I Wish I Could be the One

I had one of the largest bedrooms in the girls dorms. Mostly because my roommate may as well not even be living there considering she was never around. I blame the guys on that one though. They were always in my room literally everyday despite the no boys after hours rule. The staff never checked on us or anyone they "put there trust in us to make sound and responsible decisions" according to the student handbook. Basically they didn't give a shit unless something bad actually happened. Johnny took my keys out of my school blazer pocket and unlocked the door. Jimmy walked over to my bed and threw me over his shoulder onto the mattress, I ended up hitting my head against the wall.
"Ow Jimmy that actually hurt" I said as I rubbed the back of my head
"K O This Kat is out!! Jimmy the magnificent wins the match!!" He yelled as he jumped on my bed to lay next to me.
This was how coming to my room usually went Jimmy would lay on my bed and chill out sometimes nap, sometimes I would join him or just lay there next to him and do homework. Jimmy had never really tried to make a move on me, we just were really good friends and I always felt 100% comfortable with him and him with me. A couple times we made out but mostly because we were drunk or high and it was all good fun, no feelings. Johnny would usually spin in my desk chair rolling a blunt or packing a bowl and he'd hit it first and then pass to Jimmy and then me.
"So kitty Kat, who is your new boyfriend? Or are you still with Austin the toolbag?" Johnny said to me cooly as he spun.
I took my head off Jimmys shoulder and put down the tablet I was showing a video to him on.
"When did you become so observant on my love life little Johnny boy?"
"I'm not I'm just making conversation, when did you start to be so private with your love life?" He gently snapped back.
I didn't really have a response to this because it was true ever since I started developing feelings for Brian and Johnny I started talking less and less to them about guys. I rolled my eyes at him and found a place for me to rest my head somewhere on Jimmys chest, and put my arm around his waist just to annoy Johnny. He clearly he was trying to get something out of me all day.
"I'm going to take a nap" I said bluntly while maintaining a deadlock stare with Johnny. Jimmy put his arm around me and said "sleep away my little kit Kat"
Johnny just stared at me and kept spinning.
I actually ended up taking a nap with Jimmy and when I woke up it was three hours later and Johnny was gone. I nudged Jimmy awake.
"Jimmy can I ask you something?"
"Ya Kat what's up?" He said through a stretch of his arm he didn't have around me and a yawn.
"Did you think Johnny was acting weird towards me earlier?"
"Well I mean kind of but I just kind of thought it was because he has a thing for you or you guys hooked up or something"
"Wait Johnny has a thing for me?"
Until now I always thought my crush on Johnny was completely one sided and then Jimmy tells me this. What if Johnny was talking to Brian about me? Is that what he meant about telling Brian earlier? What the hell did that even mean and where did it even come from. Johnnys behavior had been out of left field today. I'm pretty sure Johnny knows I have a thing for Brian, but maybe he doesn't know I have a thing for him to...why does this have to be so complicated?!
Johnny and I had only hooked up once last year a while after I got here and we were so drunk it was never mentioned again. Zacky didn't even know about it. I almost lost my virginity to him that night, but I kind of thought he just was too drunk to remember. Maybe I wasn't the only one who stayed up late thinking about that night..
"Don't worry kit Kat I told him to back down a bit since you were dating Austin and all which probably meant you didn't like him like that. Well that and I didn't want zack to kill him, I kind of still like having Johnny the gnome around" I think Jimmy said this in response to what I guess looked like worry on my face.
I got off the bed opened my wardrobe door so Jimmy couldn't see me (not that he ever cared) and took off my plaid uniform skirt and pulled on some leggings.
"I told Johnny just to stop waiting for you and get a girl already" Jimmy added as I was changing.
How could Jimmy be so nonchalant about this. I quickly realized it was obviously because they still thought I was with Austin, they had no idea I liked Johnny or Brian. But Jimmy had just to revealed to me why Johnny had never had a girlfriend for more than a few weeks and I wasn't sure how to feel about it. I decided to continue in the "dating Austin" roll, so I chose to ignore Jimmy. I had already thrown my blazer on the floor earlier so I took off my white button up and pulled a maroon v neck over my cami.
I closed the wardrobe door and went to the bed. I grabbed Jimmys hand and pulled "come on Jimmy bean lets go get drunk or something it's Friday!" I tried my best to pretend the conversation about Johnny hadn't happened so that Jimmy wouldn't read to much into the way was acting. I really did want to drink just to stop overthinking everything. I was glad to know I had Jimmys shoulder to lean on whether he knew it or not.
