Brian’s POV

I just saw the shocked face from Sam and had to do something, how could I not, I just saw some guy grabbing her from behind?!
She told me she didn’t have a boyfriend, so why would anyone touch her like that?!
I pushed the guy away, he looked younger than me, however old I was and he looked confused between me and Sam back and forth, before making an angry step towards me.
I pulled Sam behind me and met him head’s on…
“Brian, that’s okay… Ethan, don’t.” Sam pushed herself between us and I narrowed my eyes on her.
“What’s okay? Who is that?” I looked back at the guy and he frowned at Sam.
Sam pushed against my chest, and I let her win, so I made a step back.
“Please don’t make a scene here, let me explain. Alright?” Sam motioned the guy back and he nodded following her movements.

“Who is that? And what is he doing here, Sam?” He asked and his eyes narrowed on me again.
“Okay, listen.. Everyone calm down. Brian this is Ethan, my colleague. Ethan this is, Brian.. my..” Sam stopped and I cut “her boyfriend.”
“Yes, my boyfriend…” Sam confirmed and Ethan’s eyes widened for a second than returned to Sam still in disbelief.
“Boyfriend? You never said anything about a boyfriend… Is that why… you never… when I asked… why haven’t you…” He stopped and I lifted my eyebrow… so he was hot for her, that’s what this was about?
Hasn’t Sam not notice that?
“Well, we were having a long distance relationship, we didn’t really know if it was working out, now Brian came to visit me, and we need to see if this works…” Sam explained and I saw her cheeks turning a little pink, I smiled at the sight, she couldn’t really lie could she?!
“Wow, I didn’t know… I mean… Shit, sorry… I guess.” Ethan made a step towards me and held his hand out.
“Sorry, I’m Ethan.” He shook my hand and I nodded “Brian, don’t worry.”
“Well, and why did you bring him to work?” Ethan looked a little uncomfortable and sat on the desk opposite of Sam.

“I don’t know where else to go, I’m new to this state… and I wanted to get to know every little fact about Sam, you know… as much as I can…” I smiled at her and the pink in her cheeks intensified.
“Yes, and I only have one key and car, and Brian can’t drive, so I thought he could join us… for now.
I planned on doing some work at home during the next day’s anyway. Just if there are important meeting, I’ll be here. But I will discuss that with Mr. Dessman myself later on, this week shouldn’t be a problem, since he isn’t here right?” Sam asked and Ethan nodded reluctantly.
So that was her plan, working at home, good idea…

After everything was settled for now, Sam made a lot of phone calls and I read magazine after magazine, newspaper after newspaper until she finally announced we could go home.
She didn’t even have a break yet and I watched the Ethan guy always having an eye on her, something was up with him, I just didn’t know what.
I bet he was jealous that Sam showed up with a guy, when he was working to get in her pants for a while.
And as I got to know Sam now, she didn’t even know that guy wanted something from her, poor guy, lost in the friendzone.

“Okay, let’s go… Later tonight Selena and Trevor are coming over, we need to prepare some dinner and well get everything set up.” Sam turned towards me and I nodded.
“That’s fine, babe. Can’t wait to meet you friends.” I smiled and saw Ethan behind his desk mimic my words.
I chuckled lightly when he saw that I saw him and he ducked under his screen, “Will you come by tomorrow, Sam?” He asked finally and Sam turned around.
“No, if you are okay with it, I would stay home tomorrow, the day after I got some meetings, then I’m coming in again. I’ll just take my laptop and everything with me, will forward the call’s to my cell. If you got anything, just call me, alright?” Sam walked over to him and Ethan nodded.
“Alright, I guess, I can do a day without you..” He gave her a smile and I lifted my eyebrow, how could she not notice that?
“Thanks Ethan, you are the best” She hugged him quickly and then finally we walked out of the building.

