Previously

Elliot just nodded her head and enjoyed the night as everyone passed around the guitar. The night full of singing, fucked up guitar chords and laughter.

Now

Elliot and Arin were walking around school hand in hand. People got used to it after a few weeks but still gave her looks, after all there were rumours going around. Addie ran up to Elliot and squealed.

“I have three tickets to go and see Pantera!”

“Really?” both Arin and Elliot exclaimed.

Addie nodded her head and looked at the two of them.

“You both wanna come?”

“Hell yeah,” Arin said nodding his head.

Addie looked over at Elliot and saw the sadness in her eyes.

“I can’t. I’m grounded until 1st January 2003.”

“Oh c’mon, is it because of Leana?”

“Sort of. When is the concert?”

“Two weeks.”

“You two go without me, I’ll be fine.”

“El, we’re not going without you,” Addie said.

“But-”

“You’re coming. And the way is, that you climb out of your window and climb down the pipe. Sleeping arrangements is either my place or Arin’s, unless you want to risk going back to your’s?”

“That’s a smart plan,” Elliot said.

“I know.” Addie agreed. The three of them laughed. The bell went and Arin kissed Elliot on the check before running off to class. Elliot said bye to Addie and walked to Statistics.

The rest of the day was a bore to Elliot. At lunch she and Addie went outside and walked around. The last three lessons also went fast for her. She was waiting at the front of the school for one of the boys to pick her up.

Arin kissed her and walked home with Addie, knowing that the guys wouldn’t like it if she stayed. Zacky pulled up and pressed his car horn. She smiled at him and they both drove to the studio together.

“We’re all grateful for you doing this, you know?” Zacky said as he pulled up.

“I know,” Elliot said as she walked into the building. She kept on walking and found the room that all the guys were in.

Matt hugged his sister and explained everything to her. She nodded her head and walked into the sound room. She put the head phones and looked trough the window. Matt put his thumbs up and Elliot screamed.

“Yeah, that was fucking awesome!” she heard Brian say through the headphones.

Elliot walked out of the sound room and into the control room. Matt played it back to her and she had a grin on her face.

“Your seriously gonna put me on the track?”

“Yeah, that was amazing.” Matt said as he grabbed Brian guitar. “You can either stay here or ask Mom to pick you up.”

“I’ll stay here,” Matt and the guys nodded their heads and carried on what they were doing.

“So I was thinking that if we did two ‘I Won’t See You Tonight’s.” Matt said while looking at the guys. They all nodded their head and talked about how they were going to do it.

“Hey, can I read the lyrics?” Elliot asked.

Brian handed them over to her and went into the sound room. She put the headphones back on.

“Which song is gonna be the heavier one?” Elliot asked.

“Part Two,” Jimmy said.

Elliot nodded her head and read the lyrics.

“Have you guys done the instruments on this yet?”

“Yeah, we just need to improve the lyrics.” Zacky said.

“Just play it,” Elliot said. “And tell me when to sing.”

Everyone nodded their head and Elliot looked up at the guys. She heard the music and waited.
While she waited she heard the instruments through the headphones and swayed softly. She kept on looking at the guys and held the lyrics in front of her face. Once she got a nod from
Matt she started to sing.

Elliot finished singing and looked up at all the guys. They were all smiling and clapping. She took the headphones off and walked back to the control room.

“That was fucking rad!” Matt shouted as she walked back in.

The producer played it back and she heard herself sing. She knew that Matt wanted a bit off shouting/screaming on this song, so she did exactly that. Once the song was done everyone capped again.

“Once we get home we are showing Mom and Dad this,” Matt said as he was getting the recording on a flash drive. Elliot blushed at all the attention and looked through more lyrics.
