly shook my head and smiled at him. “No, it’s okay. I just, I had a quick flashback that’s all.”

“Would you like to talk about it?”

I hesitated once more, last thing I wanted was to be judged for my past, but I knew that if Austin and I are going to be friends, then he was going to find out sooner or later. Better to hear it from me than anyone else. I nodded. “Yes.”

He smiled and stepped aside. “Ladies first.”

My smile grew as I walked in. Chivalry wasn’t dead after all. “Thank you.”


I made myself comfortable as he made a fresh pot of coffee. We talked about everything. He told me about the band, I told him about my job in Dallas. He talked about his ex-wife, Gielle, and I talked about my first ex-fiancé, Ryan. He talked about how he was bullied in high school and how he lost his mother. I talked about how my parents abandoned my sister and me and how we lost our grandmother.

“So where is your sister now?” He asked.

“Well, she’s living in Huntington Beach right now with her new husband and daughter. I don’t know if she has anymore kids, I haven’t seen or spoken to her since I left California.” I sighed.

“Oh, you lived in California?” He raised an eyebrow.

Crap. The truth was finally coming out. “Yes. I, uh, I developed a relationship with a certain musician from Huntington Beach, and so did my sister. We were originally from San Diego, then my grandmother moved us to Huntington Beach with her, and when she passed, we moved to Dallas so my sister could go to school.”

Austin then looked a little puzzled. And then it dawned to him. “No shit. You’re Synyster Gates’ ex-girlfriend! Aren’t you?”

I sighed and then I nodded. “Well, technically his ex-fiancé. Things didn’t exactly work out.”

“What happened?” He asked before taking another sip of his coffee.

“Well, around the time that my sister and Zacky had their baby, I told Brian that I was pregnant with our first baby. For two weeks, he ignored me. On the last day that I had seen him, I caught him in our bedroom lying on top of his ex-wife, Michelle, on the floor. I ran away from the house and they both ran after me to tell me that I was mistaken. My mind was already racing with bad thoughts and I didn’t want to hear a word from either one of them. I winded up getting physically violent with Michelle, and I ran away from home. I had my baby in a stranger’s home in New Mexico, and about two months after she was born, we left the country and came here.” I sighed as I tried to hold my tears back. I didn’t even want to look at Austin for the moment. “I know I was wrong for leaving and taking my daughter with me, especially to a new country, but I was lost and I didn’t know what else to do. At the time, I didn’t want anyone from the Avenged Sevenfold family to have anything to do with my baby, but I can’t keep her from that forever. Beatrix knows her daddy isn’t around and I know she misses him, even though she’s never met him. I’m just torn between going back and staying here. Am I wrong?” I looked at him as tears started to run down my face.

He sighed. “Well, it’s not really my place to say, but if I was put in the same situation, and if you were mistaken by what you saw, I would be devastated if Gielle was pregnant with my child and ran away from home. And whether or not if he was cheating on you, denying him the right to see his child has to be killing him inside. If I were you, I’d seriously consider going back to Huntington Beach if you want any kind of relationship for your daughter and Brian, as well as closure for yourself.”

I knew he was right. “Yeah. I’m sure that this all suddenly makes me look like the bad person, right?”

He shook his head. “No. From what I can tell by just getting to know you a little, you seem like a beautiful person, who happens to make some misguided choices from time to time.” He smiled. “Listen, I’m going back home to Huntington Beach in a week. You and Beatrix should come with me.”

My heart suddenly began to race, and my palms grew sweaty. “I- I don’t know. I wouldn’t want to put you through paying for extra stuff.”

“It’s no trouble for me at all. I’m a good friend of Brian’s, and I know this is what he would want. Just consider going with me.”

I paused deep in thought for a moment. What would Brian think if I go back, and with Austin of all people?

“I will think about it.” I replied with a small smile.

I know it's a little short, but I have limited time to write for now. I am going to work on the next chapter and hopefully have it posted either tonight or tomorrow. I promise to add in the Avenged Sevenfold members soon. I also did this chapter with Austin to celebrate the new OM&M album coming out today. Love you DeathBats! <3
