Two Vibrant Hearts

Chapter Fourty-Seven

“Kid.” Jimmy whispered in my ear. I moaned and pushed my face further into the pillow. Jimmy shook my shoulder and I swatted him away. “Kiddie. It’s time to get up. The concert’s in a few hours.”
“What time is it?” I mumbled, my voice muffled from the pillow.
“One.” Jimmy said flatly. I moaned and sat up, scratching my blob of hair.
“You just can’t get your sleep when you’re friends with Avenged. Ever.” I groaned as I got out of Jimmy’s bed. I grabbed my clothes and makeup out of my bag and headed towards his bathroom. “Thanks for letting me stay here, by the way.”
“No problem. It’s always nice to have a snuggle-buddy.” Jimmy replied happily. I smiled at him and looked around his bathroom.
“Are you going to need this anytime soon? Because once I get into my hair and makeup, there is no way you’ll be getting in here anytime soon.” I warned him. Jimmy chuckled and shook his head.
“Straightener is under the sink.” Jimmy informed me. I thanked him before shutting the door. I brushed out my rat’s nest before pulling off my tank top and shorts I slept in. I pulled on my Avenged crop-top and my Avenged Sevenfold skinny jeans, which I had personally created years ago in the hopes that I’d meet them one day and they’d call my jeans kick-ass. I then pulled out Jimmy’s straightener and straightened my hair as much as I could without making my hair falling out. Once I was done I started on my eye makeup, making sure my eyes were popping. Once I was done I threw my favorite black beanie on and slid socks on my feet before leaving the bathroom. Jimmy was drumming on a pad he had laying around in his room, but he stopped when he saw me. “Damn, Kid. You’re hot.”
“Thanks.” I smiled, turning for him to see. He complimented my pants, and I took the compliments openly. As he was looking me up and down once again, a sly smirk appeared on his face.
“Are you trying to look hot for someone?” Jimmy questioned. I raised an eyebrow and crossed my arms over my chest.
“If that person is myself, then yes.” I retorted.
“Are you sure that you’re not trying to impress someone that has a name that starts with an M?” Jimmy persisted, leaning closer to me. I scoffed and shook my head.
“I don’t need to impress him anymore, he has Gayle.” I informed him. Jimmy scowled and absent-mindedly began drumming on his pad again.
“I can’t believe he’s fucking dating that bitch again. Like oh my God.” Jimmy complained. I chuckled, thinking back to a few days ago when we found out about Gayle.
*
“Y-you’re kidding, right?” Zach stuttered. Matt’s face looked even guiltier as he remained silent.
“When the fuck did this happen?!” Emma snapped, looking irritated. She had ultimately grown apart from Gayle when she heard how she was involved with the problems I had with Matt. I couldn’t imagine how pissed she was that Gayle stole the guy I was chasing, since our old friend had done that to her countless times back in Nebraska.
“Well, uh, it was the day that she went to talk to Kid,” Matt began, his voice wavering. He knew everyone was pissed off, and I could see him stealing glances at me to see if I was upset. In all honesty, I was more surprised and angry than upset. Gayle was a fucking bitch. “She came to my house in tears, with a red handprint on her face,” I could tell Matt was trying not to smile at the memory, but I was. She deserved my hand on her face. “I almost slammed the door in her face but she begged me to let her explain. She talked about how she only chose the other guy because he was abusive and that she didn’t mean to hurt me like that. She asked for another chance and… and I said yes.”
“You actually believed her bullshit?” Brian snapped, looking the most pissed out of them all. “What the fuck are you doing dude? She ruined your fucking relationship with Kid and you’re just-“
“Brian, stop.” I spoke, my voice calm. Everyone looked at me and I smiled, staring directly at Matt and Gayle. “Congratulations on your relationship, you guys.” Everyone’s mouths dropped and looked at me with complete perplexity except for Gayle. She looked downright pissed and I knew exactly why. She probably only got back together with Matt to get back at me, so the fact that I wasn’t acting upset in any way made her angry.
“Kid, are you actually saying you’re okay with this?” Zach asked, his eyes nearly popping out of his head. I smirked a little, my eyes not leaving Matt and Gayle.
“Of course I’m not,” I admitted, the smile not leaving my face. “But Matt and Gayle are adults, and they can make their own decisions, can’t they?” Everyone was silent and my smile softened as I turned my head a little. “I wish you guys the best of luck this time. I’ll see you around. I heard there’s a concert in a few days?” Matt nodded slowly and I blinked innocently. “Well then I will see you then.”
“Come on guys, let’s get out of here.” Johnny mumbled quietly, turning towards the door. We all began to walk out when Matt sat straight up in his seat.
