Brian POV

I do understand that Katelyn is a closer friend with Nina than with me, but it kills me whenever I hear that she had sent a text to Nina whereas she doesn’t reply any of mine. Fuck, for sure she’s a woman who keeps her word: she only picks up my phone call once a week. It’s driving me crazy.

Right now I just heard Nina saying that Katelyn is missing us. I’m furious at this idea, why don’t she come back if she’s missing us? Why is she staying there, away from us? Madly, I grab my guitar and beer, head near the pool and stay there, writing new riffs for us. It’s the only way I stay calm. It’s the only thing that have made me feel a bit better since Katelyn took off, the only thing keeping me sane.

As I’m practicing some new riffs on my guitar I hear the door bell ringing. I look inside, at Matt and Nina. I’m not expecting anyone, none of us are. Who could possibly be at my front door? I recognize Nina’s expression, she seems astonished, excited, and goes running towards the door. No, it can’t be. I put my guitar on the ground and stand up, standing still waiting for Nina to open the door. Could it be that my wish has been granted? Could it be that Katelyn came back?
Nina opens the door and I see two figures standing there. I feel the blood running through my veins, my fists close tightly, angrier than before, as soon as I recognize their faces. Alexandra and Andrew.

Hurriedly I storm inside, to face them, actually to face Alexandra.
“You have some nerve! What the fuck are you doing here?” I yell at her, Andrew holding me and pushing me backwards.
“What? I’m not allowed to come here with my friend?” she tells me, still smiling.
“No, this is my house. I’m not fucking letting you in! I swear!” I see Andrew lifting his hand in protest, so I turn to him. “I’m fucking serious cous! She fucking ruined everything to me. I told her I don’t want to see her”.
“Well, that’s not what you told me when we went out baby”, she says, acting all cool leaning on the wall.
“Jesus Christ!! Stop it already! There is nothing going on between the two of us!”
I notice someone is actually holding me, so I turn my face to see Matt by my side. All the others came behind me to see what’s actually going on.
Andrew steps forward, holding my shoulder. “Listen, we will go if that’s what you want. But first we need to show you something”.
“What is it?” I ask him coldly.

I see Alexandra pulling out an envelope from her bag and she hands it to me. It was addressed to her. Why is she giving it to me?
I look at her blankly. “This is addressed to you, why the fuck should I care about this?”.
“Wow you’re a genius one huh! Yes I know. Just open it, trust me. You’re going to love it”.
I hesitate for a second. I do not understand. “It has poison or something? That’s why you’re giving it to me?” I hear Zacky and Johnny laughing hard, and then they stop when I face them.

I go inside and open the envelope. I start reading it in my heart.

We just discovered that your name is Alexandra. And apparently you’re one of Brian’s pal.
We saw you heading to his place the other night.
Give this letter to Brian.
Brian, if you’re reading this, we want to tell you that we know that right now, Katelyn is out of town. She has no-one to protect her. Not you, not the huge one, not the short one, not the dorky one, not the serious one, not the brothers, not her best friend / stripper. No-one. You don’t know where she is, no? Well, too fucking bad for you pal! Because guess what, we know. We really know and have people following her around.
Just a sweet reminder that nothing is over yet.
Last but not least, Rick would like to send you his regards, and tells you that you’ll pay for this. All of you.

I can’t fucking believe this right now. I stare at the paper, holding it tightly. I feel someone coming beside me.
“What is it Brian?” tells me Matt, as he grabs the letter from my hands.
Furiously I turn and hurriedly move to Alexandra.
“Fucking your fault!! Your fault! If you hadn’t come to my house last time, she would still be here! I swear to God, if something happens to her, I’ll come and find you myself! I’ll fucking kill you!”
“Hey, it’s not fair blaming me. All I did was coming to your place. Nothing more. I didn’t know there’s this shit going on. Anyway, who sent the letter? Am I in trouble?”
I hear Nina gasps as she reads the letter with Matt. She turns around and comes to us. She slaps Alexandra hard on her face.
“You heard him…just fucking leave and leave him the fuck alone. And I can assure you that he won’t come finding you alone. I swear to God I’ll be the one standing by his side”, she says in her deepest voice, very slowly.
Andrew and Alexandra leave the house and I slam shut the door after them.