The drive home, was quiet… We were both lost in our thoughts but I had to admit I felt pretty good with how the day went, Ethan seemed to buy the boyfriend story and that way we knew we made the right choice.
“What do you wanna cook and when are they coming over?” I asked finally into the silence of the car and Sam sighed.
“They are coming over in about 2 hours, so we need to hurry. I thought about some Spaghetti Carbonara, that’s not taking too long, and we don’t have to prepare too much. Selena loves Spaghetti.” Sam said with a smile and I got my heart painfully squeezed in my chest, hearing her talk about her best friend like that, another moment were I felt, something important I had forgot from my normal life.
“And what else is weighing on you?” I asked because I could hear in her voice that something else was wrong,too.
“Well… I hate to lie.. and lying to Ethan was really, really hard for me. I feel so bad about that.” Sam said finally another sigh escaping her.
“Don’t worry, after a month everything is over…” I told her and felt really bad after saying this, but why?
I knew that was exactly what always happened, it wasn’t like this was the first time…

Sam parked the car in front of her house and she looked out of her window, before even opening her door.
“What’s wrong?” I asked her and she motioned with her head to the house next door. I looked a little closer and saw a guy standing there, looking at the car and I frowned but didn’t really think much about it.
“Your neighbor?” I asked and Sam nodded “Yeah, he kind of gives me the chills, something is up with him.” Sam admitted and I took a closer look.
“Should I talk to him or something? Make him aware you are not alone?” I asked but Sam shook her head.
“No, he will see us walking in together and you not leaving, he will think his part…” Sam added.
That made me frown even more, why would he… oh she thought he kept watching the house… well that does sound like a freak.
Maybe I should talk to him at some point, I could at least give Sam a little something back for being this nice to me…
“Come on, we need to hurry, we got a lot to do..” She opened her car door and walked quickly towards the door while I took my time looking at the guy, but his eyes were only following Sam.
“Hey Sam, how was work?” He yelled but she just opened the door and went inside, then his eyes turned towards me and he quickly looked away, trying to ignore me I guess.

About an hour later Sam and I were preparing the dinner and I tried to help her as best as I could, but guess what? I wasn’t an expert in the kitchen as it seemed.
I let things fall to the floor, filled too much water in the bucket, I let one eye drop when I got them out of the fridge, I cut the meat into too big pieces and Sam, corrected everything with a laugh and a smile on her face.

So I could say I wasn’t a chief in my former life… rather something completely different.
I had egg and milk and all different kind of ingredients all over me and so did Sam, but that wasn’t really her fault, rather mine, I wouldn’t admit that later on… but for now I would, only to myself.
“Okay, now the Spaghetti just need to get ready, then we gotta heat up the sauce again just before they arrive, and we are done.” Sam announced satisfied and turned towards me with one of the most gorgeous smiles I have ever seen in my life.

Maybe just that, but also maybe the long time I haven’t been with anyone, or maybe it really was just her that made me take a step forward and corner her against the fridge.
She looked up to me and damn, I couldn’t help myself, I put my hands flat against the fridge, bringing us nose to nose, breathing each other in.
I liked my lips and Sam mimicked my motion, soon the air around us was filled with electricity only waiting to spark over.
“Don’t say no.” I whispered and then crashed my lips down on hers. She didn’t reply, but I also didn’t even give her the chance to.
I licked her bottom lip, so she would grant me entrance, I sucked on her tongue, as soon as she entered my mouth, I caressed, I played and I felt like I could do this forever.
I let my arms fall from the fridge and grabbed Sam’s waist, lifted her up, while never interrupting our kiss.
I brought her over to the couch and laid her softly down on it, she grabbed the hem of my shirt and just for the necessary amount of time I let go of her mouth, as soon as the shirt flew to the floor, I attacked her again.

Her hands were roaming over my shoulder, and chest, slowly wandering down and I moaned at her soft and small fingers everywhere.
I pulled away and grabbed her shirt, let it fall to the floor and then unhooked her bra. I had to have her as soon as I could, as fast as I could.
I couldn’t and wouldn’t accept a no from her now, I just couldn’t…
