The ride to Brian’s house was pretty quiet, considering I was too tired and shocked to talk. My head was rested against the car door as my hair brushed against the cold window as Zacky drove down the road that led to Brian’s house. I was tired, but I couldn’t sleep. Jaed’s words rang in my ears as every second ticked by. I kept on thinking about how in the ever loving hell would I be able to juggle normal teenage worries, and the fact I had about four Supernatural species trying to find me. To breed me, or use me as a weapon, or, I was pretty sure that if I didn’t agree to do whatever they wanted me to do, they would kill me. None of those options sounded very pleasant.

“Del, we’re here.” Zacky whispered, but he didn’t need to, seeing I was already awake. He reached over and gently shook my arm, his fingers snaking down to grip my hand. He squeezed it in reassurance, and a small smile played across my lips.

“Do you need help walking?” He asked.

I nodded, pretty sure I would need Zacky’s help with getting on Brian’s front porch.

Once Zacky and I were both on the front porch that led into Brian’s house, Zacky loudly knocked on the door, causing me to wince slightly at the sound. We waited there for a few moments, I guess even Brian has to sleep sometime. The silence grew between Zacky and me even more, thanks to me being so unbelievably tired and it being awkward considering my life had just been turned upside down and spun around in eighty different directions.

Brian’s front door opened and there he stood. He was clad in his boxers and his hair was sticking up in a million different directions. He looked like how I felt.

“Dude, what the fuck?” He mumbled, “do you know how late it is? What the fuck is going on? Why haven't you talked to Matt?” Apparently Brian didn’t realize that I was standing right beside Zacky. I coughed a bit, and got his attention. A confused look appeared on Brian’s face as he looked from me to Zacky. “What’s going on?”

“Bri, I know this is going to be a weird question, but could Del stay with you for a while?” Zacky asked. I could hear the sleep in his voice as well, but other than that he was trying to be as serious as he possibly could.

Brian’s eyes widened as his brows furrowed, looking from Zacky to me and back again. I could tell he wasn’t sure what to make of this whole predicament. He paused for a moment as he stared at Zacky, and something told me they were reading each other’s minds. The realization hit me like a ton of bricks. Zacky was a Werewolf, all of the guys went to school for Werewolves. They were a pack. That’s why they spent so much time together.
“Yeah, I guess she can stay here. I've been getting pretty lonely lately.” He said, winking at me, my cheeks turned a bright shade of scarlet.

“She’s sleeping in the guest room.” Zacky growled, taking a tighter grip around my waist. I was shocked by how serious Zacky sounded. I looked up at him to see that his teeth were clenched.

Brian was shocked, too, and he shook his head side to side. “I was just kidding, man.” he said, holding his hands up in mock defense, causing me to smile. I think Brian realized that he shouldn’t make those types of jokes about me when Zacky was around. I had a feeling that Zacky was going to be very protective of me from now on.

“I-I know man, I know,” Zacky said, running a hand through his hair. The exhaustion was taking a toll on him. Both Brian and I could see it.

“It’s fine, I understand,” Brian said. He looked at me, and smiled. “Well, guess we’re roomies now, huh?” he chuckled, gesturing me to come into his house.

I walked in with Zacky behind me. He had let go of my waist as we made our way through Brian’s familiar living room and off into a hallway that I had not been through before, and I guessed this led to the other rooms. There were three doors in the hallway—two on each side, one in the middle at the dead end.

“Sorry but there’s only one bathroom,” Brian said over his shoulder as he opened the door on the right side of the hallway. “Hope you don’t mind sharing with me.” he smirked, causing me to roll my eyes. Everything he said had a perverted undertone to it. I knew I’d have to get used to it, seeing we’d be living together now. Brian gestured me to go through the door, and I did as I was told and found myself in a small bedroom. This one didn’t have many decorations, I could tell no one had really been in this room, and it only had the essentials, which consisted of a TV, bed, chair, and dresser. It was a normal beige colored room, which was going to now be the place of where I would find peace and sanctity as I was separated from the rest of the world.

“I’m staying here tonight, if that’s okay,” Zacky said, looking at me and then to Brian. Brian nodded his head, as if to say ‘you know you can’ to Zacky.

“Are you not going to school tomorrow?” I asked him, giving him a confused look.

“We're taking you shopping for clothes, and stuff.” Zacky blushed at the word “stuff”. I knew what “stuff” Zacky was talking about, and I smiled slightly at how embarrassed he was talking about getting me the essential things only a woman would have.

“Whoo, we're going to the mall!” Brian sang as he looked at me. I smiled and shook my head at his actions, and then I felt another wave of sleep crash against me. I yawned, and Brian smiled. “Guess you should go to sleep, huh Ellie?” he said, walking over to me. I wasn’t so sure of what he was doing until I felt his arms wrap around my shoulder blades in a hug.

I smiled, gently placing my arms around his middle. It felt good to know someone else besides Zacky cared for my well being. I felt Brian’s lips press against the top of my head, which only made my smile widen.

“Sweet dreams.” Brian smiled as he pulled away from me. I said goodnight to him, and he walked out of my new room and through the door that was on the dead end part of the hallway. I guessed that was his room.

I looked at Zacky and smiled, despite how tired I was. “We should get some sleep,” Zacky mumbled. I nodded in agreement, sitting down on my new bed. I scooted up to where the pillows where and laid my head down, the exhaustion of sleep weighing down against my entire body. I didn’t even care that I was going to sleep in jeans and a bra.

