Stand Up and Scream

“Danny we better get going now if we want a good place!” Haley-Ray shouted to her flat mate and her best friend as she was trying to get her long brown hair into a ponytail.

“I'm coming!” Dannielynn shouted as she walked out of her room.

“Nice outfit,” Haley said as she looked over her friend.

Danny looked down at her black Avenged Sevenfold tank and her blue high-waist shorts with her black converse. Danny looked up and smiled. She flipped her curled blonde hair over her shoulder and gave a twirl.

“I'm just too fabulous, Darlin'.” Danny said as she walked over to Haley.

“Don't flatter yourself too much,” Haley scoffed as she patted Danny's cheek.

Danny pouted and walked out of the door. Haley found her sitting on the bonnet and looked
at her with a raised eyebrow.

“I was going to say you look sexy with all of your gear in, but that doesn't matter now.” Danny said as she got off the bonnet and into Haley's silver SUV.

Haley laughed and got into her car. Both girls put their seatbelts in and played the latest CD by Avenged Sevenfold, which happened to be a self-titled album.

“Ya know I love yo really, Danny.” Haley said as she bobbed her head in time with Critical Acclaim.

“I know, I'm not really mad at you!” Danny exclaimed as she hugged her best friend.

“I'm driving, stop!” Haley said while laughing, trying to get Danny to stop hugging her.
Danny let go of Haley and started to sing loudly to the song. Haley continued to drive to the venue and tapped her fingers in the steering wheel.

“Hal, how many times have we met these?” Danny asked as Dear God came on.

“About six times? More? Less? I don't know.” Haley said as she thought about how many times she has met her idols.

Danny shrugged and looked out of the car window. The Sun was soon to set and it gave the sky full of orange, pink and yellow. Danny smiled softly, she was happy that she made this choice. She moved out of her parents house when she was 18, that was three years ago.
She sighed softly and felt Haley grab her hand.

“There not here anymore,”

“I know.” Danny said as she looked at Haley.

“You don't regret it, do you?” Haley asked while keeping her hand on Danny's.

“Not at all. You gave me hope that I could leave them.” Danny said quietly while looking back outside.

“Good, I just wish that you left on a happy note.”

“Haley, I don't feel sorry for my past. The past has made me who I am today. Anyway, it was a happy note, for me anyway. I turned legal to move out and I did.” Danny told Haley.

Haley nodded her head and pulled up into the venue's parking lot. Both girls jumped out of the car and ran into the queue that was outside. Danny noticed that there wasn't many people at the front and grinned at Haley.

“We're going to be near the front!” Danny squealed.

“I know!”

Danny and Haley excitedly talked about how their favourite band was going to play and how they were going to meet them, again. Haley noticed that more and more people came as the time ticked on. Danny was looking all around her and seeing how many fans were going to be there tonight.

At 7:30 PM the doors opened and Danny dragged over yo the merchandise table. They both bought more band tops and then made their way to the stage. There were bars and bodyguards everywhere, stopping the fans to get to the band.

Danny looked over at Haley and laughed. Haley always looked around the stage before every show ans saw everything around her.

“Do you think that they will pick out someone to play tonight?” Danny asked as she saw Matt or Jason Berry set something on the stage.

“Maybe, this is their home town. And last time they picked someone out here and in the last state they were in, I saw the video.” Danny nodded her head and waited for the supporting act.

Haley noticed her friends excitement and smiled to herself as she remembered all of the times that they snuck out to get to a concert when they were both living at the parents. The lights darkened and fan screamed, including Danny and Haley.

After the supporting act Danny and Haley were pumped up, ready for Avenged Sevenfold. Danny and Haley were pushed up against the metal bars as fans tried to get to the front. Danny leaned over to a bodyguard and told him something, making the bald man laugh.

The organs started to play for Critical Acclaim and the crowd went wild. The lights brightened and everyone saw the band. Danny saw Synyster and Zacky with their backs to the crowd where M. Shadows was playing the organ with Johnny walking from the left hand side wing and The Rev behind his drums.

She grabbed hold of Haley's hand and squeezed showing her excitement. Haley squeezed back and held on to her hand.

Syn started and the band gradually joined in. M. Shadows started to scream into the mic and the crowd already already started the circle pit. Danny and Haley moved their heads to the music and sang along with most people in the crowd.

“Fuck you!” The Rev sang/screamed into the mic.

Danny always laughed at that and started to sing with Matt. She saw Syn look at her and winked. Danny looked behind her and saw him staring at her. Danny blushed and looked somewhere else. Haley saw this and squeezed Danny's hand. Danny shook her her head and watched Zacky and Syn back to back.

After the song finished M. Shadows waited for the crowd to die down.

“Here we are in our home town!” Everyone went crazy. “We already have a fucking circle pit going in the middle there. So how y'all doing tonight?” The crowd all yelled and screamed back Matt nodded his head. “Well, we got more stuff coming to y'all tonight. So shall we get into more old Avenged Sevenfold? This one is called Second Heartbeat!”

