Second Heartbeat (Avenged Sevenfold & Metallica)

After a while there's a knock on my door, so I get up to see who's there. I look through the peephole and see Joey with Brian aka Synyster Gates. I call from behind the door.

“What do you want?”
“To see if you want to hang out.”
“I'm not in the mood. Please leave me alone.”
“Look I'm sorry about what happened. I totally forgot about Gary.”
“It's whatever. Just please leave. I don't want to look at any of you for a few days.”
“Why?”
“Because I'm in one of my unhealthy state of minds.”
“You're not supposed to be alone when you're in that state of mind!”
“I don't care. I wanna be left alone.”
“Don't make me get your dad.”
“Go ahead. That doesn't scare me.”
“Suit yourself.”

I roll my eyes and just go out on the porch attached to my hotel room. I'm on the highest floor possible so it's wicked high up. I don't like heights, so I stay away from the edge so I'm not looking at how far down the ground is. I look over at the porch next to me and see one of the girls that was with Avenged Sevenfold. I wonder if they're girlfriends of the guys? If so, I wonder who is dating who. Before she notices me I decide to go back in my room. I sit down on my couch and just stare ahead of me. I run my finger across my wrists and frown, knowing what thoughts are creeping into my brain. As I'm sitting here there's a soft, yet frantic, knocking on my door. Thinking it's my dad, I sigh and get up to answer it. As I open the door, I don't see my dad. I see Jimmy aka The Rev from Avenged Sevenfold.

“Jimmy? W-what are you doing here?”
“Can I come in?”
“Uhm. Yeah sure.”

I stand aside so he can come in and close the door behind him once he enters. I follow him to the couch and sit down next to him. He gives me a worried look before grabbing my arms and looking at my wrists. I frown wondering why he's doing that and he just sighs in relief.

“Oh thank God.”
“Why are you lo--”
“I have a knack of knowing things and I had a feeling you were going to cut yourself.”
“I-- Well, the thought was on my mind...”
“Yeah, which was why I came here to make sure you didn't do it.”
“Oh. Thanks I guess...”
“Mhm. How come it was on your mind?”

I just shrug and let out a sigh.

“Well I was just thinking about my ex...”

He nods.

“I see.”
“Yeah. He nearly beat me to death.”

Jimmy looks at me and frowns.

“What? Why would he do that?”
“He was doing drugs and drinking and he got so overboard with it all that it led him to the point of becoming an angry person. He came to my house one day, under the influence, and tried to get me to have sex with him and when I said no because he was too drunk and high he started to beat me. He also took one of my vases and smashed it to pieces so he could use one of the shards of glass to cut my neck. It wasn't a deep cut, but it was enough to make me bleed. The scar is small so you can't really see it. He also stabbed me in the chest with it, which barely knicked my heart. He left and a few hours later my band mate Joey came over looking for me and found me on the floor unconscious. He had rushed me to the hospital and when I woke up hours later he asked me who did it and I told him it was Gary. Joey called my father while he was on tour and my dad had to cancel the next few shows on the tour to come back to me. When he found out it was Gary he called the cops and had them get a warrant for his arrest. When they found him they threw him in prison for ten years.”
“Oh wow. I am so sorry.”

He hugs me tightly to him and I just nod, burying my face in his chest.

“How long ago was this?”
“About two years ago.”
“I'm so sorry. Have you moved since then so he doesn't find you when he gets out?”
“No. I plan on moving out once I find myself a new man. I don't think that'll happen any time soon though because I've been touring around with my father. I don't have time to go on dates.”
“Well... what if I took you on a date?”

I look up at him and he has a smile on his face. I blush and look down.

“You'd wanna take someone like me on a date?”
“Yeah! It would be a date to get to know you better. See if you like the same things I like, have a similar personality...”

I look up at him and smile.

“I guess that sounds like a good idea.”
“You guess?” He chuckles.
“Okay it is a good idea.”
“I thought so.”

He laughs and brushes my hair from my face.

“When do you want to go on this date? We have a few available days until the first concert.”
“Uhm... do you think we have time tonight?” I bite my lip.
“I think we do. Let me get things figured out and I'll come back for you. In the meantime, get ready.”
“Okay. Thanks, Jimmy.”

I press a gentle kiss to his cheek and he smiles.

“You're welcome.”

I see something flash in his eyes and I smile.

“I'll see you later?”
“Yes.”

He smiles at me before getting up and leaving my room. I sit here for a few moments before letting out an excited squeal. I get up and start going through my suitcases for an outfit to wear for the date. I grab my pink dress with black lace and my pink and black heels before going to the bathroom to take a quick shower. When I get out, I quickly dry off and blow dry my hair before getting dressed. I do my hair and make up and put in my pink earrings and put on my Avenged Sevenfold dog tag necklace. I check myself out in the mirror before smiling.

“Perfect.”