I watched as Zacky began to make his way over to the chair, and I gave him a confused look. “What are you doing?” I asked in a sleep-laden voice.

“Watching over you.” Zacky answered, but I knew that wasn’t it. He didn’t have to tell me the truth, I could see it in his eyes. What his brother had said about Gena was weighing him down, along with everything else that had happened in the past 24 hours. He had made up his mind. He was going to protect me with everything he had, but he wasn’t going to love me. Zacky sat down on the chair, and just by the way he was sitting I knew he was going to be uncomfortable for what little night we had left.

A wave of sadness crept over me as I pulled the blankets to my chin. I had so many questions to ask, and so many thoughts I wanted to say aloud. I wanted Zacky pressed up against me, to feel the beat of his heart against my back. I wanted to forget everything that had happened. I knew I needed to give my body a rest. Who know one night could change everything? My father was some Angel-Demon-Vampire Hybrid, my mother was some hussy named Jael who couldn’t keep her legs closed, I was one of the most wanted Hybrids in the entire world and the one person I wanted to walk through this hell with wouldn’t even consider holding me for a night.

I didn’t like this at all.

“BriBri, can you give me a piggyback ride?” Michelle, Brian’s girlfriend asked as we walked through the entrance of the mall on a Tuesday afternoon, when normally we would have been in school.

Brian groaned, but he bent his knees a bit, causing Michelle to smile excitedly and place her hands on Brian’s shoulders, jumping on his back. “Thank you, hunny.” She said in a baby voice, causing Brian to roll his eyes.

Zacky did the same as we walked through the mall, passing shops. It was just the four of us. Normally, I would have shopped alone, but Brian had insisted on Michelle coming to help me pick out clothes, and Zacky had insisted on the both of them being there for bodyguard duty. I felt the money Jaed had given Zacky to give to me in my back jeans’ pocket. It was more money than I had ever seen in my life. I was amazed at how much money Jaed had, but Zacky did tell me she was filthy rich. I looked through all of the stores, not sure of which one we were actually going to shop in as I followed Michelle and Brian.

“Would it bother you if I was there with you every night?” Zacky asked randomly as we continued to walk through the mall.

His question caught me off guard, but I knew what he was trying to say. “No, it wouldn’t,” I answered, shaking my head. “I understand you have to protect me.”

“How do you know it’s not because I want to be with you?” Zacky asked quietly, where I was the only one who heard. My heart did a thousand flips at what that sentence could possibly mean. “To tell the truth, I feel like I have to be around you.” he said. I could hear the embarrassment in his voice.

I looked at Zacky to see him looking at the ground as he walked on it. I began to realize that every time he was looking away from me, it was because he didn’t want me to see him blushing. His hair may have covered some of his face, but I could still see the red forming upon his pale cheeks.

I noticed Brian and Michelle walking into a store, but I didn’t follow them. I stopped dead in my tracks, giving Zacky a look of disbelief at what he said. He stopped walking as well, and I could tell he was waiting for my response. “You actually l-like being w-with me?” I asked, very proud of myself that I didn’t stutter as much as I normally did.

Zacky continued to look down, digging the sole of his shoe into the ground as he shoved his hands into his pockets. He nodded, and my heart flipped. “I like being with you, Delilah, you know that.” He admitted.

I felt myself grinning as we walked into Urban Outfitters, where Brian and Michelle had gone. I spotted Michelle towards the back, holding up a pair of jeans to her waist. She looked up and saw me and motioned for me to come towards her.

“Delilah, what size are you?” She asked, placing the jeans back on the rack and looking through the other pairs.

“I think I'm a size two,” I muttered, not really sure.

Before I could even begin to form another thought, Michelle had three pairs of jeans in her arms and was dragging me to the dressing room. We found a stall and Michelle locked the door, hanging up the jeans on the hook on the back of the door. She leaned against it, crossing her arms. I suddenly felt embarrassed, realizing she wasn’t going anywhere.

“I promise I'm not going to perv,” she said, as if she had read my thoughts - which wasn’t unlikely. “I just want to make sure they look good on you, Bri and Zacky have zero clue about fashion.”

Michelle was probably right. I quickly took off my pants as she handed me the first pair. Slipping them on, I liked how they felt around my waist and turning in the mirror, I was surprised to see I had a little bit of a butt in them.

Three hours later, I had bought four pairs of jeans, six shirts, two pairs of shoes, along with a new bra and a set of underwear that Michelle had demanded I buy from Victoria’s Secret. The price made me wince - almost three hundred dollars in total, but Zacky reassured me that Jaed would give me more money if I needed it.

“I just need to get two more things.” I told the group as I walked into a wellness store. Once Brian and Zacky saw where I was heading, their eyes widened and they backed out of the store, looking as if I had three heads.

“Oh my god you two, she’s getting tampons, they're not going to eat you!” Michelle exclaimed at the boys hesitation to come in the store. I couldn’t help but giggle as Michelle joked to shove them up their noses if they kept being babies about it.

For a moment, all of my problems were washed away and I felt like I actually belonged with this group. I didn’t have to worry about groups of Supernaturals coming to get me, and I could enjoy the time I was spending with the man of my dreams and his friends.

But deep down, I knew it wouldn't last long.
