Long May They Reign

Fall Ball

Today was the day of the Ball, the Fall ball that is to welcome the new season. Every year the King and Queen would hold seasonal balls as they loved parties and especially were festive people. Every year since they died the family had a planner to design the parties until the girls were old enough to make proper decisions.
"Miss Amelia, Sir Haner the second is here to see you." Said a muffled voice on the other side of the door.
"Allow him in." She yelled to the door and went back to doing her hair and makeup.
"Amelia, i searched through out the castle and i can't find your sister. The party starts soon and she must ready." He said as he took a seat in the chair and watched her do her hair.
"Oh Brian, you sound like my mother. Just give me a minute i have an idea as to her whereabouts." Several minutes later Brian followed Amelia out of her room and into the family garden. Just as she expected, Ana was sitting in the gazebo where she spent her last day with their parents. Their death his Ana the hardest, Amelia doesn't blame her after all she was the one who knew of the plan and was with them to the very end.Something she could never bring her heart to tell Ana, she knew that Ana would act irrationally and yell and Amelia that she could have stopped them. Amelia signaled Brian to stay back as she walked forward and laid a hand on her sister's shoulder. Ana silenced her talking and looked surprised when she saw her older sister there. Truthfully, Ana was talking to her parents and actually hope that was her mother that she could feel.
"I know Amelia. The party. I just wanted to tell them how fun it was going to be even though i know they can see it. When we were younger we would always talk about the party and all the greatness of it." Ana stood up and walked past Brian with her head down. Amelia could not say anything, she felt the same way but knew it was better to leaver her alone.
"Poor thing. Especially on this day." Brian sighed.
"There is nothing we can do. Let us hope that she can survive the party. Every year it is a struggle for her to get through."
The halls were beautifully decorated with colors of red, green, orange, and all the fall colors. There were pumpkins, leaves, acorns, just everything festive. The whole castle lit up and smelled liked pumpkin spice. Today Brian's friends were coming in as they used to do for every ball, but at every ball Amelia searches for someone fit to be her King but there is no one who could rule like her father. Hopefully this year will be different.
