*~*Kamalei's POV*~*

I woke up to the sound of Bella's collar jingling as she jumped down from my bed and rushed out the door. I slowly turned over onto my back, looking up at the golden canopy over my bed. I rubbed my hands over my face as the room began to spin. I jumped up from the bed and ran to the bathroom in the hallway, just making it in time to empty last night's contents into the porcelain toilet bowl. Washing my face and hands, I looked in the mirror seeing my puffy red eyes from last night's cry fest. I didn't want to think about how my best friend had betrayed my trust but just looking at myself, the feeling of worthlessness came rushing back and I quickly made my way back to my bedroom.

Shutting the door behind me, I crawled back into bed facing the window, hugging Baby to my chest again as I started to cry again. I tried to be as quiet as possible as I heard footsteps coming closer to the door before a light knocking rang out.

“Lei? Baby girl? I brought you some water and something to eat.” Matt's raspy voice said as he opened the door carefully.

He set the food and water on the bedside table before sitting on the bed, gently rubbing my back.

“Thank you big brother.” I replied quietly, trying not to let him know I was all but bawling my eyes out.

“You're welcome. Are you okay? You sound like you've been crying...” he said as he leaned over my body to look at my face. “What's wrong Lei?”

“I'm fine. There's nothing you can do. I just have to get over it.” I said harshly, trying not to sound like the emotional mess I really was at the moment.

“You could let me try? I am your big brother and it's kind of my job to take care of things for you. Did something happen last night?” He asked and I felt sick to my stomach again thinking of Matthew.

“No. It's okay Matt.” I replied void of emotion.

“Did Matthew do something to you? I'll beat that little Baker into the ground.” Matt said and I could hear his anger rising.

“No Matt. Everything is fine.”

“Bullshit Lei.” he said before taking a deep breath, “You know what? When you're ready to tell me, I'm here okay?” He said calmly.

“Okay.”

“Drink some water, it'll help your headache. Eat some of the food too, since I heard you get rid of everything from yesterday. Come downstairs in a little bit and we can do something today.” He said curling over and hugging me in his big tattooed arms.

“Alright.” I said to make him happy.

He got up and left, closing the bedroom door behind him. I sat up slowly, grabbing the water and drinking it all in one go. It helped get rid of the awful taste of last night that still lingered in my mouth. Setting the glass down I noticed my phone blinking from a missed call on the nightstand.

One missed call: 'Zacky Boy'

Of course that asshole would call.

I saw that he left a voicemail and I contemplated listening to it.

It's just a voicemail. He won't hear my response to it. He won't hear me cry at the sound of his voice...

I opened the voicemail, listening carefully.

“Hey, Lei, it's me Zacky. Look, I just wanted to talk to you. I talked to Matthew and I found out that you were right. I'm sorry I didn't believe you at first. I didn't think my brother would do something like that to you or anyone for that matter. I told Matthew to leave you alone or I'll kill him. If he calls you or anything just tell me and I'll take care of it.....”

There was a long pause and I waited to hear what he would say next.

“Lei, My Lei girl, I'm so sorry. I said some things that I didn't mean and I'm sorry. I did some things I shouldn't have and I'm sorry. I never meant to hurt you Lei. Sarah means nothing to me, physically or otherwise. You are my best friend and I don't want to lose you over a stupid mistake. I wasn't looking for anything from anyone else because you have all I want...”

I could hear him start sniffling, the sadness in his voice bringing me to my own tears.

“You mean the world to me, and I wish I could take all of it back. I know you are angry at me, and really you have every right to be, but I just hope you can forgive me. I'm so sorry Lei. I'm so so so sorry. Please just give me a call back, whenever, I don't care what time. I'm sorry Lei. I love you...”

I thought the message was over as I wiped my eyes, but then I heard a familiar voice.

“There you are... Lei said you were waiting for me...”

Sarah. Then Zacky again.

“Well, I'm not. I'm sorry it was a mistake what we did earlier...”

I smiled lightly at his answer to her.

“I don't think it was a mistake Zacky... she's not here so we could finish what we started...” Click.End of message.

I stared at my phone for a minute, not sure what to do or how to feel. He was turning her down, but honestly who knows what happened after the message ended.

He fucked her. Who am I kidding? Of course he fucked her. She was pretty and blonde, and throwing herself at him all night long.

My eyes welled up and I let my tears free-fall as I thought more about all of the things they probably did after the call ended. It hurt even more than the initial blow last night, my imagination running wild. I decided I couldn't take it anymore. I wiped my eyes so I could see the screen as I typed out a text back to him.

Don't talk to me. ~KLei

It hurt so much to text it to him, but I knew if I didn't I would be just setting myself up for more pain. I turned the ringer off and set my phone back on the table. I curled up in my bed, pulling the covers over me and rolled over crying myself back to sleep again.

