Dancing Girl

Brian POV

I was surprised when I realised that Katelyn was calling me. I didn’t expect her to call me so soon. As I’m about to tell her a usual smart remark as I answer her call, I notice that she was crying and addressed me as Nina…she called me by mistake. I couldn’t understand everything she was saying, she was crying and seemed agitated. But from what I could understand, she was in pain and needed help.

After some persuasion, she gave me her address. I got in my car, started the engine and sped to her house. What happened to her? How was she in so much pain? And then my mind clicked: maybe it was that douchebag of a boyfriend, Rick. It better not be him or else I’ll twist his fucking neck.

Once I arrived to her house, I park the car by the side and ran as quickly as I could to her house. After a couple of seconds the door opens and I was left speechless by the figure that was standing in front of me. Standing in front of me was a fragile woman, hands on her ribs, fresh bruise on her head, barely looking at me crying while staring at the floor.

“Katelyn what happened to you?” I ask worryingly, going by her side to support her body.
“Rick…my boyfriend…he was…” I trail her off
“WHAT?! He did all this to you?! Where the fuck is he?!” I feel anger going around my body as I get into her house to see if he’s there. "Katelyn where is he?!"
“Wait Brian…he’s not here..he already left. Listen, you cannot stay here, you have to go, now. If he comes back and sees you here, he’ll kill you without any hesitation” she looks in my eyes while saying so, looking all concerned.
“I’m not leaving you here. Listen to me, sit down on the couch, I’ll pack some of your things and we’ll leave from here very soon”
“Where am I going to stay?” She asks shyly. How could he do this to her?
“You are going to stay in my place for now. You don’t have to worry”
“I barely even know you…how should I trust you?!” she asks with wide eyes open.
I crouch in front of her, putting one of my hands on top of hers and the other lifting her chin to face me, “You can trust me, I promise! I’m not going to hurt you, you’re going to be safe with me”.

After I packed some of her belongings, I grab Katelyn and we leave her house. I help her get into the car, and I couldn’t help but hear her whimper while she was trying to get in. She is in so much pain. I didn’t speed so as to not worry her and to try and calm her down. We didn’t exchange one word during the whole ride, whenever I eyed her she was looking outside the window, silently tearing up. I felt so sorry for her.

When we arrived at my home, I put her stuff down. “Do you want something to drink?”
“A warm cup of tea would be nice now, thanks”, she says as she sits down on a stool watching me preparing her drink.
“So, once you finish your drink we can go to my bedroom and…”
“I bet you didn’t think you’ll get me to your bed this soon, huh?” she says, looking at me with a small smile on her face.

I stare at her for a bit, glad she’s joking a little bit and reply, “Yeah, you got me. But if I’m being totally honest, I was hoping for better circumstances”.
I give Katelyn her drink and ask her, “How did you call me?”
“I guess when I switched off the mobile I left your number there. And I just called the first number that was there, didn’t check whose number it was”.

We stayed in the kitchen talking for a while, when I saw her yawning.
“Let’s get you to bed beautiful”. She blushed at this remark, which surprises me. “Why so shy?”
“I’m not used for such remarks outside of work.”

I grab her things and we head to my bedroom quietly. I can’t help but think how a person can treat his significant other that way. I’ve barely been in any relationships, I prefer having no strings attached with a girl. But whenever I was in a relationship, I treated them with love, I would have never thought of hitting the girl.

I open her suitcase to bring out come clothes to sleep in. Shit, I forgot to put them in. She laughs when she realises, “You did that on purpose, right brown eyes?”
I laugh with her as I bring her one of my shirts.
“Here you can wear this, I’m sure it’ll suit you fine. You can go to the bathroom to change if you want or I leave, you choose”.

She grabbed my shirt and left to the bathroom. I sigh, sitting on the bed still thinking about everything that happened this night when she comes out still wearing her clothes. She looked at me while blushing, “I need you to help me to get rid of my shirt. I can’t really lift my hand”.

I nod and lift her shirt up. She stands there in front of me with just her bra on when I notice the big black bruise on her ribs. I can’t move my eyes away, as I softly trail my fingers on top of the bruise. This made her shiver. I move in slowly and kiss her lightly on it, making her gasp.
“Sorry, did I hurt you?”
“No, no you didn’t. It’s just that I wasn’t expecting that”.

I get up, grab my shirt from her hands and put it over her head to dress her up. While I was doing so I couldn’t help but look at those perfect lips of hers. I was longing to kiss her. But not today. I can’t make this about me. So I stepped backwards looking at the opposite direction while she continued getting dressed.

When she was ready from the bathroom, I went in myself. While brushing my teeth I looked for her and realized she was already in bed, in the fetal position. I could stare at her all night long and won’t get bored doing go. How Rick is able to lift his hands and abuses her? I can’t figure it out, but to conclude that he’s one son of a bitch who will get what he deserves…one day. That day I’m sure it’ll come, and it will come soon.

Once I go to bed I could smell her rosary smell..hmmm so nice. I rearranged myself under the blankets as she moves to face me and pulled her body into me. I hold her close to me, hold her tight. She’s safe with me. Sleep tight.

Brian got Katelyn with him! :D What is he going to do? Is he going to tell anyone? Is he going to find Rick by himself?
