Jacky’s POV
My shoes were barely on my feet when Arin walked into the room. He wore a jacket over his dark jeans and his hair was a little more controlled than usual.
"Matt is okay with it, I just talked to him. Can I help you with something?"
"No, I think I have everything, I only need to take my laptop, everything else should be settled"
Arin and I were heading over to a meeting with a few representatives of the town's largest companies. We would do some fundraising for the shelter, it was important for them, seeing they barely got any contribution from the city council.

"You look good, different" Arin looked at me with a smile, while he took my bags of the floor.
I was wearing heels today, dark jeans, blouse, jacket, the Jacky version of the business look of my sister. I needed to look the part.
I checked the last few things in my laptopbag and handed it to Arin, while Brian came walking in, stopping right in his heels when he saw Arin.

"Jacky, maybe we could go-" He looked from me to Arin and back "What the hell are you doing here? It’s early"
I looked at my watch and saw the time, shit, we had to go, it was already 10.30.
“Where are you going? I’m not ready yet, you’ll have to wait” He said as he walked over to me, giving me a small peck on the lips, completely ignoring Arin.
“Arin and I have to be somewhere, you just relax today, I will be back before you know it” I let my hand go through is hair and stepped away from him, heading for the door, but before I could take two steps, Brian grabbed my hand and stopped me.

“What?! What the hell Jacky? I thought we were passed this?” His voice was annoyed, but I saw a glimpse of hurt in his eyes.
“Arin, could you please wait for me in the car? I will be there in a minute” he nodded and disappeared out of the room, closing the door behind him.
Brian had folded his arms over his chest and looked at me angry.
“Why do you want to go anywhere with Arin? I thought you would grab any chance to get out of the house with me. Didn’t the past two days mean anything to you? Just because I didn’t sleep in your room last night?”
“Don’t be ridiculous Brian, I think I made myself more than clear that I want you, all of you. I just have to be somewhere, and I want to take Arin. It went okay the last time and it will be okay this time. Trust your friend. Trust me.”
I could see from his face that he wasn’t convinced and he kept his mouth shut.
“Brian, listen, I have a very busy day today, with important work to do, I wouldn’t have time for you anyway” I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him softly, but all I found were lips tightly pushed together
“And don’t you think it is fun to have a little mystery? You will get to know all of me soon enough and then you will be bored with me again, let’s just enjoy this time, that we have things to explore about each other, before we keep the bathroom door open when we have to pee”
Brian chuckled and wrapped his arms around me, pulling me closer. He looked down on me with an intense look.
“I just… I don’t get it”
“Don’t try to figure it out then”
I stood on my toes and kissed him again, a little more demanding this time, my tongue moving over his lips, waiting for him to open up to me so I could deepen the kiss. He didn’t disappoint me and we kissed each other hungrily until I moved away from him and gasped for air.
“I really need to go… I will see you again tonight, okay?”
Just one more kiss before I got away from him, finding he was still holding my hand
“Brian, I will need that one”
“I don’t want you to go without me… what if something will happen… I could take better care of you, then the kid…”
“Come on, he managed good last time. We will be fine, you would just distract me, and I need to be on my top game, today. Please, don’t worry. And I’m all yours again tonight, promise.” He pulled me back and gave me a mind-blowing kiss, a kiss that would linger in my mind the whole day.
“Good, that will keep you thinking of me, now go before I change my mind”

Arin’s POV
I waited in the car for Jacky and saw her approaching with a small smile on her face and her lipgloss a little out of place.
When she sat down next to me I looked at her before starting the car, waiting.
“What?” Jacky asked and her cheeks were getting red.
“You got there a little something, that is out of place...” I pointed to my own mouth to show her what I meant.
She cursed opened the mirror ahead and whisked the misplaced lipsgloss away while I chuckled.
“So... this thing...” I started and looked at Jacky from the corner of my eye.
“What thing?” Jack asked, still looking into the mirror.“The foundation thing?” Jacky asked again and I shook my head.
“No, I mean the disgusting things you are doing with Gates... Is that more than just... you know, what it looked like in the beginning?” I had to admit I was curious about it, haven’t seen Brian acting that way with a woman in... ages... well maybe never.
“He asked me to be exclusive.” Jacky smirked a happy twinkle in her eyes.
“And you?” I pressed on.
“What do you think? I agreed... I really… don’t tell him but I’m fallen for him, completely.” Jacky admitted and I smiled, and then hoped that Brian was really serious about this.
Maybe at some point I had to talk to Brian again, from concerned big brother to... friend?!

But that was a topic for later, today I was again out of my normal routine and was Jacky’s bodyguard.
“Alright, tell me what to expect today, I need to be able to be around you and keep you safe. How many people will be there? And what will you be doing?” I asked Jacky just when we arrived at the parking lot.
“Well, I will do a presentation of what we have done with the last donated money. We will make something like a donation collection for the evening and will present how much money was raised today during the talking. We will try to find new sponsors, so I will have to talk to a lot of people. There will be around 60 people from different companies from around town.” Jacky said and I sighed, damn so many people but as it sounded mostly business men, so hopefully I could get a good overview of everything.

