Chapter 12
Emilia's POV
I woke up in my bed with the sun shining through the window. It's been a couple of days since Brian and I's date. Or was it just yesterday? Eh I can't seem to even bother with the days anymore. He and I were talking most of the time during those couple of days even when I was at work.
Today's the day she and I are going to hang out finally. Hanging out and getting to know Brian as well as Renae getting to know Zacky is awesome for us but this is a much needed girl time.
Renae had came home last night after she hung out with Zacky at his place. I must say, she looked extremely happy. Wonder what happened between those two. I shuddered at the thought and shook my head. No need to think of that.
The date...well dinner. Oh man what a wonderful thing it was. A nice little dinner next to the beach and walking around at night staring at the moon. I'd do it all over again in a heart beat.
I slowly sat up and stretched. I noticed I was still in my purple dress that I wore to the date last night. I stripped it off along with my jewelry and walked into the bathroom.
Turning on the shower, I waited until the water got warmer then stepped in. I stood in there washing my body while thinking of Brian. I know he told me that he went through the divorce but at the same time it almost felt like I may have been the cause of him going ahead with it.
But at the same time, he has told me she treated him like crap. I just need to suck it up and go forward with what I'm feeling. I gotta tell him how I feel.
I turned off the water and got out drying myself with the towel. I made my way to my room when I heard my phone make a noise. I took it off the night stand and looked. There was a new text message. I opened it up and saw that it was from Brian.
'Hey I was wondering if you want to come to the barbecue next Saturday? It'll be at Matt's house around 3pm.' - Brian
Sweet a barbecue! Which means now I have to fit an outfit to wear. Good thing Renae and I are going shopping in a bit. I replied back.
'I'd love to.' - Emi
'Awesome possum! I'll pick you up at 2:30pm. ;)' - Brian
I smiled and replied with a happy face before putting my phone into my purse. I went into my closet and rummaged through it until I decided to go with a blue t-shirt and black shorts. I put my hair up in a ponytail, added a little eyeliner and lip gloss, then put my gray flip flops on. I walked downstairs and went to get a cup of coffee.
Renae was already in the kitchen with a bagel in one hand and a cup of coffee in the other sitting at the table. She was wearing a red tank top and black crop pants with the same kind of gray flip flops I had on. See? We're like twins lol. She noticed me as I walked into the kitchen over to the coffee maker.
“Good morning future Mrs. Haner/Gates!” She smirked. I rolled my eyes as I poured myself a cup. I sat down at the table across from her. “Well good morning to you too...soon to be Mrs. Baker/Vengeance!” I laughed.
She laughed as well and shook her head. “Is it that obvious?” I nodded, taking a sip of my coffee. “At the pace you two are moving at, yes yes it is.” She arched her eyebrow at me.
“We're not moving THAT fast. And he has yet to ask me to be his girlfriend.” She shrugged while taking a bite of her bagel. I sat there thinking for a minute.
“Well Brian has yet to ask me to be his girlfriend. But I'm in no rush. And not to mention he just got out of a married.” She nodded, giving me a sad smile. We sat in silence for a moment. She was finishing up her bagel and coffee while I was finishing up my coffee as well.
We both walked over to the sink and put the cups into it. “So how was the beach date? I bet it was waaay better than Zacky taking me to a fancy restaurant.” She grinned. I giggled and winked.
“It was amazing. We had dinner, walked around the beach, got to know each other, and stared at the moon.” Renae walked out of the kitchen. I followed behind her towards the living room.
She turned and pretended to faint dramatically onto the couch. “Oh how romantic! Well Zacky took me to a very nice Italian restaurant. We also got to know each other...and I got a little drunk. But anyway, he took me to his place since I wasn't able to make it up the stairs to the apartment. It was nice laying on the bed. We even cuddled...” She said that last part in a whisper.
My ears perked up. She thought she could get away with it but boy did I hear it clearly. “What was that? Did you just say that you two cuddled? Oh that is so cute!” I gushed out. Renae was blushing like crazy and looked away.
I giggled then grinned to myself. I totally got her now. “Yeah yeah laugh it up. Sooner or later, it will be you and Brian doing the cuddling. Zacky and I by then will be bed rocking.”
My eyes went wide and I tried to mentally erase that image of her and Zacky would be doing who knows what in bed. “Keep your dirty thoughts to yourself young lady!” I pretended to look angry and waved my finger at her.
She giggled a little but pretended to pout. “Aww I'm sorry mum! Ha ha. Oh I got a text from Zacky saying there's a barbecue going on at Matt's next Saturday. I'm guessing Brian sent you one too?” I nodded.