“Wait, guys.” Matt called. We turned around and looked at him. He looked desperate and confused. “I thought we were gonna hang out today.”
“We were. Before you let the mutt in.” Brian spat. “We don’t want to catch her STDs. You can do that by yourself.”
“Oh, Bri,” Gayle suddenly spoke, a sickening grin crossing her face. “I already told you before. It wouldn’t be me you’d be catching STDs from. I’m surprised your friends still hang out with you.”
“Listen here you fucking bitch!” Brian yelled, cracking. He began walking towards Gayle with his hands clenched when Zach and Jimmy grabbed his arms and held him back. Fear flickered in Gayle’s eyes for a second before composing herself, while Matt sat looking like an idiot. “I told you before and I’ll tell you now. I have absolutely NO problem punching scum like you, you little cu-“
“Brian, calm down.” Johnny interrupted, pushing on Brian’s chest. The three guys all shoved Brian out of the door, while Emma and I followed behind.

I pulled out of my reminiscence and looked at Jimmy, who was still fuming. “Well, I guess that’s just his choice.” Jimmy looked up at me with shocked eyes.
“How can you be okay with this?” Jimmy asked, his voice slightly accusing.
“I’m nowhere near okay with this, Jimbo, trust me,” I sighed. He raised his eyebrows and I bit my lip. “I know that Gayle is only together with Matt because she knows I want him. If I give her the satisfaction of being upset, she’d win.”
“Overall, you seem more pissed that upset.” Jimmy observed.
“I am. Fuck being upset about this, I am angry.” I grumbled. “He fucks me over because I was friends with his ex, and when things finally get back on track, he chooses to re-date the girl that broke us up in the first place? Like what the fuck!”
“I understand.” Jimmy sighed. He put his pad down and stretched before grabbing his clothes off of his dresser. “I’m gonna get ready for the concert.”
“Go ahead, Jimbo. I’ll be here.” I smiled. He nodded and returned the smile before walking towards the bathroom. My stomach grumbled and I turned to him. “Actually, I’m pretty hungry. Do you want me to pick us up some Taco Bell or something?”
“Sure. Get me whatever you want to buy me.” Jimmy said casually. I nodded and grabbed my keys off the dresser. I jogged down the steps and out to my car, wanting to hurry. The concert was in some park I’ve never heard of at six, and right now it was four. I got to Taco Bell and ordered us just some plain tacos and got us both a drink before heading back. By the time I got home, Jimmy was watching TV, all dressed and ready for the concert.
“Food’s here.” I announced. Jimmy smiled widely and I handed him his tacos and drink before I sat down and dug into my food. Jimmy told me the setlist for tonight, which took just long enough so that we were done with our food and ready to go. Jimmy offered to drive, and we headed off.
“So what are you going to do at the concert with slut-face there?” Jimmy asked, smirking at me.
“Just act normal and be nice to her just to piss her off.” I shrugged. Jimmy eyed me again and chuckled.
“Well I know one thing’s for sure,” Jimmy laughed. I raised an eyebrow and he smiled. “Matt won’t be able to keep his eyes off of you.” The car was silent after that, except for Bat Country playing quietly in the background from the radio. Most of California knew about this park concert, so it’s probably one big ass park.
My eyes popped out when my thoughts rang true about the size of the park. As we got nearer, the line of fans were about two blocks back. We got closer and I almost choked on air. The park was bigger than any amphitheater in Nebraska, which made me cringe at the sight. The place was filled with fans, all pushing to the huge ass stage, which was currently sporting a huge curtain with the deathbat printed on it. Jimmy chuckled and shut my mouth for me as he drove behind the stage, where all the other guys were already present. We jumped out and walked up to everyone, who was just talking and laughing in a circle. Of course, Matt had his arm around Gayle, who was wear quite possibly the sluttiest outfit I had ever seen on a fan.
“Sup guys. Are we going on early?” Jimmy asked. I checked the time, and there was still an hour and a half before the concert started. All the guys looked at each other.
“Well, the equipment is still getting set up,” Matt explained. I rolled my eyes just at the sound of his voice, which caused those who saw me to let out a small laugh. Matt shot me a look and I just batted my eyelashes innocently. I noticed as he looked me up and down, totally failing at being inconspicuous about it. “But if they set it up pretty quick we could start early just to freak the fans out.”
“Speaking of that,” Emma started. “Do we have to stand in the crowd?”
“Fuck that,” I interjected, a sly smirk crossing my face. “Tried it once before, I’m not going to do that again. I don’t think The Rev would want to pull me out of this crowd.”
“I’d pull you out of anything,” Jimmy said mockingly, winking at me. I returned it and jokingly blew him a kiss. I giggled childishly when he pretended to catch it and stick it to his heart.