“Call her. Tell her to come back” I instruct to Nina, and she nods at my request.
We all wait for Katelyn to pick up, but she doesn’t.
“God! She’s so hard-headed!!!” I shout as I storm into the living room and sit on the couch. I start drinking some beer and everyone comes into the living room. Nina is still trying calling Katelyn. I notice Arin and Matt staring at each other worriedly and then speaking in each other’s ears.
“What is it with the two of you?” I ask them.
They both look at me, and then I see Matt nods at Arin. “So?”
“Well, you remember the day when we got to Rick’s apartment and saved Katelyn? When you and Katelyn were outside, Rick said something that only Matt and I heard”.
“What did he say Arin?” I tell him, putting my hands together, bringing them to my face. I have a gut feeling that I’m going to receive more bad news.
“He told us that…..fuck. He told us that it wasn’t over. He said that apparently he has a team working for him and if they didn’t hear from him, they had some tasks and jobs to do. Involving Katelyn. I think that they were the ones who wrote this letter” Arin says, scratching his head.
“So let me get this straight. You knew that Rick has a team working for him and you didn’t tell me?! What the fuck guys?! That ain’t cool!!” I shout, getting up from the couch.
“I thought that he was bluffing. You remember how he was talking, like he was a fucking god. Arin always suspected that it was true, from the beginning. So we decided not to tell you or Katelyn anything so that you won’t worry. We decided to look after her and make sure there was no-one following her or something” Matt explains.
“But still, not telling me?! That’s not cool! After what happened, you had to tell me. Now look what’s happened! They know she’s not with us! What if they really know where is she. What are we going to do? Let me answer this myself, NOTHING! Because we fucking don’t know where she’s at, and she’s not picking that damn phone of hers! We cannot warn her about this, and most probably she won’t believe us. She’ll think it’s simply a trick to make her come back to us. Tell me, what the hell are we going to do?!” I shout, looking at everybody.

Everybody is standing still, not saying anything. Nina is still calling Katelyn. No response. Pissed off I leave the room, go outside to grab my guitar and head back to my room. I lock the door after me. I blast the music full on, so I won’t hear the banging that Zacky is doing on my door. I start puffing a cigarette. With the cigarette between my lips, I grab a piece of paper and a pen and start scribbling some sentences on it. I’m writing what’s on my mind and without knowing how, it turned out to a song. I grab the guitar and start writing some riffs to go for the song.

Several hours passed and I feel calm enough to head out of my room. I grab the lyrics, the music notes and the guitar and go downstairs. I notice that everyone is in the living room, talking softly. They all look at me astonished when they see me inside the room.
“I just wrote this. This is going to be our new song.” I look at Johnny, “And I sure as hell wish that you like the riffs for this one short shit”.
I sit down, grabbing another beer. Nina came next to me and talks to me softly in my ear.
“Katelyn picked up the phone a couple of minutes ago. I told her everything. She told me she’s going to come soon but not now and she won’t come alone, just in case”.
“Did she tell you where she is?” I ask Nina. She shakes her head and I down more beer.
“Holy shit!” I hear Matt says. “This is some deep shit you wrote here Haner. We’ll use it for sure”.

So, they liked the song. Good. But Katelyn isn’t to come back now. So we’re still in the same shit as before. Perfect. Fucking perfect. I never thought that going on a date would lead to such troubles. Never.

Oh damn :/ The people at the door do not bring good news to Brian and the rest! Do you think it's true? Do you think Rick's pals are following Katelyn? What should they do? When will Katelyn come back to the guys?
