Long May They Reign

While Brian was introducing Amelia to some potential suitors, Anastasiya snuck out side to one of the family garden's. She knew she couldn't go too far from the party, but she found the perfect little spot for her when she couldn't make it to the gazebo. She loved the garden's and the woods because her father would always tell her stories, and names each of the plants to her. It was where she found peace, where she feels connected to her father. The star's in the sky only illuminate the flowers and make them more beautiful than they already are. Another reason as to why she can't leave the sight, it's so breathtaking.
"How peculiar to find a young woman away from a party." Ana was startled, who else could possibly be in her garden, she has never been found before. She turned around to find a rather handsome young man, but something seemed off about it. The way he smirked and stood...it seemed almost evil. She immediately curtsied, if her sister found out she didn't greet a guest properly ..oh no.
"My apologies sir, and your name would be?"
"Matthew Sanders. Duke that is. There is no need to apologize to me, i find it interesting. So tell me, what is a young pretty face like you doing here?" He bowed and kissed her hand. Matthew Sanders? Strangely familiar name, though Ana never cared about the outside world, that was her sister's job.
"I never really enjoyed these parties after mother and father died."
"Princess Anastasiya otherwise known as Snow White. I believe i should be the one apologizing now."
"Oh no need to, you did nothing wrong." Ana was confused, why was he apologizing to her, let alone why is he not inside like everyone else.
"I refused to acknowledge who you were. There are not many encounters with you. You are like a mystery to the world. So this is where you go at every parties, that explains why no one ever sees you."
"I've never been accounted for. Even as a child. My sister and i were kept hidden until she became of age."
"Well that's a shame. The whole world should see that pretty face. Put those cocky ladies to shame." He gently brushed her cheek and she looked away.
"Such fraternizing could get us in trouble." She blushed and moved backwards.
"My apologies miss."
"Anastasiya. You can call me Anastasiya. I do not care about formalities, only Amelia does."
"Well she is Queen to be."
"That is why i do not care anymore. She is the one to be Queen, and i know she will succeed and be a great ruler so there is no need for me to even be here. She will carry out our parents name. I should be allowed to leave this cage. The castle brings me nothing but sorrow." Ana look back towards the moon as a tear trickled down her cheek. Matthew quickly took out his handkerchief to wipe her tear.
"Please do not cry. Your tears are much to beautiful to be wasted." This caused her to smile and chuckle. "People like us don't have the luxury of ever being free. We are limited. In some ways being royal isn't much better than being a peasant." Ana was shocked by the words coming out of his mouth, he was so much like her and held no fear of speaking his mind. She has finally found someone who understood what it was like. Before Ana could respond, her cousin shouted for Matthew.
"Mathew! So this is where you-" He stopped when he saw Ana there as ell. "So this is actually where you run off to." He pointed at Ana and she looked down ashamed. Matthew stepped up.
"Well it's just so beautiful and peaceful out here than inside with those vultures." Brain gave Sander's a stern look.
"Well why don't we all go inside. After all it is a party." Brian led Matthew inside and Ana followed. Sometimes Brian acted as if he were her father, she knew he was just protecting her, but no one could ever replace her father.
