Josephine’s POV
“Josy, where have you been? I’ve been trying to reach you for days!”
My best friend Olivia was screeching in my ear and I smiled. Olivia and I couldn’t be any more different, but for some way it worked out, for 15 years already.
“Well, I have been working and at home, nothing else, I told you about the bodyguard right? Leaves me not much room to move around”
It had been two weeks since Zack had moved in and we reached some kind of understanding between us. He left me alone as much as possible, and I tried not to be a pain in the ass, as he called it, so much. I looked at him, sitting just outside my office, reading something on his phone, looking up and around every few minutes.
“Is he hot?” it took me a few seconds to really register what my friend was saying
“LIV! He is my bodyguard!”
“So? Is he? I don’t get how the one thing would exclude the other”
I thought of all the dreams I was having lately. I was slowly going out of my mind of all the nightly escapes I had with Zack, with Matt, with both of them, there wasn’t one night where I was dreamless anymore and I woke up every morning, sweating and wondering what the hell happened. I sighed.
“HE IS! I’m coming over tonight, I need to meet that watchdog of yours. Maybe he can make you forget Julian for a bit!”
“I’m not even thinking about Julian anymore, he was an ass”
“But he was kinda right about a few things, sweetie” Olivia tried carefully
“I know, it’s just… I don’t know how to be anything else anymore, you know?”
A comfortable silence fell between us and I enjoyed the knowledge of my best friend being on the other end of the line, she kept me sane most of the time.

“Liv? I want to tell you something, but you have to promise you won’t laugh”
I heard her giggle a little
“You know when people start their sentence with that, it is probably something really funny? I can’t promise you that, Josy, you know I won’t laugh at you, just with you” I could hear the smile on her face.
“I dreamt about Zack, like… the adult version of dreams”
My best friend did laugh “That’s a first for you!”
“It gets worse…..”
“What?! You are completely satisfied when you wake up?” she smirked
“Okay, that’s it, I’m hanging up!”
“Ah come on, there is nothing to be embarrassed about, tell me”
“I met his boss too, Matt, and well… he is in my dreams too… I’m going crazy Liv, I don’t know what’s happening. They are tattooed and rude and totally not my type, why am I dreaming about them? I’m going crazy! Seriously crazy!”
Olivia laughed lightly and then spoke with her calming voice
“Jose, calm down, you are just experiencing something most women experience a lot of times, you are attracted to a bad boy…. We all did it, one more than the other, there is nothing wrong with it… Just enjoy while it lasts”
“I think it’s stress, work is busy, my dad sort of disappeared, it must be the stress. That is why I had planned something. You know that meeting I have in Hawaii in a few days? My schedule is open for a week after that and the things I have to do, don’t have to be done at the office, so I thought I could take a little holiday. Do you want to come?”
“Sure thing hun! It’s sun, beach and beautiful men, what more could I possible want?”

“Great, I will book the hotel and ticket, for you too, just bring your suitcase and you and we will be fine. Only one thing for me left to arrange”
“What?” Olivia asked curiously
“I need to get rid of Zack”

Jacky’s POV
It had been days since Brian and I really talked to each other, since I sneaked out on him, which wasn’t really a sneaking out.
I would rather called it, him not paying attention. Since I had heard him talking on his phone and knew he would be occupied I went out and well, did what I always did, but him afterwards accusing me of whoring around, what the hell?
First of all it’s none of his fucking business, what I am doing and with whom…

And why would it interest him at all, did he feel hurt in his manly pride or something?
Ass, that’s what he is and even worse, why did it interest me if he thought of me like that?
I shouldn’t care… ah I was getting crazy sitting in my room all day and night long.
I did all I could, doing online shopping and getting some work done on my laptop, but enough is enough.

Brian was watching me these past days or rather week, never leaving me out of his sight.
And for some strange reason, it kind of turned me on, knowing his eyes were on me, but again a big turn off was that he watched me, but never made a move, never touched me, whenever we stood near each other he avoided each and every skin contact and tried not to look me in the eyes.
He was treating me like I was toxic and I hated that. He made me uncomfortable and that’s why I planned a night of my own.
I needed to get away from him, from him and his weird behavior.