*~*Zacky's POV*~*

I woke up the next morning, squinting as the sun shone through the curtains, instantly
regretting the amount of alcohol I had consumed last night. I felt Icky jump up from his spot at the end of the bed and covered my face before his stinky puppy breath had a chance to hit my nose. I pushed him away as I slowly sat up, feeling the wave of hangover nausea as soon as I was fully upright. I rushed to the bathroom throwing up copious amounts of alcohol. I washed my face and crawled back into bed, looking over at where my alarm clock should be.

Fuck. I need a new alarm clock, a TV, and a mirror. Dammit.

I reached over blindly and grabbed my phone off the bedside table, discovering a text message from Kamalei. I started to feel nervous as I thought about the message I left her last night. I told her she meant the world to me and that I loved her. This was her response. I opened the message after another deep breath.

Don't talk to me. ~KLei

I stared at the message in shock. I felt a pang in my chest, like I had been shot in the chest. I had poured my heart out to her and this was her response.

Maybe I should just give her some time. Maybe she will text me later... I shouldn't freak out...

I said it in my head, but I didn't even believe it myself. I got up from the bed and went back into the bathroom, grabbing my favorite Jack Daniel's shirt off the hook on the back of the door, smelling it deeply. I hadn't washed laundry yet since she wore it and I was happy to find it still smelled like her. I inhaled her sweet floral scent as I lay back on my bed, curling up with it, wishing she would call me. Icky jumped back up on the bed and snuggled up to me. I pet him softly as I hugged the shirt, letting my sorrow take over and allowing myself to quietly cry back to sleep.

*~*Matt's POV*~*

“Val, it's already 3 in the afternoon. She can't sleep all day.” I said as Val came out from the kitchen, joining me on the couch.

“Let her do what she wants Matt. She's tired.” She replied.

“I want to spend time with her too. I wanted to take her shopping for when we go on tour...”

“Then go wake her up.” She said.

I got up from the couch and headed upstairs to her room. I gently knocked on the door, receiving no answer from her. I opened the door to find her still curled up in bed, hugging the stuffed tiger Zacky gave her. It hadn't dawned on me until now that she slept alone last night, aside from Bella being coiled up with her. I walked around to the other side of the bed, sitting down softly as not to wake her. I reached out and brushed some of her hair out of her face, noticing around her eyes was red and puffy.

I rubbed her arm softly, “Lei? Wake up Lei...”

Her eyes fluttered open, bloodshot, as she clutched on to her stuffed tiger, “Brother.”

“Yeah, it's me. You alright? It's like 3 o'clock. You've been sleeping all day.” I told her.

“Yeah. I'm tired.” She muttered.

“You look like you've been crying. Tell me what's wrong baby girl...” I pleaded with her.

She shook her head gently, “I'm fine Matt. I'm sorry I slept so long.”

“Don't be sorry. I wanted to take you out shopping to get you some new stuff for tour. Maybe we can go tomorrow if you're too tired today.” I said concerned.

“Okay. Tomorrow sounds good.” She said quietly, rubbing her eyes.

I looked over at the food I brought her from earlier, untouched.

“You didn't eat. Are you hungry? I can make you something else.” I offered.

“I'm not hungry.”

“Lei, you have to eat something.”

“I'm tired Matt. I don't want to eat.” she claimed, pulling the blankets up around her body.

“Will you please at least come down for dinner in a few hours?” I asked.

“Alright.”

“I love you Lei. You know that right?”

“Yes. I love you too Matt. Thank you.”

“For what?”

“For caring.” she said with tears brimming her eyes.

“You're my sister. I will always care about you. You're my family. I'll love you forever.” I said trying to cheer her up.

“Promise?” the tears falling.

“I promise.” I said wiping her face with my thumb, “Don't cry. Go ahead and go back to sleep. I'll wake you up when it's dinner time.”

She sat up some and hugged me tightly, and I could feel her tears falling on my shoulder, “I love you brother.”

“I love you too little sister.” I said as she laid back down, snuggling into her blanket.

I got up from the bed and closed the door behind me. I went to the railing in the hall and looked down at Val sitting comfortably on the couch. I knew something happened to Lei but I didn't know what and it was killing me. I went down the stairs and plopped down next to Val.

“Everything alright?” Val asked.

“Kind of. I know something happened but she just won't tell me. Do you know what happened?” I turned to her.

“No. I asked her last night but she wouldn't say. I think we should give her some time to open up about it.”

“I want to babe, but I'm worried. She didn't eat anything and she's just sleeping. She didn't even want to go shopping today.” I said putting my head in my hands.

“Lei's like that though. She didn't even want to go and pick out stuff for her room. She's not used to someone spoiling her the way you do. She's probably really tired from last night and the food probably doesn't sound good with the hangover I'm sure she is nursing. Don't worry baby, I'm sure she will be back to normal tomorrow.” Val assured me.

“I hope you're right.” I said as I sat back on the couch, wrapping my arm around her.
