Fire Inside

When I finally finished I yawned and looked at the time to see it was almost 12 ‘shit’ I whispered tiredly and rubbed my eyes a little ‘hey’ I heard and I looked up to see Dan standing there ‘hey’ ‘you look tired’ ‘I didn’t realize it was almost 12’ I chuckled and he nodded then came and sat next to me, I showed him my drawing and he smiled ‘wow, you're amazing at this’ ‘thanks but I think I need more practice’ ‘nah I think you're great’ he said and I smiled then placed my book and pencils on the floor and leaned back against him like how I was doing this morning. ‘Wanna watch some tv with me for a bit?’ ‘Yeah sure’ I nodded and he turned on some American Dad, I grabbed a blanket that was on the end of the couch and cuddled into him as he wrapped his arm around me.

Now this morning instead of waking up to coffee, I woke up to yelling. I opened my eyes and saw my dad fuming ‘what happened?’ I asked as I sat up on the back couch ‘shut the fuck up!’ he screamed at me and I just looked at him wide eyed and stayed quiet, he walked off the bus and slammed the door, I looked up at the guys and they looked like they didn’t know what to say ‘what did I do?’ I asked and Dan walked over to me and sat next to me ‘we fell asleep together last night and he thinks something else happened’ ‘but nothing happened’ ‘I know, he won’t listen to me’ Dan said and I nodded then stood up and walked out of the bus.

I looked around and saw dad talking to someone so I walked over and set my hand on his shoulder, he turned and looked down at me ‘I don’t even want to look at you right now’ he said darkly then turned around ‘then don’t fucking look at me but you're gonna fucking listen’ I said just as darkly which made him turn to look at me ‘nothing happened last night, you're just being an asshole. We fell the fuck asleep now get the fuck over it’ I said as I crossed my arms under my chest ‘how do I know that’s what really fucking happened?’ ‘What you don’t trust your own fucking daughter? Some father you are’ I said heatedly then turned to walk away but he grabbed my arm

‘I'm sorry, I do trust you’ he said softly and I sighed ‘you know nothing would happen, we’ve gone over this’ ‘I know, you're just growing up and it’s scary’ ‘but I’ll always be yours, you're my daddy’ I smiled and he smiled back then hugged me tight and lifted me up into his arms. I wrapped my arms and legs around him and smiled ‘now, I'm going to go get all sexy’ I giggled and he glared at me ‘jeez man take a joke’ I smiled and he smiled back then put me down and I started walking away ‘bring me coffee?’ he called after me ‘no’ I called back then walked back on the bus.

‘Everything’s fixed’ I smiled and they all nodded, I pulled Dan into the back and shut the door ‘so am I off the hook?’ ‘of course, I told him we just fell asleep and he’s fine now’ ‘thank you thank you thank you!’ he said excitedly as he picked me up and spun me around, I giggled and wrapped around him so I didn’t fall ‘you're very welcome’ I smiled and he smiled back then leaned up to kiss my cheek, I kissed his back then he set me on my feet ‘but, just because I’m curious’ I started and he raised an eyebrow at me, I put my hands on his face and pulled him down to me and kissed him. He kissed back after a few seconds and set his hands on my hips gently, I pulled away and smiled at him ‘wow’ he whispered and I smirked ‘don’t tell’ I whispered back and he nodded, I kissed him once more then walked away to get dressed for the day.

‘Yo pops!’ I yelled while I was doing my makeup in the bathroom ‘what!?’ ‘Come here!’ I yelled again and I heard him walk over ‘what?’ ‘I love you’ I smiled all cheesy at him and he rolled his eyes ‘is that all you wanted?’ ‘No actually, am I singing with you again tonight?’ ‘If you wanna’ ‘can we do Believe together?’ ‘Yeah sure’ he smiled and I nodded then finished up my mascara and walked to the couch with him. We were all waiting to go to sound check and this time I’d be going with them and we’d be staying in the back room until the concert started so I made sure to grab everything I may need.
