When the alarm went off the next morning Brian reached over me and turned it off then pulled me close to him and kissed my neck a little which made me smile ‘I love you’ ‘I love you too baby girl’ he whispered, I smiled more and turned over onto my back to look up at him ‘you feel better today?’ ‘Can I answer that after the appointment?’ I asked and he nodded a little and kissed me, I kissed back then looked at the clock to see it was 7:30 ‘we have to leave at 8:30’ I said and he nodded then let me up so I could start getting ready, which I did but I didn’t really do anything fancy. I just brushed my teeth, combed out my hair and put lotion on my face then I walked back into the room and over to the closet figuring I better wear a shirt because I’d be getting a sonogram but I might also have to get an internal sonogram so I’ll wear a skirt to just in case. So, I put on a black long sleeve shirt, black and red skirt, and black and red heels. I walked back into the room and saw that Brian was just finishing up his hair

‘You know you take longer on your hair then I do’ I said and he just rolled his eyes then came over and kissed me, I kissed back then grabbed my bag and we headed downstairs and outside ‘you wanna stop for coffee?’ ‘I can't have coffee anymore’ I said and he just looked at me wide eyed so I nodded ‘yeah, it’s sad’ ‘ok, what about hot chocolate?’ ‘I think that’s ok’ ‘ok great, let’s stop at dunkin doughnuts’ he said as he backed out of the drive way, I nodded and that’s where we headed and we just did the drive through then headed to the doctor. I made sure we were 20 minutes early because I have to give all my information, when we walked in I told him could go sit so he did and I walked up to the counter ‘can I help you?’ ‘Yeah I have my first appointment at 9’ I said and the lady nodded, typed some things then asked for all my information so I gave it then went to sit down five minutes later. I leaned against Brian and crossed my legs right over left,

I felt him lay his head on my head as he set his hand on my thigh ‘Echo?’ I heard and looked up at the nurse then Brian and I stood up and headed into the back. I sat on the little bed thing and watched as she took my BP and pulse ‘ok, the doctor with be in shortly’ she said then left. I sighed and kicked my legs then heard a knock on the door and an older man entered and smiled big at me, I smiled back ‘hi I'm Dr. Thomas, you are?’ ‘I'm Echo and this is my boyfriend Brian’ I said as I pointed to him, they shook hands then Dr. Thomas sat down and looked over my chart ‘ok since you are six weeks we don’t have to do an internal ultrasound’ ‘thank god’ I said and he laughed a little ‘now, have you ever been pregnant before?’ he asked and I looked over at Brian, he just nodded a little ‘yes but, I miscarried both’ ‘oh, I'm sorry’ he said and I nodded a little

‘Well, you're at a high risk then and you won’t be completely out of the woods until you're 14 weeks but let’s not think about that, only happy thoughts now if you wanna lay back we’ll take your first ultrasound’ he said and I nodded then did so and Brian can up beside me and held my hand after I pulled my shirt up. Dr. Thomas stuck some paper towel thing inside my skirt then put the gel on me making me shiver a little ‘sorry should’ve warned you it was cold’ he said and I just nodded then looked at the screen when he started moving the wand around ‘ok here’ he said and pointed to a little blob thing ‘that’s the baby?’ Brian asked and he nodded a little then zoomed in ‘here are the little arms and legs starting to form, we won’t be able to hear the heartbeat until you're 8 weeks though’ ‘ok’ I nodded, he nodded back then printed out the picture and handed it to me and explained all the things I could and couldn’t do and since I was at a higher risk of miscarriage,

I wasn’t allowed to play my electric guitar because of the pressure it would put on my tummy and he didn’t want me lifting anything heavier than a gallon of milk and after making another appointment for 8 weeks we left and went home but didn’t really do anything the rest of the day. As we were getting ready for bed I put on a little night dress then crawled in next to Brian and he laid his head on my tummy so I put my hand on his face and smiled down at him ‘so, you're ok with not having sex until I know I'm in the clear?’ I asked and he nodded with a little smile, I smiled back and ran my fingers through his hair which made him fall asleep and I just stayed up and thought about things. I was really hoping to keep this baby, I loved Brian and I just want to be able to be happy for the rest of my life and not completely scared to turn every corner. But, I really didn’t want to worry about it so I closed my eyes and tried to sleep.

Ok so, 8 weeks finally and Brian and I were at the doctors waiting to be called back. I was just wearing leggings, a sweater and low top converses. We were finally called back and the doctor didn’t take too long to come back ‘hello hello, how are you feeling?’ ‘Good’ I nodded, he nodded back and asked some more questions then had me lay back ‘ok, 8 weeks, now we get to hear the heartbeat’ Dr. Thomas said, I just smiled and laid back after pulling my sweater up and Brian gripped my hand tightly, I knew he was just as nervous as I was as the gel was put on my tummy then he started moving the wand around ‘where are you’ he said in a little sing song voice then we started to hear a thumping ‘ah! Found it!’ he said happily and I started to tear up as I looked over at Brian, he smiled and kissed my forehead softly ‘alright well it’s definitely there so let’s get this picture printed ‘when do we find out the gender?’ I asked as he handed over the picture then wrote something’s down on the clip bored

‘You’ll know at 18 weeks but usually we wait until 20 because then we can really tell without having to really guess’ he said and we nodded then got up and headed out after saying good bye and we also made an appointment for 14 weeks so about a month and a half away then we headed home ‘so, when are we telling the guys?’ Brian asked once we were home and sitting on the couch. I sighed a little and looked up at him as he stood in front of me ‘I really don’t want to say anything until the next appointment, I'm still scared I'm gonna lose it’ I whispered as I laid my hands on my tummy, he sighed and kneeled in front of me ‘listen to me, you're not going to lose this baby because you're not in the situation that you were in before’ ‘I know but I'm still scared, what happens if I trip or someone runs into me’ ‘I’ll protect you’ he whispered as he laid his hand on my face, I smiled and leaned my face into his hand some more.

‘Can we go out to dinner then?’ I asked and he nodded happily, I laughed a little then pulled my phone outta my bag and texted all the guys telling them that then and their women were meeting Brian and I for dinner at Ruby Tuesdays. They all agreed and I saw that it was already past three so we headed up to get ready and I put on makeup and pulled my hair up into a bun then pulled on a dress with heeled booties then just switched my wallet over and grabbed my phone. Brian and I walked back downstairs and I grabbed the sonogram I got today and put it in my wallet then we headed out and we were the first to get there so we got a big table and waited ‘ugh I'm soooo hungry’ I pouted and Brian laughed a little ‘why don’t we order an appetizer while we wait?’ ‘Okie dokie’ I smiled, he just shook his head at me and opened up the menu and we decided on bacon and cheese potato wedges and they came out shortly and once we had finished those everyone else showed up and we started to order.

Once our food got there, after half an hour, we all started digging in ‘ok, what's with the spontaneous dinner?’ Val asked and I looked over at Brian, he nodded and I cleared my throat a little and took a sip of water ‘I'm pregnant’ I said softly and they all smiled ‘how far along are you?’ ‘8 weeks, here’ I said as I opened my wallet and handed Val the picture ‘awww! But, why’d you wait to tell us?’ she asked but I just bit my lip a little ‘just, thought I should’ I said and they seemed satisfied with my answer so they started passing the picture around and that’s all we talked about the rest of dinner.
