Two Worlds

Haunted By Thoughts

While we were taking a break from recording, I took the liberty in making sure everything with the paperwork and used Larry's fax machine to fax the documents to TESCH along with Jimmy's and just before we were about to leave from the studio my phone started ringing and it was the director o the children's home, Mr. Morris.

"Hello?" I said placing the phone to my ear.

"Good evening Mr. Sanders. I was just calling to inform you that I have reviewed the paperwork you faxed over and all I need to know is who is coming to pick these young girls up?"

"Oh I meant to attach a personal letter to you about that but since you called there's no need. Anyways, some friends of ours are going to be bringing Violet, Brandy, and Kalico to my home. Their names are Jason and Matt Berry. I asked them about it beforehand and they agreed. They'll be leaving the day after tomorrow to pick them up." I explained as I got into my car.

"Thank you Mr. Sanders but I got to tell you that I can't believe you and Mr. Sullivan are going to be fostering these 3 girls."

"Why do you say that?" I asked curiously.

"Most of the potential foster parents that check out these girls turn their backs after seeing their file. I'm very surprised that you didn't."

"Is there something that I need to know Mr. Morris?" I asked getting worried.

"Miss Young is a nice girl and she rarely gets into any altercations but Violet...she has a bit of a temper."

"Everyone has a temper Jackson." I said laughing lightly.

"Not like her. I mean we've given her extra attention with therapy group sessions but it seems like it doesn't help her at all. I have no idea why she's got so much built up anger for but God could only know."

"Has she done anything serious?" I asked as I started up the car.

"She's been in several fights and one just recently where we literally had to pull her off of a girl or she would have killed her. She didn't pull any weapons on her but she was wailing the hell out of the poor girl's face."

"Don't worry Mr. Morris. I've dealt with children worse with anger than what you have explained so I'm sure I can handle her." I said nodding even though he couldn't see me through the phone.

"If you say so Mr. Sanders. Anyways, I need to continue processing some other children that will be leaving soon and I know you're probably on the way home now. I'll call you in about a week to see how things are going."

"I'll be waiting for your call. Goodbye." I said and I hung up my phone and slipped it into the cupholder before backing out of the parking space. I will not give up on Violet or Brandy and I know that Jimmy will be patient with Kalico as well.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Violet's POV~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It's like a daily spasm in my brain when I wake up from a nightmare. That stupid bitch of a therapist thinks that they'll go awa one day but that's a bunch of horseshit. I looked over at the window and it was still dark as night out but this time I wasn't going back to sleep. This nightmare was worse than the other's I've had and my heart was beating almost out of my chest. I quietly got out of bed and grabbed my huge bag of sunflower seeds before leaving the room and closing it back into darkness. I made my way down the stairs making sure to skip the steps that creaked and I went out the doors of the building. The moon was full and it illuminated the grounds and the huge Oak tree where Brandy and I would meet Kali for our daily hangout. I sat down underneath the tree rubbing my arms as the night's chilly breeze brushed against my semi paled skin.
As I sat there underneath the shade from the moonlight, the thought of the dream came back to me. That psychopath had hit me not once with the hatchet but 6 times and I could feel the life being sucked from my body. The dream made me think about what was said in court.
"Has the jury reached a verdict?" the judge asked the jury member.
"We have your honor."
"How do you find the Defendant?" he asked once more. The jury member looked down at the paper he was holding before speaking.
"We find the defendant...Croc...on the 35 counts of third degree murder and the attempted murder of Violet Newman...guilty." The people who lost family members to this sadistic bastard gave applause to the jury but the judge banged the gavel making everyone quiet down before turning to Croc.
"Mr. Croc, you've been found guilty of the charges that were brought against you. I sentence you to 40 years in a maximum security facility with the possiblity of parole. Bailiff take him away." the judge said before leaving the courtroom.
No one was happy about the outcome of that verdict. I know that all those families wanted him to be sentenced to life in prison and given no parole possibility. That ruling was a bunch of bullshit if you ask me! How in the hell can you kill 35 people and almost kill a child and only get 40 fucking bullshit years?! What a fucked up Judicial system we have. I looked over at the ocean as the sun was coming up and I knew Kalico and Brandy would be coming out here in a few minutes and I think she would be surprised to see me up so early.
