Sweet As Candy

I went the whole weekend without talking to Zack so now I was getting ready for work, I worked as a movie directors assistant and I really liked it, the director I worked for was amazing and extremely nice, he wasn’t one of those people that just made me get him coffee then blow me off. He asked my opinions on scenes and took them into consideration but anyway,

I dressed in a black and white striped crop top and high wasted skirt then I slipped on black flats, grabbed my bag and phone and headed to the kitchen to grab my fruit salad for lunch. I got in my car then headed over to the set, I put my lunch in the fridge and put my purse in my locker, I headed over to the food table and grabbed a water for me and the director then walked over to him as I clipped my walkie talkie onto my skirt ‘morning Candy’ ‘morning, how’s everything going?’ ‘Good, we should be finishing up today’ ‘ok great, did you need anything?’ I asked as I handed him the water ‘no thanks, hey are you ok? You look a little down’

‘Yeah I’ll be ok, just guy trouble’ ‘oh, did you wanna talk about it?’ ‘Not really’ I said and he looked relived which made me laugh a little ‘alright, let’s get to filming!’ he yelled, I laughed again then paid attention to what was going on and the day went really good actually, we didn’t have any problems but we spent all day there,

I didn’t get home until about eleven ‘god I'm tired’ I said to myself but before I could go upstairs there was a knock on my door which made me sigh and walk back over to open it ‘do you know what time it is? I just got home’ I told Zack as I leaned on the door a little

‘I'm sorry, I just, don’t want you to be mad at me anymore’ he whispered, I nodded then opened the door more and walked away ‘come on, I'm tired’ I said as I walked to the steps, I heard him close and lock the door then follow me.

I changed into a tank top and shorts without my bra then I started taking off my makeup, as I was doing that Zack set his hands on my waist ‘I've missed you, and I thought about what you said’ ‘you did?’ I asked as I turned around, he nodded a little then started biting his lip, which meant he was nervous ‘you're not leaving her are you?’ I asked then waited

::Zack’s POV::

‘um, April’s pregnant’ I said softly and the look on her face was just complete devastation ‘oh, um, I – I'm happy for you, you should go home and be with her’ she said as she walked away from me and out of her room ‘Candy please’ I said as I followed her downstairs, she just shook her head and opened the front door ‘please go’ she whispered, I sighed and walked towards the door but I turned and kissed her cheek

‘I love you’ I whispered then headed out and over to my car. When I got in she shut the door and I watched the lights turn out so I sighed again then went home ‘I'm home’ I called out and April came over and kissed me, I kissed back then rubbed her belly a little ‘come on, let’s go to bed’ she said, I nodded then headed up with her.

The next morning when I woke up, I looked over and was disappointed that I didn’t see Candy but I got up and went on with my day as usual ‘Zack, I'm going to my mothers, I’ll be back later’ April said, I just nodded as I watched tv in the living room ‘bye’ she smiled then kissed me, I kissed back and watched her walk out of the house.

‘Finally’ I said as I got up and grabbed the Jack from the top cabinet, I grabbed myself a glass and a coke then made a drink with some ice. I went back into the living room with the bottle and just watched tv as I drank, ‘I'm leaving for a few’ I texted April, she said ok then I waited and stayed home to see if she would bring anyone with her.

I had a suspicion that she was cheating on me be I wanted to know for sure and the only reason I was thinking this was because with how far along she was, we hadn’t had sex around the time she got pregnant. Anyway, I heard April come home but I heard two car doors close ‘Come on, my boyfriend’s not home’ I heard her say as I looked back behind the couch, they walked into the living room and stopped dead in their tracks

‘Zack, uh, I uh’ ‘I fucking knew it! Are you even pregnant?’ ‘Um, no’ ‘get the fuck outta my house, were done’ I said darkly, she nodded knowing that she fucked up and her little boyfriend helped her pack and move out. I made a few more drinks then got in my car and very slowly drove over to Candy’s house. When I got there I knocked on the door and leaned on it drunkly.

::Candy’s POV::

I was cleaning my house right now, just dressed in a sports bra and work out shorts, I was cleaning the kitchen when there was a knock on the door so I went over and opened it to see Zack ‘oh my god, are you drunk?’ I asked as I grabbed him and helped him inside ‘she lied to me! And she cheated on me, she’s not even pregnant’ he sobbed as I set him on the couch, I sighed and just held him tight as he cried on my chest

‘I'm sorry baby’ I whispered as I stroked his hair, he took a few deep breaths and calmed down then looked at me. I smiled and wiped his tears then kissed his nose ‘now, why don’t you go lay in my bed and take a nap or something, you're very drunk and its only 2pm’ I said and he nodded so I helped him upstairs then laid him on my bed. I took off his shoes and socks then tucked him in ‘I’ll be downstairs’ I said as I kissed his cheek, he nodded then closed his eyes and passed out quickly.

I shook my head and went back downstairs to finish cleaning and I did by 5 then I started making dinner for Zack and I ‘That smells good’ I heard and I turned to see Zack walking into the kitchen ‘yeah?’ I asked and he nodded then wrapped his arms around my waist and rested his head on my shoulder ‘how are you feeling?’ ‘Better, a little headache but its ok’ he said and I nodded then finished up the food and put everything together.

We walked into the living room and put the tv on then started eating quietly, once we were finished I put everything in the dishwasher and turned it on then went back over to Zack with some water ‘thanks’ ‘you're welcome, so, tell me what happened’ I said and he nodded then looked down into his glass

‘Well, she said that she was going to her mothers and I started drinking because I just couldn’t stand you being mad and upset with me. Anyway, I texted her and said that I would be leaving for a few then waited, I thought she was cheating because we didn’t have sex around the time she got pregnant but anyway, I waited and when she got home she was with a guy and they were about to go have sex. I called her on cheating and she said that she wasn’t pregnant so I told her to get out and she did without argument,

I had a few more drinks then drove over here’ he said and I nodded ‘well, you should have called me to come get you, I don’t want you drinking and driving’ I said, he nodded sadly which made me bite my lip ‘come on’ I said as I pulled him upstairs and into my room, I crawled on the bed and opened my arms for him, he crawled into them and rested his head on my chest. I turned on the tv and found that syfy was having a lord of the rings marathon so that’s what we watched as I held him.

It was almost 9:30 and half way through the second movie before Zack finally said something ‘Candy?’ ‘Yeah baby?’ ‘I'm really sorry I chose her over you’ he said, I looked down at him and ran my hand over the scruff on his cheek ‘don’t worry about it’ ‘but-‘ ‘shhh, let’s just enjoy this’ I said and he nodded then went back to watching the movie. After it was finished I got up and stretched ‘I'm gonna shower and get dressed for bed’ I said as I pulled a tank top and shorts out of my closet ‘you can sleep in the guest room’ I said as I walked into the bathroom and shut the door.

I felt bad about making him sleep in the guest room but I just wasn’t ready to be all lovey with him again. I mean, he picked her over me and I'm not meaning to sound like I'm full of myself or anything but, I love him and it broke my heart so, if I have to break his a little then maybe he’ll get the point. When I walked back into my room after my shower Zack wasn’t in there but I did hear the tv in the guest room on so I sighed, crawled into bed and went to sleep.