I grabbed my phone and called one of my friends, it was time to meet them again, they would notice my absence in the party life.
I had to catch up again.
“Hey Jacky, long time no see… Where have you been?” Liza voice sounded from the other line, we weren’t really that close, but a friend.. I needed a friend now.
I had even thought about calling Dean, but I had to do a some making up for the last times we saw each other, so I couldn’t ask him for another favor right away, even though he was my closest friend.
“Don’t ask me Liza. I need some partying, been home way too long, the walls are closing in on me already.” I told her and she chuckled.
“Sounds desperate, wanna tell me what’s going on there? Heard you are having a shadow, is he your new boyfriend, not letting you get out of bed or what?” Liza asked and rolled my eyes.
“Wish it were like that, more the opposite. But not letting me out of the house. Anyway, I need some party tonight. Are you game?” I asked and hoped she would agree and help me.
“Sure, sweetie. So when and where?” Liza asked and I sighed.
“Well, as soon as possible. Where? Shit, I need to go somewhere we haven’t been lately, something not so obvious. You got an idea?” I asked and tried to think of a good location.
“Well… we haven’t been to lately… hm… what about this cute little club in downtown. What was its name… wait.. hm.. Deep.. no that’s not it… Dark.. Yes, you remember Dark Corner, they got this new management, heard it is really good. So what do you say?” Liza asked and sounded excited.
“Sounds like a plan to me, are you calling the others? I want everyone there… I need my friends around me. I need a freaking night off, a night just for me.”
“Sure thing, sweetie. I will set everything up, we will meet there at 9?” She asked and I couldn’t wait to meet all my friends again, have been away for way too long, I smiled and replied.
“Perfect… oh but there is still one thing for me left to do… Getting rid of Brian”

Zack’s POV
My bag was almost packed and I threw in the last few things I would need for the trip Josephine and I were making to Vancouver. The last few weeks, this job had gone better and better. We had reached a certain level of understanding and we were getting along. No more fights, no more discussion, I kept my distance and she kept me close. This might sound weird, but that was how this was working out, so I was happy.

I talked to Brian a lot and he had a hard time staying away from Jacky. After that time she fled away from him, he had his eye on her, and that was also his Achilles heel. For now he had been able to keep his hands to himself, but I was wondering how long it would take for him to give in again. I knew my friend and this was certainly not easy for him. He had to be professional and I guess he wouldn’t need me for that, so I was flying away for a few days.

The doorbell rang, announcing the driver that would take us to the airport. He got a hold of Josephine’s huge suitcase and took it with him to the car. Why did women had to take so much with them, I just didn’t understand. I put my bag next to the suitcase and waited for Josephine to come down with her laptop bag and a large handbag.. Even more stuff? I held the door open, and got in after her.

At the airport we were received by a dedicated stewardess, who took our luggage and told us she would make sure it would be checked in. We were waiting for our flight in the business lounge and enjoyed all the luxury served there. Josephine seemed happy and was all talkative to the people around her. I watched her closely and couldn’t help but smile. I had never seen her like this, but she was definitely more skilled at this than I had anticipated and for some reason, she looked beautiful now she was more relaxed. When they announced our flight, I held out my arm and she hooked hers in it.

“Do you mind if I site next to the aisle? You can take the window seat?” her voice was soft and friendly as she ushered me down the row and took a seat at the aisle herself.
“Are you flying often Zachary?”
“Yes, we have a lot of jobs for businessmen and they fly around the country a lot, but that’s probably no news for you” I smiled.
“That’s true, but I still get a little nervous every time I have to fly” Her voice was soft and shy and I had to comfort her, make sure she was okay, so I put my hand over hers
“It will be okay, I promise”
“Thank you Zachary, I have to get to the bathroom for a minute, I will be back before the plane leaves. Wouldn’t want to upset the cabin crew” She giggled a little and I watched her disappear behind the curtain. This job wasn’t too bad afterall, Josephine was nice and I didn’t mind going with her to this meeting. Maybe I could even try to take her out to dinner tonight, as friends of course, but it would be nice to relax a little.
I looked out of the window and saw the airport move away from us. Where was Josephine, she should get back to her seat, we were leaving. I moved around in my seat, trying to catch a glimpse of her behind the curtain. I decided to go and look where she was, and got up from my chair.

“Sir, you have to sit down and put on your seatbelt, we will take off in a minute”
“The woman I was with, she is in the bathroom, I should get her”
The stewardess looked at me confused.
“That woman has left the plane sir”

I looked at her baffled, she left the plane? She left the fucking plan?! NO! I couldn’t have lost her!

“Miss! I need to get off this plane, right now!”
“That won’t be possible sir, I’m sorry, you need to sit down now”

I sat down and put my head in my hands, FUCK, FUCK, FUCK! This was even worse than Brian with Jacky… I was soooooo screwed!