We arrived and Jacky was already greeted by a lot of people, everybody seemed to know that she was responsible for everything and was the main contact person.
I really didn’t know why she wouldn’t want to share this with the rest of the world, why keeping it a secret?
She did so much good, and was so confident and business like about it, if her sister would know she would be really proud.
Jacky introduced me as her close friend and assistant so she could keep me always by her side, I never left her more than 4 feet away from me, only when she was doing her main presentation, welcoming all the people and presenting the latest news about what had been created at the shelter after the last donation collecting.

I looked to my side and saw a familiar face approaching my side, he was wearing a dark dress shirt and dark pants, smiling when he saw me.
“Arin, you are Jacky’s new better half or what?” Dean whispered not wanting to interrupt Jacky’s speech.
“Well... for tonight I am.” I replied with a nod and was glad having another set of eyes looking out for Jacky.
My eyes wandered to the donation table, seeing a check already printed there, I tried to read the name on it “Jay Masters” I whispered “10,000 Dollars... wow”
“Yeah, at every donation collecting.” Dean interrupted my thoughts.
“Huh?” I looked at him confused.
“At every donation Jay Masters is sending a check around that amount of money. It’s amazing having someone believing in what we are doing here.” Dean smiled and I frowned.
Maybe I should have a look at this another time...

Jacky’s POV
When I was done with my presentation, I looked to the side of the small build up stage and saw Arin and Dean.
I was glad seeing Dean again, but I also had to talk to him in private matters, tell him about me and Brian... being a couple.
But before I could do that, I had to shake a lot of hands and do more and more small talk with potential business partners for the shelter.

I had a smile plastered on my face the entire time and we raised a lot of money and found some new sponsors. I had to make a plan soon about what we would be doing with that money. I would need the help of some of the staff members for that, let them update me what would be the next step necessary for the shelter.
But the day went by so fast that when I was able to look at my phone again it was already after six.

I saw Arin standing a couple of feet away from me talking with some of the new business partners, he was already as involved in this as me.
“Mrs. Thompkinson, can I talk to you for a second?” A tall guy in dark business suit smiled at me.
“Call me Jacky, we are not that formal here. Sure, how can I help you?” I asked and smiled.
“We would like to donate a big amount of money, but not make a big deal out of this, could you come with me for a second, so we can, clear the details?” He asked and I frowned.
“Well, sure, but why not make it visible for everyone, it is a good thing.” I smiled but he shook his head motioning me out of the room.
I looked for Arin and waved my hand, to make him notice where I was going, but before I could say something more, I was pulled roughly away from the main room.
I frowned looking up to the guy who suddenly had a smirk on his face “Finally I got you alone... my boss will be happy to see you...”
My eyes widened in fear, what the- I tried to pull my arm away, but the hold was getting stronger, bruising my arm. “Let me go...Who are you... what is this about?”
“Ssshhh Jacky... the less noise you make, the less I have to hurt you...” The guy snarled and squeezed even harder.
He pushed me towards the back entrance, and I knew as soon as he would get me out of that door, I would be lost... so I took all the strange I had and tried to pull the guy away from me while I screamed!
“AARRRIIIINNN HELPPP!” I yelled as loud as I could and the guy looked at me angered and pushed me roughly against his body, his hand covering my mouth and I whimpered, his hold getting tighter while he pushed me towards the door.
“JACKY!!!” I heard Arin’s yell and tried to wiggle me out of the hold.
“JACKYY!!” Now Dean’s voice was next, when the back door opened, fear made me paralyzed, please hurry.
“THERE!” I heard Arin yell and come running towards me, Dean shortly behind him, the guy tried to shove me out of the backdoor and then I saw Arin grabbing the guy, shoving him away from me.
The guy punched Arin but he was faster, Dean came running towards me and pulled me into his embrace.
“Damn Jacky.. what the hell...” He laid his arms around me and I sobbed into his chest, couldn’t believe what just nearly happened.

Suddenly I felt another hand on my back and turned to see Arin there, he had a split lip and the guy that approached me was gone. “I’m so sorry... are you okay?” Arin hugged me and I touched his face.
“Arin, you are bleeding...” He shook his head. “Doesn’t matter, I need to contact Matt. We need to head home, right now.”
Just a couple of minutes later Arin and I sat in the car on our way to the mansion, Dean was so kind to manage the rest of the fundraising evening and apologizing me without rousing much attention.
We didn’t really talk much on the way home, I stared out of the window, trying to forget what just happened, when another tear slipped down my face.
“Arin, I’m sorry… I don’t know how this could have happened.” I told him and he touched my hand lightly.
“It’s not your fault…” He said and sighed, I just hoped he wasn’t blaming himself.
When we pulled into the driveway I saw the front door being ripped open and Matt and Brian standing in the open door already waiting for us.
