Brian’s POV
I tried to be patient I tried to understand but when I heard her and Joe were in Arin’s room I couldn’t wait any longer.
I knew she was hurt and she was sad about the deal her father had made, but she told me she didn’t wanna be around anyone, how come that Arin wasn’t anyone.
I could have helped her, too.
I wanted to help her, damn, it felt like I needed to help her. So when I regained control I moved towards Arin’s door waited a moment there, just taking in the picture of Arin on his laptop and both sisters sitting beside him, trying to see what he was doing…
Enough, I needed her now… Needed to make clear to her that I didn’t wanna lie to her… That I didn’t mean to.
To my own surprise Jacky gave in and I could lead her out of Arin’s room.
When we stopped at her door, I was a little afraid she would dismiss me right away again but she opened her door and pulled me inside with her.
She moved to her bed and lay down, I lay beside her and we didn’t speak. But I had so much to say, so much I wanted to tell her… weighing on my mind.
Still I kept my mouth shut, gave her the silence she might need… we had time… I could wait… a little longer at least.
“Why?” Jacky asked finally a single world filled with sorrow.
“I don’t know Jacky… I wish I could tell you more. But we will try to find out… I promise we will.” I pulled Jacky closer to me and she rested her head on my chest, making the ache in my heart a little less.
“And why didn’t you tell me, Brian? I thought the not keeping any more secrets was going both ways, not only a one way road for me… Is there more… more I don’t know?” Even worse sounded her voice now with disappointed and maybe even a little betrayal and it felt like a knife was stabbed in my heart hearing her direct that at me.
“I didn’t mean to… I asked Matt to tell you, but babe, you know he is still the boss. I know how that sound and since we are all friends its different than in other companies, but even I have to keep some guidelines. Anyway I know now that I should have insisted on telling you… but at some point I… I was ignoring the fact why you were here… because it just felt too good to have you, and I mean not as my client, but as my girlfriend… Jacky I told you I love you and I mean it… seeing you so disappointed in me breaks my heart, believe me.” I felt Jacky push herself up on her elbows, her eyes meeting mine, and they were shining with love and nothing else.
“I know, Brian… It wasn’t only in you not telling me, everything about my Dad made me… just made me so depressed… It’s not all your fault… I’m sorry.” She pressed her soft lips to mine and I sighed in relief.
“Let’s find us something to eat, you must be hungry. I haven’t seen you eating all day.” I suggested and as if on cue her stomach growled loudly.
“Yeah, I think that is a good idea… I could use some food and a little distraction.” Jacky smiled and I pushed myself of her bed.
I grabbed her hand and pulled her to my body “I’m really sorry, I want to make that clear. No lying and no more secrets, also from my part. We will figure something out, I promise.”

Joe´s POV
“I will leave you two to it”
Matt’s voice brought me back to the here and now. I looked at him, pushing his body from the doorpost, halfway out of sight already. He looked hurt, and I now knew what he meant earlier when he told me it hurt him to see me hurting. I felt a light push against my leg and I looked up at Arin, surprised.
“He cares for you Josephine, I can see it in his eyes” he whispered shyly. I blushed, so Arin noticed more than everyone thought, huh?
“I know, it’s just, I’m not used to this, you know…” I could barely even hear my own voice and I just couldn’t believe I was confiding in Arin.
“He can guide you, he is real good at teaching” a smile crept over his face “You only need to let him”
I nodded, Arin was right. I quickly got up from the bed, pecked Arin’s cheek and rushed out in the hallway, but Matt was already gone.

I walked down, but the office was empty. I was already half way up the stairs when I saw Matt coming out of the kitchen, cup in hand, our eyes met and I only saw sadness in his.
“Did you get me coffee?” I asked as I made my way down again.
“If you want to” he replied quietly, his reply containing so much more than just an answer to my previous question. He slowly walked into the office, waiting for me at the door, closing it the minute I got in.

“Are you okay?” He asked the minute the door clicked.
I nodded and jumped forward, wrapping my arms around his neck, pulling him down for a kiss. I felt him smile into our kiss as he moved us both to his chair, putting the cup down and pulling me onto his lap.
“What was that for?” he whispered against my lips, before kissing me again.
“Just you, being here, I’m sorry for shutting you out”
“It doesn’t matter, if that’s what you need, I will wait” His voice was comforting and I got all tingly feeling inside, did this man really mine? I knew I needed to open up to him if I wanted this to work.
“I don’t know how to do this, Matt.” I whispered and he looked at me intently “I’ve always been alone, I had to do everything by myself, I took care of myself, my company and everyone else around me, I never had anyone that wanted to be there for me….help me….support me…. I don’t know how to share, how to not do it myself”
“Oh Josephine, that’s just sad” I felt Matt’s fingers on my cheek and I shivered, that little touch, containing so much love. He stared into my eyes as he caressed my face.
“Please let me help you, I want to be that person Joe, I want to be everything, all of it… Please let me”
I stared at him, wide eyes, my mouth hanging open. He could have said ‘I love you’ but this meant even more to me, I didn’t need anything else. I let my lips crash on his and kissed him hungrily as I felt him pull me against him even closer.