“Yeah he did. Well good thing we're going shopping, time to get some awesome outfits to wear!” I smiled. I walked over to the counter, leaving the living room to get my keys when I noticed a small box on the table. “Hey Ren, what's this?” I moved my head referring to the box.
She looked at what I was talking about and froze. “That's from Ben. He wanted Arin to give it to me but Arin refused. So he decided to hurt Arin.” She said quietly.
What was this douche bag trying to do? He left her heart broken by cheating on her and now it seems like he's wanting to get back into her life. “Do you know why he wanted to give it to you?” I asked.
She slowly nodded. “He's wanting us to get back together. I'm not going back to that cheating bastard though.” She closed her eyes. I took the box from the counter. “Is it okay if I opened it.” She slowly looked up and shrugged. I took that as a 'I don't care' and opened the box. Inside laid a necklace with a heart that says 'Always Mine.'
I raised my eyebrow and looked at Renae. “Hey Ren, didn't you tell me a long time ago when we started hanging out more after we met that you had lost a necklace?” She thought about it and nodded.
“Yeah why?” She walked over to me and looked inside the box. A gasp escaped her mouth as she took the necklace out of the box, holding it in her hand.
“This was the necklace Ben gave me when we first started dating. I thought I lost it.” I watched her as she was having a bit of a flashback in her head.
She put the necklace back into the box and walked over to where her purse was sitting near the door. She picked it up and sighed. “Well let's head out. Shopping is therapeutic and I like being in bliss.” I watched her as she opened the door heading outside.
I laughed and followed behind her, locking the door. I headed down the stairs and to my car. I unlocked the doors and we both got in.
It was a 5 minute drive to the mall. Apparently it was packed because from what it looked like, there was an autograph signing going on at Hot Topic. I looked closely at who was the famous bands that were doing it.
“Wow it seems Avenged Sevenfold are here...along with Breaking Benjamin wtf!” My eyes went wide. She stood there and didn't say anything but shrugged. We decided to avoid Hot Topic for now and go to the other stores like Forever 21 and Wet Seal.
It was funny since we had just seen Zacky and Brian 2 days ago. Well Renae saw Zacky during those 2 days where as I had stuff to do and wanted to give Brian his space. Renae and I decided that we should divide and conquer then meet up in front of a cafe that just opened in the mall.
I was in the Charlotte Russe store looking at some shirts when a voice caught my attention. “Val I can't believe that idiot would divorce me! I mean who would divorce this hot body and beautiful sexy face?”
I looked in the corner of my eye and noticed it was Michelle. I knew what she looked like from pictures I've seen on the internet and well, she's Valary's twin.
Val shook her head. “Just let it go. What's done is done. Stopping talking about it already.” Michelle's face was a light shade of red. I knew she was still fuming over the divorce and she didn't like it.
I slowly pulled away from looking at the tops and quickly made my way out of the store. I didn't want to sit there listening to her vent. I have yet to meet Val but knew I was going to meet her anyway at the barbecue.
I walked around a little more then decided to send Renae a text.
'Ren, going to walk around for a bit then head to the new cafe. See ya then'.- Emi
'Okay see ya.' - Ren
There was a music store that sold instruments near me so I went over to it and walked inside. As I looked around, I saw a familiar face. He noticed me looking around and walked over. “Hey Emi, nice seeing you here.” He chuckled. I shrugged then smiled.
“Yeah. Needed to get out of the house for a while and decided to go to the mall.” Arin had drumsticks in his hands and was using them to hit against a drum.
“That's cool. I'm guessing Ren's here too?” I nodded.
“I noticed you guys are doing an autograph signing along side Breaking Benjamin.” He stood the quiet and nodded. His face was slowly forming into an angry look. “I didn't want this to happen but the guys agreed that we should do it. Gotta do it for the fans.” He sighed.
When Renae told me what happened between him and Ben, I felt bad for him. All he was doing was protecting her yet he got hurt for it.
I walked over to him and gave him a quick hug. “Well it was nice seeing you again. I'm about to head to that new cafe and meet up with Ren. You should come join us if you want.” His face changed from that angry look to a happy one.
“Sure. I miss hanging out with her.” He said and I nodded. We both walked out of the store heading to the cafe.
“Thank goodness I'm on a lunch break. I love hanging with the guys but man I need some space away from the craziness.” He laughed. I joined in laughing also.
Now I'm wondering if Renae bumped into Ben again. Oh man I hope not. This isn't going to be good. I hope and pray Zacky will get to her first.