The crowd went crazy again and sang along with Matt. Danny and Haley felt more pressure in their hips as they were being pushed into the bars again.

After Second Heartbeat was Afterlife, then Beast and the Harlot and Scream. Danny and Haley was enjoying every moment and singing along to every song. Matt, Syn and Zacky made some jokes and made the whole crowd laugh.

“Now we want a person to come up her and do some shit with us!” Matt said as he scanned the crowd. “Who wants to get their ass up here?”

Haley pushed Danny up a bit and Danny shook her head, not wanting to get up in front of thousands of people.

“How about this one?” Her friend wants her to come on.” Zacky said while looking over at Danny and Haley.

Danny sighed and let the bodyguard pick her up and take her to the stage. Matt helped her on to the stage and Danny instantly saw Haley. Danny stuck up her middle finger to her and laughed as she blew a kiss to her.

“And your name is?” Matt asked.

“Dannielynn, but call me Danny.”

“Alright then Danny, what can you do so much that your friend wants ya up here?” Matt asked.

“I can play guitar and sing a bit,” Danny said shyly.

“Seems like my girl,” Zacky said with a wink. Danny blushed and looked away.

“Lead, rhythm or bass?” Matt asked.

“I'm better at lead,” Danny said quietly.

“Let's see if she can beat Syn!” Matt yelled into the mic.

Danny walked over to Syn. He smiled at her and handed over hi guitar. He gave her a spare pick and sat on one of the tables near the side.

“Now that we have a new lead guitarist, why don't we get Christ to sing the beginning of this song?”

The crowd yelled and screamed and Danny took a deep breath.

“So what song we singing, Shadz?” Johnny asked.

“Seize the Day? Danny you know that, right?”

Danny nodded her head and looked over at Haley in the crowd. Haley knew that Seize the Day was Danny's favourite song. Haley put her thumbs up and mouthed 'Good luck' to Danny. Danny nodded her head to her friend and looked over a Syn. He nodded his head and smiled.

“Seize the day or die regretting the time you lost
It's empty and cold with out you here, too many people to ache over.”

Johnny sang. A moment later all you could heard was Jimmy laugh. Danny laughed at Jimmy and started to play her favourite song.

Syn, Zacky and The Rev sang the back up's but Danny hardly heard them as she played on Syn's guitar. When it was near the time for the solo, Danny felt Syn come up behind her.
“Do you need help for this bit?” she heard him ask.

Danny shook her head and showed one of her idols what she could do. Danny saw Haley cheer for her as she thrashed playing guitar. The song finished and Danny looked at the guys.

All of them were clapping for her as well as the crowd.

“That's my bitch!” she heard Haley yell.

Danny looked over at her friend in the crowd and laughed.

“Looks like you could be the new Synyster Gates,” Johnny said as he stole Zacky's mic
Danny blushed and handed Syn his guitar and pick back. Syn put the pick back into her hands and winked.

“Keep it as a reminder.”

Danny nodded and smiled. She looked down at it noticing its colour. It was white with a Deathbat on the front. She turned it over and saw that he had signed it. Danny grinned and looked over at him. He held out an arm and hugged her.

“Rev, why don't you come down here and meet this nice lady. I'm pretty sure we've met you before?” Matt said.

Danny nodded her head and looked at Matt.

“I've been to most of the meet and greets.”

Matt nodded his head and hugged the smaller girl. Zacky went up to her and hugged her as well. Johnny moved his guitar to hug her and Danny was pulled out of his grip softly by The Rev. Danny smiled as she saw that he had no shirt on and was showing his 'FICTION' tattoo.

“Well, I think we should have another round of applause for Danny here!” Matt said.

The crowd once again clapped and Matt turned to her.

“Are you and your friend coming to this meet and greet??” the mic wasn't near his mouth and Danny nodded her head.

He smiled, showing his dimples and motioned for one of the roadies to come to him.

“Get backstage passes for Danny and her friend,” he said to one of the Berry twins.
Danny smiled at Matt and then looked towards Haley. She was with the bodyguard and the
Berry.

“And what's your name, Darling?” Matt asked.

“Haley-Ray.”

“Well, I think that Haley-Ray deserves a cheer as well as she made Danny show up!”

The crowed cheered for Haley and both girls were brought backstage.

“If you are really a Avenged Sevenfold fan, you should sort of know who I am.”

“Your Jason or Matt Berry.” Danny said.

“Matt, Jason is the one with long hair and cap.” both girls nodded and watched the gig from the side with the rest of the roadies.

The band finished off with A Little Piece of Heaven and stayed on stage for another minute or two talking to the crowd.

The guys made their way backstage and smiled as they walked tp the girls.

“We're just gonna freshen up then we'll come into the backroom with the other fans.” Matt said as he walked backwards.

Danny and Haley nodded their heads and followed Matt into the backroom. No one else was in there yet so they made themselves comfortable with a can of beer in their hands, waiting for the other crazy fans and the band.
