Welcome To The Family

**Matt's POV**

I nervously fiddled with the ring box burning a hole in my pocket. "What if she says no?" I think to myself. Val and I have been together since school and I never had a doubt that she would be the girl I would want to spend the rest of my life with. Then why am I so nervous? I try and convince myself that I'm just worried that she won't accept my proposal but deep down I feel something else gnawing at me. I shake it off and knock on her front door.

"Coming!" I hear faintly through the door.

As the door slowly opens I see Val dressed in an amazing long sleeved white lace dress that comes to just above her knees and hugs her body in a way that makes my pants grow tighter by the minute.

"Hey handsome" she says with a smile and kisses my cheek. "I'll be ready in just a minute, I just have to find my other shoe" she laughs.

"Need a hand?" I offer in a sexy tone.

"Oh no mister, well will be late for dinner if I accept your 'help'" she chuckles and walks into the other room. "FOUND IT!" She screams as she reappears, hopping on one foot while trying to place the other shoe on her still bare foot. She loses her balance and I quickly move to catch her. She smiles back at me and I place a soft kiss on her lips while pulling her closer to my body.

I feel her smile against my lips because she can definitely feel something hard poking into her.

"Why Matthew, I'm glad my little show pleased you." She teases.

While I know that I am more than happy, that's not what was poking her. I was going to wait until dinner but my nerves are getting the best of me and I see the perfect opportunity laying on the ground at our feet.

"Here, let me." I say while bending down on one knee to pick up her shoe. She chuckles and places her foot up on my bent knee. I slide the shoe onto her foot and she places back on the ground and stares at me waiting for me to get up. Instead I slide my hand into my pocket and pull out the ring box and flash my famous dimpled smile up at her.

She he gasps and covers her mouth with her hands.

"Valary DiBenedetto, will you marry me? I ask hopefully.

She yanks my arm and pulls me to my feet while wrapping her arms around me. "Of course I will!" She cries.

I kiss her her and place the ring on her left hand as we make our way out the door. A huge weight is lifted off my shoulders but something still feels off. I shrug it off as I open the car door for my beautiful fiancée and she slides inside.

....fiancée, wow....that's going to take some getting used to.
