It's almost easy...

“James!” I yelled and it snapped him out of his thoughts. I frowned up at him from the bed. He’s literally been staring into space the whole time. “Are you actually going to pay attention, or are you going to stare into space?” I grumbled at him.

“I’m sorry.” he mumbled and looked like he was going to pay more attention.

I’m hooked up to a bunch of machines, and my legs are open wider than when he did this to me. There’s a doctor prodding around my nether region and nurses bustling all over the freaking place.

The doctor’s mumbling to herself, and I can feel another contraction coming. I grunted and tried to breathe, and reached out blindly to grab for and squeeze Jimmy’s hand. I couldn’t find it, and when I looked up, he’s staring into space…again! Oh boy…if he can’t be even slightly ‘with it’ for this and be there to offer even a tiny shred of support for me, he can leave, and he can not come back. “James! So help me god…if you don’t man the fuck up right now and support me while I’m trying to push a watermelon sized object through an opening the size of a lemon, otherwise known as your child, you can leave!” I snapped.

He looked at me blankly for a second and then practically bolted from the room without saying a word.

Oh you have to be kidding me!...

I panted through the rest of the contraction and when I could breathe again I burst into tears.

“I can’t believe he left!” I wailed and one of the nurses came to console me.

“I’m sorry honey. Can we get another one of those handsome men to come in here for you?” she cooed and I nodded.

“Um. Brian…get Brian please.” I muttered. If I can’t have daddy, may as well get god daddy I guess.

“Sit tight. We’ll bring him in a minute.” she told me and left.

I tried to get myself back into some sort of control before Brian comes. I can’t believe Jimmy walked out. He’s basically just fucked any chance he had with me for the foreseeable future.

“Roxy? What happened? Where’d Jimmy go?” Brian asked when he followed after the nurse into the room. They must not have told him what happened.

“He ran out. I don’t even know why I thought he’d step up.” I snapped but it turned into a whine.

“Oh honey. I’m sorry.” he soothed and came to the bedside almost straight away to hold my hand.

“Why couldn’t he do this? Why?” I whined when I looked down at our hands and started crying again.

“Sweetie shhh. Forget about him, you have my god child to deliver.” he cooed at me and kissed my hand.

“I do huh?” I sighed.

“Yeah, you do.” he chuckled and then winced coz I squeezed his hand. The pain’s back…“Breathe honey.” he muttered and I tried to do as I was told.

“Fuck. B, it hurts…” I panted. Why is this child deciding now is the time to be a demon spawn? Why?!

“I bet it does sweetie, but just think of the end result…you’ll have a completely adorable baby to hold in your arms.” He told me and I awwed.

“Are you getting clucky B?” I teased and he half heartedly swatted at me.

“Shush you.” He grinned.

I sighed loudly and kinda settled into the swing of things. They came and gave me some painkillers after a little while and B found it extremely amusing how happy I got. The doctor came and went a few times…but eventually my contractions were 30 seconds apart and it was show time.

“Oooooooh my Godddd!” I groaned and squeezed the life out of Brian’s hand, I hope I haven’t hurt him too much. “I hate him. I hate him. I hate him. I hate him!” I chanted a few times and flopped back on to the pillows behind me.

“I know you do, but you’re so very close sweetie. You’re almost there.” he cooed at me and freed his hand for a second to shake some feeling back into it.

“Oh, I fucking hope so.” I panted and waited for the next one to hit. I need to push.
“You’re fully dilated, so you can push whenever you’re ready.” the doctor said from between my legs and I sighed. Brian weaved his fingers back in between mine and I was grunting, and screaming and pushing, and Brian was cheerleading from next to me and…

“I can’t do it!!!” I wailed and took a gigantic breath. “I can’t…I can’t do it.” I added.

“Roxy, look at me.” Brian said from beside me and I looked over to him tearily. “You can do this.” he told me very seriously. “You’re stronger than you think sweetheart.” he told me and I started crying again. “Sweetie, don’t cry. I know it sucks that Jimmy left, but you can do this without him. I promise.” He told me and I was in the middle of nodding when another contraction hit, I pushed as hard as I could and hoped I didn’t feel something tear.

“Alright, you’re crowning. Let’s get this first baby introduced.” the doctor said and I choked off my crying pretty abruptly.

“I’m sorry what?!” I sputtered.