“I think we should tell the others” Matt’s head snapped up at me “Let’s tell your friends, let’s tell my sister, I want to be with you, REALLY be with you, we’ve waited long enough.” His smile grew facewide.
“We will tell them in a few days, I want to have some time alone first” he replied, inbetween kisses.
I sighed “We are never alone here, Matt, we already found out several times before”
“I have a plan, leave it to me… You have a few meetings in Las Vegas tomorrow and the day after tomorrow right?”
I looked at him confused
“Just go with it, I will arrange everything” He lifted me off his lap and put me on his chair as he made his way out, grinning like an idiot, what was that about!?

Brian´s POV
We made our way down towards the kitchen finding Arin there fixing himself a sandwich.
“You both okay?” Arin asked looking between me and Jacky back and forth.
“We are good, thanks little bro.”
“You mean big bro” Arin stood straight to his full height and smiling down on Jacky who pushed him aside with her hip making Arin stumble a little before he regained his composure grabbing his sandwich and left us alone again.
“I really think that kid would try and get in a fight with me, if he thought I wouldn’t treat you well.” I mused looking out the door where Arin just left, when I turned back to Jacky she had a huge smile on her face, and that was the one I loved to see on her.
“I guess so too.” Jacky chuckled.
“He wouldn’t stand a chance.” I smirked.
“That’s why it makes me even more proud… for the rest I’d call Dean.” Jacky laughed when I grabbed her around the waist.
“Why you gotta mention that awful guy again… I was so happy being rid of him finally.” I tickled her sides and she laughed loudly.
“Stop it, Brian.. Pleaseee” Jacky chocked out between laughs and I finally let go of her and she turns around my arms, her hands sneaked around my neck and her body formed perfectly to mine. I leaned my head down and closed her mouth with mine, let my tongue glide inside her mouth, never getting enough of her unique taste.
I had to think of a little something to make her feel better and forget about her trouble, just a little something…

Matt’s POV
“Where is Arin?”
I walked into the kitchen, finding a laughing Brian and Jacky, looks like they fixed things.
“Just left for his office again” Jacky replied giggling, while Brian kept tickling her.
“Good” I rushed out and walked straight for Arin’s office.
“Arin, you need to book a cabin at Big Bear Lake for tomorrow, 2 nights. Book one close to the hotel, but with enough privacy, I want to have them be able to deliver dinner to the cabin”
I got a surprised look from Arin, but he quickly regained his professionalism.
“What are the names of the residents?”
“Mine and Joe’s”
A slight smirk tugged Arin’s lips and he opened his mouth to say something, but I cut him off.
“Arin, you see things, you know things, it comes with your job and more importantly, I see you as my friend, please don’t make me regret trusting you”
Arin nodded curtly with a smile on his face and I turned around to leave the office again when I heard Arin’s voice.
“Good for you, Matt, she fits you perfectly”
“I know” I replied, while walking out. I needed to find Joe and tell her to pack her things.

I didn’t have to look far, I ran into her in the hallway on my way over to our office. I walked over to her as she stared at me with expecting eyes.
Everyone was at home and the risk was getting caught was too high, so again I couldn’t do what I wanted the most and for a second I thought of throwing the plan out of the door, but the idea of having her all to myself with no one interrupting us won.
I stood real close to her, not touching her
“Go pack your things, we leave first thing in the morning, I planned something for us, but you have to keep with the story that you have a few meetings in Vegas, okay?”
She let out a sigh and looked at me excited, I only then realized she had been holding her breath.
“Really?” I nodded “What should I pack?”
I gave her a devilish smile “Not much, I don’t think you will be wearing much clothes the next few days”
Her breath got stuck in her throat “Oh”. We got caught up in a staring contest and barely even noticed Zack walking in, until he spoke up.
“Are you going to kill each other?” he spoke dryly as he made his way past us to the kitchen, not even taking notice of us any further.
“That was close” Joe giggled
“This will be even closer” I pecked her lips for only a second, leaving her speechless and then turned around to walk over to the kitchen.
Brian, Zack and Jacky were talking about our company anniversary party. I completely forgot about that, I should be getting busy with that. Most of it had already been arranged, but it came closer soon, and there was still enough to do. But not now… not these next few days…

“Joe and I have to go to Vegas, she has a few meetings there, so we will stay out. We leave first thing in the morning” I announced just as Johnny came walking in
“Yeah baby, Vegas! I’m coming too!”
“No you won’t”
“Ahhh Matt, come on, we can have some fun while Joe attends her meetings! Sin City!”
I slapped the back of his head “I need to keep her safe, dickhead, I can’t do that when I’m getting drunk with you”
“Ladies, don’t forget all the ladies Matt, you need to get laid, just like me”
I thought about Joe, I sure need to get laid, but I would, I most certainly would.
“Sure, short shit, sure, but not now, I’m sorry, you are not coming”
“You can say that again… partypooper” Johnny pouted.
“Gates, stop by my office this afternoon so we can discuss a few running cases?” I looked at Brian and he nodded.
Good, if that was settled I would be able to focus on Joe completely. I was so aching for time together, I felt it had to be written on my forehead and I was amazed nobody saw what I was going to do.

Ohhhhhh, Matt and Joe are going on a trip together! What will happen, what will happen? :D
