It's almost easy...

We travelled a few more hours before we arrived at the destination. Roxy and the other techs have their production meeting so we offered to take Taylor while we went 'exploring'.

"You're coming with us princess." I told her and scooped her up from the floor.

"We're going on an adventure." Jimmy said from behind me as we bundled down the stairs and headed towards where the other bus is parked.

"What abouts Uncle Z?" She asked and I contemplated my answer.

"Uncle Z is sleeping munchkin. You can see him later okay?" I said and she nodded.

I really dunno what's up with him, but he got weird after Roxy told us her news. It could be something literally as simple as he is actually tired, but I know him better than that. To be honest, he’s been kinda weird since Roxy started working for us, not obviously so, but he always gets kinda grumpy when Jimmy talks about her…maybe he has a crush on her too? Oh, he is soooo getting a grilling when and if I can corner him later.

“What are you smirking at?” Shadows chuckled at me. We’re waiting for our security to come. Usually we don’t need them for any longer than when we’re around the venue, but if Taylor’s with us, they stay the whole time.

“Nothing. I think I might have figured out whats wrong with Z though.” I told him.

“What’s wrong with Z?”

“Not sure. He’s just been kinda weird and moody since Rox announced she’s pregnant.” I shrugged and then Taylor finally noticed who we’re standing with.

“Hai Uncle Matty!” She screeched and I flinched.

“My goodness! Hi princess. What’s with the screeching?” he chuckled.

“Sowwy. I ‘cited.” she giggled.

“You like going on adventures with us better than being stuck with mommy huh?” I chuckled and she nodded.

“Yessum. Staying with Mommy is booooooooring.” she giggled.

Eventually our security guys came, and we all headed off for a wander around the town we’d stopped in. We got some ice cream, and even found a playground for Taylor, and Jimmy and Johnny, to play on, until we decided we should probably head back so we weren’t late for sound check.

While they were doing Jimmy’s levels, I cornered Zacky.

“Dude, what’s up with you?” I asked him and his eyes went wide. Bingo.

“What do you mean what’s up with me? Nothings up with me.” he said all too quickly.

“You’re backing yourself into a corner Z, you’ve been moody since Roxy told you guys she’s pregnant to Jimmy. What’s. Up?” I re iterated with a couple of pokes to his shoulder.

He sighed. “Promise not to tell anyone?” he muttered and honestly, when did he turn into a shy 13 year old?

“Yes. I promise. Tell me, go.” I said and waited for him to spill.

“It sounds really freaking stupid, but I’m jealous of Jimmy.” he started and nudged his head towards the man in question. He didn’t say anything else straight away, so I urged him to go on. “I’ve had this pretty ridiculous crush on Roxy since she started working for us, and when she told me she's having his baby, my heart just dropped. It means I can never have her.” he told me and I frowned even though I’m internally smirking.

“It doesn’t mean you can never have her dude. It just means you might have to wait for a while. Just because she’s having his baby, doesn’t mean they’re gonna end up together y’know?” I told him and slung an arm around his shoulders. “Just promise me to perk up a bit? You didn’t have to live with her last time she was pregnant. She gets moody as fuck when she’s hormonal.” I said and he chuckled from next to me.

“Ok deal.” He muttered and we headed back to everyone else. Taylor is waving at us from Jimmy’s riser and Zacky grinned and waved back. “Having fun princess?” he asked her and she nodded.

“What are you smirking at?” I heard someone say and turned to be faced with Roxy, one of my guitars in her hands.

“Nothing at all.” I grinned and winked at her as she disappeared behind me to adjust the mic pack on my back.

“You’re a shithead.” she giggled. “You’re up to something and I will find out about it.” she threatened and then went to get Z’s guitar.