“No, Kid, you won’t have to go into the crowd,” Zach answered, smiling at Jimmy and my little skit. I sighed in relief, which caused everyone to laugh, except for Gayle of course. She just stood like the bitch she was, pride written all over her egotistical face. “I definitely wouldn’t let you go into the crowd wearing that.”
“What’s wrong with what I’m wearing?” I asked, looking back down at my outfit. So maybe the shirt was slightly short, but my skinny jeans were high on my waist and my converse were tight on my feet. I looked back up at the guys, who were all checking me out, including Johnny.
“Well one, what you did to your skinny jeans is bad-ass,” Johnny pointed out. I smiled widely and watched as everyone else nodded.
“And two, you’re a fucking gorgeous and young girl.” Zach added. I blushed and he smirked. “Who, by the way, has her tits almost falling out of her shirt.”
“Hey, I bought this when I thought I’d have to seduce one of you to talk to me.” I commented. Everyone laughed and I smiled.
“I remember I was with you when you bought that,” Emma reminisced. I smiled and she rolled her eyes. “I actually own one of those in white.”
“Why didn’t you wear it?” Johnny asked. I snickered at his urgency, obviously wishing Emma would have worn a shirt that had her boobs flying out like I had. Emma was in her Avenged Sevenfold shirt she bought back in senior year when she saw them for the first time without me and her acid wash skinny jeans.
“I forgot that I owned it.” Emma admitted, shrugging. “I own so much Avenged shit that your merch has its own drawer.”
“Damn.” Brian whistled. Just then, one of the roadies, I think his name was Jason, informed the guys that they had everything set up and checked. He said they could start whenever before promptly walking away towards some other roadies.
“Do you guys want to go on now?” Johnny asked. Everyone agreed and they all went to the stage. They grabbed their instruments and tuned them, not quite plugging them in yet. Once everything was checked, they came back towards where Emma, Gayle, and I stood silently as we watched them.
“Are you guys ready?” Matt asked. Once again they all nodded, and he reciprocated. “Okay, let’s start it up.”
“Good luck guys.” I said encouragingly. They all thanked me, and I could feel Matt’s eyes on me. I glanced at him right as Gayle pulled him down and shoved her disease-ridden tongue down his throat. Emma gagged and I shot a look to the other’s, who were all trying not to throw up. I turned away and watched as the curtain fell, which caused a loud scream to rip through the crowd. Matt began the chords of Critical Acclaim, which caused another scream to rumble through the crowd.
“What’s up California? How the fuck are you guys doing!?” Matt screamed through his microphone. I smirked at the obnoxious noises coming from the crowd. “You guys ready to fuck this shit up?!” I sighed and rubbed my head as the screams became even more annoying. Emma shot me an irritated look and I returned it, feeling Gayle’s stare bore into my back as I ignored her presence. Matt finally began singing, which got me to quietly sing with him, as well as Emma. They continued through a few songs before Brian gazed over at us.
“Hey guys, I got some seriously shocking news.” Brian announced as Matt finished the last notes of Beast and the Harlot.
“And what would that be, Gates?” Matt questioned. Brian smirked directly at Emma before turning back to Matt. Emma’s face turned bright red as we both figured out where he was going.
“Johnny Christ got himself a girlfriend.” Brian said, looking over at Johnny. He looked both proud and embarrassed as the crowd yelled denials.
“You don’t believe us?” Matt asked. People all shook their head and screamed no, which caused Matt to laugh. “Well, why don’t we just bring her out then. Emma, why don’t you come out and show people that it is possible for Johnny Christ to get a girl.” The crowd screamed and I looked anxiously at Emma. She stood in shock, unable to move.
“Emma, move.” I commanded. She shook her head a little bit and I sighed before stepping behind her and walking slightly out onto the stage before shoving her in Johnny’s direction. She nearly fell, but Johnny caught her and put his arm around her.
“Yeah, you see that?” Zach questioned, pointing to Johnny and Emma. “That happened all on its own. Didn’t even have to pay her or anything.” People aw’ed and all that other good stuff, and I watched as Johnny kissed Emma gently, which caused another reaction scream from the crowd. They had Emma stay on the stage for Afterlife, which they all knew was her favorite song. Emma glanced at me and I gave her thumbs up.
“Wow, she’s lucky.” Gayle commented from beside me. I kept myself from tensing up at her voice, because she’d realize how much she irritates me.
“Yeah, she is.” I replied casually.
“Except now she might get death threats from Johnny Christ fans.” Gayle added. I smirked and rolled my eyes, glad that she was outside of my sight.
“She won’t get as much as she would if she were dating Syn.” I stated.
“Or Shadows.” She said, smugness filling her voice.
